Boogie Chillen, Monday - 4-29-13

In case you haven't heard or realized it yet, it's HERE! AMC, as put forth by Prospect Park, is now available via Hulu.com! On a technical note (before you race off to watch it), I've found that navigating it much more likely to be successful using the REWIND ICON (10 seconds) in the browser player window than it is to try to click on a position on the progress bar. Clicking on the bar resulted in odd behavior for me, including losing my audio. I also had problems with Firefox and had to use IE to successfully watch it, but that may be due to some add-ons I have in Firefox. The new show is 30 minutes, rather than 1 hour. I don't know if it will be this way for future shows or just the premiere, but I was able to see it on-line on Hulu by 1-1:30am on (pacific)!

In case you don't recognize me or the "Boogie Chillen" in the header, it's what I called my daily or near-daily comments on the show before it was canceled, and I am now resurrecting it! I have read and posted little in RATSA since the show went off the air, feeling SO betrayed by ABC canceling the show after 41 years! But I'm back NOW. The backstory to Boogie Chillens is that people asked about my comments often and it made it easier to find by giving it a "name". I love John Lee Hooker's music and the Chillen ties in with Children, so that's how I picked the name for it. Please note that BCs are NOT necessarily UPDATES; they are my comments. Certainly this first one for the 2013 resurrection is more of an update, but some days I won't have much to say or will go 2-3 days without commenting and/or lump multiple days together in a single post. I post BCs in rec.arts.tv.soaps.abc on USENET and in this blog.

WELCOME BACK, EVERYONE!!!

AMC starts 5 years from the end of the ABC version, which ended with a cliffhanger. JR was out of control and tried to shoot Bianca and/or Marissa, JR's ex- or soon-to-be ex-wife, who were now a couple. JR was furious that Bianca had "turned" Marissa into a lesbian. Erica got in the way of the bullet as she headed toward the door after Jack. Most of the children are teens now. Oddly Lucy, Maya's baby that Jesse swapped out for he and Angie's baby, who was stillborn, has apparently GRADUATED (high school? college?) and got a job in Portland. Presumably Portland Oregon, not Portland, Maine. And now I keep wanting to spell Portland as "Portlandt". Anyway, Lucy was a BABY the last time we saw her; so far she wins the prize for having the worst case of SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome).

Brooke has a nightmare. In the nightmare, David and someone else are wrestling over a gun. She suddenly wakes up, finding herself on the couch. The classic AMC photo album with the words "ALL MY CHILDREN" on the cover is on her lap. Adam rushes to her to reassure her that he's right there for her.

WHOA! A brief, but HOT love scene with Cara and David! I don't know yet if it was a fantasy or a memory. This is DEFINITELY no longer ABC! Cara and David were doing it up against a WALL and showing a *LOT* of skin! A LOT! Maybe I WILL stick around to see how this goes!

Ah, SO nice to see Jesse and Angie in a HOUSE where they belong!  I LOVE Angie's colorful robe, too! I also love that she and Jesse actually look and mostly act like REAL people and they look fabulous doing so!

Dixie looks at a photo of herself and Tad in happier times. She is wistful and misty-eyed, and looks heavenward with love.

Petie is definitely all growed up now (and completely un-dorkified). He had an in-joke while talking on his iPhone, telling someone that it's all changing; everyone is watching TV on-line now :-) He drives around in a sporty convertible and looks like the trendy, hot-shot, rich young man that he is.

Someone has been in a coma or otherwise incapacitated for 5 years, but we don't know who yet. We know this because Cara and Griff, wearing doctor gear at PV Hospital, discuss someone (who is just off-camera) as they look at charts and over to the person in the bed, etc. They obliquely discuss how David would be very angry about whatever it is they have been doing with the patient.

There's a new theme song. It's COMPLETELY different from any of the variations we've heard over the course of 41 years. My closed-captioning gave the name of the song and the artist(s), but I don't remember right now and don't feel like looking for it; I'm sure someone will provide it soon enough. Something about friends and love. The opening montage shows characters, mostly shown in pairs, and has the characters' first names written underneath each one. It's actually a clever way to introduce people to characters, former and new, that they will be seeing.

Adam and Brooke have still not married (the cliffhanger ending was at an engagement party for them 5 years ago). Adam re-proposes. Apparently it's "complicated". AJ comes into the room, mentions Brooke's recurring nightmare, and tells them that it's been 5 years and they need to get over it and move on. Brooke agrees, but can't seem to let go of whatever happened at the party, because so MUCH has been lost.

AJ comes out of the bathroom playing or pretending to play his guitar to music on the stereo. His towel drops unnoticed from around his waist to the floor. We can see quite a bit! Miranda walks into the room and he gets all modest and says "SHIT!" among other things. Miranda makes it clear that they've grown up together and it's no big deal; she's seen him naked LOTS of times (mostly when they were little, though). They clearly have a very strong sibling-like relationship.

He replaces the towel around his waist, and they sit on the bed and look at a post someone wrote on Miranda's facebook wall. The post asks "Is Miranda Montgomery a VAG-itarian or does she eat meat?" Miranda calls them assholes (no bleeps, no wimpy substitution curse words).

Now we know that Cassandra, Natalia and Frankie are still alive, because Angie talks about how blessed she and Jesse are to have such wonderful children and how well they are doing in their lives.

Angie and Jesse have sex on the couch (we don't see that part, just the afterglow). Angie makes double entendres about the size of Jesse's equipment.

Jesse has a BIG surprise for Angie. She can't get the surprise info out of him, though. She goes to take a shower and makes more comments about he and his BIG surprise joining her in the shower. He does, but that happens off-camera.

Jesse's big surprise is that he has arranged for Cassandra to come to visit. He leaves her a message that a driver will be waiting for her with a sign with her name on it. We see her phone lit up with his call. The call is purposely being ignored.

Cortlandt Electronics is going down the tubes and Petie, who is apparently an apps genius, doesn't really want to deal with keeping it from going under. Opal urges him to do otherwise, for his dear departed father's sake, as CE was Palmer's heart and soul.

Wow, SOME of the lockers at  PVHS actually have LOCKS on them! Not Miranda's, of course. I also noticed that the front door to Jesse and Angie's house apparently does not have a deadbolt, despite it belonging to the Chief of Police (assuming he still IS COP), and despite all the chaos and mayhem that has occurred in their lives since the 1980s. Some things NEVER change. I couldn't quite see if the door had a thumblock.

Cara mentions that David is behind bars for manslaughter (presumably due to someone who died (it sounds like possibly MORE than one person died) at the cliffhanger party 5 years ago); she'll deal with him when the time comes. Oh look, there's David NOW, leaving prison! He's headed for home sweet home ... I predict some more Cara/David skin-on-skin action in the not-too-distant future.

Pete (I'll have to stop calling him Petie) is driving around town and sees a teenage girl wearing a plaid schoolgirl skirt get bumped into on the sidewalk, and her stuff tumbles to the ground. She is wearing a very showy charm bracelet. Pete gets off his wheeler-dealer phone call and helps her pick stuff up. She picks up an apple from the ground and takes a big bite out of it. She has to get going. He asks if she's late for detention. She says she's not a student. She's taking a "gap year". She teaches Art History at her old high school. He says he took an extended gap year from Stanford. She asks about it and he tells her he went to California and started his own company. He asks her name as she rushes off to school. She calls back that her name is Celia. Pete sees something shiny on the ground. He picks up a heart that must have fallen from her charm bracelet. It has a photo in it.

Miranda is all ga-ga because Hunter, the most popular boy in school, said "Hey" to her in the hallway. AJ is not impressed and tells her that the guy is a douche and a player. BTW, AJ is a ginger now. I think. It's hard to tell with the lighting. He's definitely not sporting the childhood blond mop-top hairstyle.

All the regulars are  looking GOOD! I noticed that the outdoor scenes/backdrops are quite realistic (I see plain old houses in the near distance out the back window of the taxi David takes to PV. I don't see any mountains or urbanization of PV, but it also doesn't look like the quaint town from the early days of AMC)

Pete tells Opal that the old CE factory may have more potential than he thought. He looks at the locket in his hand. He's planning to stick around for a few days. Opal gushes over him and wants them to do scrapbooking and tai-chi together while he's home. He smiles patiently at her.

Celia arrives in her room at her "old school", wherever that is, and an older woman, presumably a headmistress (or a mom or someone in some sort of authority over Celia), gets on her case for being late and then wants her to explain THIS ("this" being a condom, mercifully still in its package as opposed to recently having been donned on someone's package). Celia looks annoyed. **Edited to add that I didn't even realize that the headmistress is played by Francesca James, who played Kitty/Kelly on AMC way back in the day and later went on to become a director and producer on several soaps.**

Jesse talks on the phone to the limo driver. The driver has bad news.

David visits a grave. We do not see the name on the headstone. He says he's been in prison 5 years for what happened to "you".  Tears run down his face. But now he's back -- and there's going to be hell to pay!

All in all, I'm impressed with the first new show. I'm hoping that the fact that the show is on-line only and clearly has fewer restraints, may make it a little more realistic in some areas. Don't get me wrong; it's still a SOAP, but they clearly can show more skin and say curse words, so we may never again have to hear an AMC character use the word "crud" unless they are referring to baked-on, hard to clean food-matter in a baking pan that was left in the sink, untouched, for 3 days. It's all SHIT from here on out, and I mean that in the nicest possible way!

The teenagers are quite polished. Of course, when I say "polished", I'm thinking of The Tin Man being buffed by machinery in the Emerald City. The young actors, of course, usually have very nice young, firm skin to begin with, but even that skin has been polished down to an exquisite, doll-like finish. It's like they all just came back from a high-end detailing service. I don't have an opinion, one way or another about their acting skills. I think I like Miranda the best, though.

The adults all look marvelous, and yet more realistic than they ever did on ABC. I LOVE that so many of them are still there! It makes the transition to the revamped soap so much easier.

Bianca tells Miranda that she's the coolest mom EVER. Miranda asks why. Bianca says that her friend, Mallory, just scored 4 tickets for a One Direction concert at Madison Square Garden.

Jesse and someone at airport security are viewing video. The guy at the computer says the guy going through some glass doors with someone looks like a driver, presumably with Cassandra. Jesse protests that the driver HE hired said he never even picked her up or even SAW her.

Jesse tells Zach over the phone that he will never guess how "that car" was registered -- under his casino. Zach turns in his chair toward the camera and says "My casino?"

BLAST FROM THE PAST - BC - Tue, 8/29/00

[NOTE: here's a little background information since this is from 2000.
  • Adrian is Adrian Sword (played by Matthew St. Patrick, who later played Keith on Six Feet Under). Adrian was the love child of Opal and a black minister (or something like that); as an adult he was a multi-talented secret agent. MSP was quite yummy-looking, but his acting was very stilted; he did a much better job on SFU.
  • At the time, Finola Hughes was very pregnant in real life.
  • Tina was a so-so character who was involved with Adrian.
  • Dixie worked for David at the hospital as his assistant.
  • Jake was in one of his run-away-from-home-and-into-danger phases and had a planeload of orphans to be evacuated. I think he was in wartorn Chechnya.]
Whoa, NICE special effects (NOT)!  Ryan and Adrian are in a plane that is jolting right and left and they aren't even moving with it.  That's because the CAMERA is what's jerking right and left.  That cameraperson should cut back on the cappucinos.  Adrian hands Ryan a gun and asks if he knows how to use one of them.  Ryan shoves in a clip and says he'll figure it out.  Do I even have to SAY how ludicrous this situation is?

Considering that they are trying to make such a dramatic impact of Alex first seeing Dimitri at the Hunting Lodge, you would think they would have found a slightly different angle from which to shoot her.  Instead, the camera is to her right and slightly back, CLEARLY showing he belly preceding the rest of her by about 10".  The lampshade was supposed to disguise it, but the camera didn't move back NEARLY far enough, so the lampshade merely illuminates it and calls attention to it. A HUGE blunder that should have been either cut or reshot, IMNSHO.  The rest of their scenes together were fabulous, though, and the scene on the couch was very well-shot.

I want to know where Greenlee buys that tear-proof makeup!  Wait a minute -- it's probably got so many chemicals in it that she's now sterile, so maybe I'll pass on that.

Before jettisoning all that extra cargo in the cabin, you'd think Ryan and Adrian would have at least LOOKED in them to see what they were getting rid of!  Was I the only one who thought the first crate they sent out the door had Gillian in it (ok, we KNEW she wasn't actually IN it at that point)?  Ah, well, there was that brief little thrill, wasn't there?  While the whole thing was highly unbelievable, Ryan not getting sucked out the door when he tried to pull Gillian's crate and she jumped out was downright laughable.  Not quite as laughable as the coloring-book clouds visible outside the door and window (despite occasional puffs of dry ice vapors), but pretty funny anyway :-)

Tina should really avoid that pigtail look. It's for little girls or teenyboppers.

Considering the plane is at about 10,000 feet, the door is open, they are in a mostly steel cabin, and Gillian is wearing a sheer blouse, you'd think her nipples would be harder than they would be if, say, she were sitting in a Waco, TX, Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise that didn't even have an overhead fan, much less an air conditioner.

David grabs Dixie and kisses her -- HARD.  Afterward, she stares at him as he tells her he HAD to do that just to shut her up.  Uh huh.  She continues to stare at him in silent horror and disbelief.  He begs her to say something.  While Dixie didn't say anything, *I* said "LAWSUIT".  Something tells me the I-had-to-do-it-to-shut-her-up wouldn't fly in court.  What am I SAYING?  It would absolutely hold up in a PV court!

When Greenlee was smashing things with the axe, did anyone else think the printer/fax looked more like a plastic vaporizer?

If the plane barely has enough fuel to get them where they are going, never mind turning back to PV, how did Adrian and Ryan plan on RETURNING with Jake and a bunch of orphans in tow?

LOD:
Ryan to Gillian re sharing a bedroll to keep warm:  "How about you riding shotgun?"  Gillian:  "I'm not touching a gun unless I have to!"  BWAHAHAHAAA!

Dixie, fresh from the kiss from David, runs into SOS and kisses Tad like she wants to do him right there, standing up at the bar.  She tells him she's missed him SOOO MUCH!  Tad:  "Is that Zepherin Chloride and Betadine I smell?"

May I say that that is a very unflattering ensemble Dixie has on?  She makes almost anything look good, but that outfit is tight in all the wrong places, making her look frumpy.

Nice to see someone (Leo) actually playing darts at the loft.  Now if only Scott would walk in.  I thought Leo would point out that Scott lived there too, but then realized that Leo has no reason to take Scott's feelings into consideration.

Unless this was a daydream sequence (entirely possible [keeping in mind that I haven't seen Wed's show yet] given that sudden jump from standing to them lying on the couch), Alex has now had sex (presumably) within a very short period of time with 2 brothers.  You KNOW what soap opera law has to say about THIS situation.   Sigh -- ANOTHER whose-baby-is-it storyline?  At least she's dressed for the part nowadays.

BC - Fri, 7/15/11

Whoa, did you get a look at those shiny high heels Maya wears to clean the house? Shades of June Cleaver!

Wow, little Lucy stopped crying quite abruptly from the time Jesse went to the door and the time he opened it. I know it's very hard for actors to work with unpredictable babies, but it was still kind of funny how quickly it happened :-)

While I don't buy JAR being broken-hearted and driven to drink by losing eBabe, I suppose I DO buy him being at least driven to drink by losing her to a WOMAN. As he said, he didn't see THAT coming!

Is it just me or has this been a REALLY long day in Pine Valley? It started when Kathy woke up Tad and eBabe woke up JAR. Amanda, dressed for clubbing and freshly coiffed, went to Fusion to drink (apparently the bar is wide open for the breakfast crowd), had a heart-to-heart with Opal, then went to the park. Jake found her at the park and she told him she had an STD and, BTW, she contracted it only 3 weeks ago. He forgave her and she ran off again, this time to have a drink at the bar at Krystal's where she runs into JAR and tells him that she told Jake about the sex and the STD. It's still bright and sunny outside.

Jake and Tad had a heart-to-heart about Amanda cheating on him, then Jake went home to tell Amanda he still wants to make their marriage work. In the meantime, Kendall and Griff have a date for dinner(?), even though it's bright and sunny out. Griff bails on her when she pries. They meet later in the park and then at her house, I think, or maybe the hospital, and they go to the park again. It's still bright and sunny outside.

After needling (so to speak) several people at work, David twirls his invisible mustache and goes to his hotel room to get ready for an important meeting with hospital board members, but Jane shows up at his door, with her eyes practically rolling up into the back of her head due to her NON-Libidozone-inspired uncontrollable lust for him. After trying to get rid of her, David relents and gives her a right good shagging. Ryan and Greenlee, in the meantime, compare notes and information about Project Orpheus and wonder about Erica's involvement with David. Greenlee goes to the Yacht Club and pulls the fire alarm so that David and "Erica" will run out of the room in a state of not quite dressed. It's still bright and sunny outside.

EBabe gets mad at JAR for not really thinking of all those great special things to do for her and give to her because it was really all Bianca's ideas. Scott comforts her. JAR fusses and fumes about Scott taking eBabe away from him.  He almost drinks some scotch, but AJ inspires him with his adorableness, so JAR pours the scotch into  a poor, innocent plant next to the front door (no one will ever notice that the front door area REEKS of alcohol). It's still bright and sunny outside.

JAR goes to the hospital to possibly go to an AA meeting. While there, he and Tad have a heart-to-heart, then JAR takes off, presumably to a meeting. EBabe meets Bianca either on the Chandler grounds or the park (it's unlcear) and tells her that she loves her, too; she kisses Bianca. Bianca says it won't work because eBabe is straight, not gay. It's still bright and sunny outside.

Heartbroken at Bianca's rejection, eBabe goes back to the mansion, gets consoled by Scott some more (who has figured out that Bianca told eBabe that she had a thing for her), and then tells JAR (who has returned home after speaking with Amanda at Krystal's) that she's in love with Bianca, who walks in on them, despite knowing darned well that they were going to have a very private conversation (so much for being a saint). It's still bright and sunny outside.

In the meantime, Opal has a heart-to-heart with Jack, feeding him all sorts of goodies from the over-laden coffee table in the Martin living room (because the builders forgot to make a kitchen or dining room when they built the house), Kendall calls "Erica" over to her house for an emergency having to do with the Miranda Center, and when Jane shows up, it turns out to be an intervention. David and Angie meet and agree that his treatment is working. It's still bright and sunny outside.

JAR pours himself yet another glass of scotch (he has an endless supply of scotch bottles at the house). This time he actually drinks it. The plant outside the front door is quite relieved, since it's still dizzy and slightly pukey from the first bottle he opened. Tad comes over and they have yet another heart-to-heart. Maya helps hide the scotch at JAR's behest, and then her abusive boyfriend comes in (he's working on rebuilding the gatehouse with Scott) and menaces her. JAR drinks some more and has a meltdown in front of Tad, telling him that his wife is a lesbian (no she's not). It's still bright and sunny outside.

Maya abandons her post, goes to the hospital, and tells Frankie she's ready for that babysitting job NOW. She goes over to the Hubbard's place where Jesse is having trouble coping with the fussy baby since the previous babysitter had abruptly quit. Jesse had previously had a heart-to-heart with Brot over Lucy's humble beginnings and how she ended up being his daughter. Angie and Frankie show up and Lucy settles right down in Maya's arms ('cause Maya is actually her birth mother, of course, unbeknownst to any of them). It's still bright and sunny outside.

Jane is dismissive of everyone at the intervention. Then David shows up and she tells them all that she loves him and they've been having sex. Jack, Opal and Greenlee storm out. Kendall and Bianca are hurt and horrified. Then David asks "Erica" to marry him. Jane has changed her clothes, but I don't think anyone else has. I'm pretty sure it's still bright and sunny outside.

Meanwhile, the real Erica is pouring her heart out in self-reflection, telling Ben about being raped at 14 and giving birth to Kendall. She remembers how badly she treated Mona and deeply regrets it, realizing how much her mother truly loved her and only wanted what was best for her (as opposed to THE BEST). She realizes that the revolving door of men in her life was really about her quest to find a kind and protective father figure, not one who allows her to be raped by a child-molester. And then things started bumping against the walls outside of Erica's dungeon and Ben went to investigate, all the while assuring her that it was nothing.  Presumably it's still bright and sunny outside.

BC - Tue, 7/12/11

Why would a seascape remind little Bianca of a Pine Valley? Miller's Pond, maybe, but a SEASCAPE? Having ocean scenes, although annoying, is still amusing, but to have Stuart give a seascape painting to little Bianca to remind her of her home in Pine Valley while she's living in Washington is just plain insulting to the viewers.

It's nice to see Amanda take time out of her angst over an STD and the impending doom of her marriage to get a nice haircut in the middle of the night.

If Amanda is trying to avoid sex with Jake or anyone else, why is she dressed in a braless, low-cut, spray-on top with matching spray-on pants? She looks like she's about to go out clubbing. And what was with that scene with the guy at the bar. I couldn't tell if she was deliberately trying to put him off or reel him in. Are we supposed to see it as reverting to old habits during stressful times, but then thinking twice about it? Did she just not want to be bothered? It didn't really come off either way. She DID show him her wedding beringed finger. He didn't seem to care, and then she knocked a vase or something, consequently spilling water all over him, thus driving him away. It was hard to tell if she was just bumbling or being a bitch or being a cock-tease. I don't get it. It was enough to reel OPAL over to her, though, which may have been the whole point.

Didn't JAR get Hepatitis C during that whole Richie-steals-JAR's-bone-marrow storyline? Amanda's right; he SHOULD be carrying condoms at all times and USING them!

Hey JAR, here's an idea to pass the time: GO TO WORK!

They actually WENT there? Marissa is NOT gay, so why is she kissing Bianca (and doing a really bad job of it, at that)?

BC - Fri, 1/28/11

On Friday's episode, Tad gives Jesse chocolates to give to Angie. They both promptly start eating the candy, with gusto, while they still talk. Ok, who at AMC got the sudden urge to show the cast chewing, swallowing and talking all of the sudden?

I can understand why Natalia and Brot used the hotel room the first time, but why are they using it again? Don't they both have their own places?

Okay, now I have to take AWAY props from the Props department; either the telephone handset that Greenlee is holding is WAY too big or she has a very tiny head.

OMG, I was just JOKING about where Jake was going to put his fingers -- now he's telling David that he's scheduled him for a colonoscopy (right after David says he can handle "a few jabs")

So not only does Cara have no idea how to apply eyeliner, but she's rude, too. She just goes up to Tad at Krystal's, plops herself down and starts talking, completely oblivious to the fact that Tad is sitting WITH someone (someone he's investigating for possibly stealing drugs from the hospital). Then she asks him if he's worked any good cases lately.

Fusion is seriously going to have an ad campaign glamorizing a woman carrying a GUN? What next, they create an applicator shaped like a gun? They should go to Cara to find out where she gets hers from, because I suspect she uses a bazooka for that.

BC - Fri, 1/7/11

If the doctor is worried about Kendall's blood pressure, why did Ryan and Greenlee bring Kendall sodium-laden Chinese food?

Why was Scott in the visitation room? He just wanders up to Madison and starts talking to her after her father refuses to see her. And why would Madison get as far as being IN the visitation room if the inmate won't see her -- doesn't that have to be cleared ahead of time? And why aren't there any other prisoners at Statesville in the same room with Scott? And why are all my sentences starting with the word "And"? It's not unusual for me, but I don't usually string them all in the same paragraph.

Oh, Liza, NO! Yeah, she's feeling very isolated and probably horny as hell, but her daughter's heartbroken boyfriend? It's not quite the same as when Marian was seducing Tad (who was Liza's first love and lover), toying with him, and paying him with money and gifts, but the ick factor is still WAY up there.

Why hasn't anyone beaten the crap out of Madison's father on a daily basis if he's talking to all the other inmates like they are worthless and beneath him? That is one pristine, well-ordered, well-behaved, gangless prison.

Wait a minute -- why would Zach's lawyer talk to RYAN about Zach's will and give Kendall's legal papers to him? WTF? The lawyer knows where Kendall is. I really hate the complete disregard for legal privacy and the way the men on the show treat women like children.

When Madison said she might find some guy to pretend he's the baby's father (semi-joking to get Greenlee off her back), how many of you immediately wondered if Tom Cudahey was available? My next thought, just looking at Greenlee's face as she pondered that, was that Scott will, of course, do exactly that, possibly because Greenlee will bribe him with a job or money when he gets out. And looky here, by the end of the episode, where is Greenlee? At the prison offering Scott a job and a beautiful blond.

BC - Tue-Wed, 10/5-6/10

So Scott went to Europe and back in the course of one day?

Oh look -- Erica is afraid of thunderstorms again. How convenient.

WOW! There's something you don't see every day (M-F)! Annie's makeup actually SMEARED. Not from the rain, but from crying. Yeah, it happens every once in ten blue moons, and this is apparently one of them.

How many days does Greenlee have to wear the same clothes? Does she even have a change of thong? Since she's been to jail Scott has gone to Europe, then back to Florida and now home to Pine Valley and she's STILL wearing the clothes she was wearing when they arrested her.

Scott managed to fly to Europe and back to Florida and then get to Pine Valley, yet he was unable to get to the top of the stairs in time to catch JAR and Annie having sex, even though they still had much of their clothing on as he started to ascend the stairs. For someone with such long legs, you'd think he'd get there faster. By the time he burst into the room, they were naked and done. It doesn't say much for JAR's stamina in the sack, either.

BC - Fri, 8/27/10

I saw the show for Tuesday & Wednesday, but I had nothing to say about them other than "eh". And apparently I have the same sentiments about Thursday.

Well, so much for Madison making sure Ryan takes it easy. I guess choosing to have sex on the living room couch, rather than adding to the huge stain on the floor in front of the fireplace, falls into the category of "taking it easy". For once Ryan made a concession to having had a recent brain hemorrhage by actually having some cushioning while having sex.

Why did Madison STAY on the couch when someone knocked insistently on the door and Ryan got up and dressed to answer it? She could have gotten up and gone to the bedroom or bathroom, but nooooo, she just sits there, naked but for a blanket. And then Madison had the gall to act SURPRISED when she saw Greenlee at the door (they were expecting it would be Kendall coming over for Spike's toy). Apparently she had no problem with Kendall (possibly with Spike in tow) or anyone else coming to the door and seeing her naked on the couch, oozing with post-sex ... um ... glow. What would the look on Madison's face have been it it had it been, say, Annie, dropping off Emma? Ryan just opened the door knowing Madison was naked on the couch directly opposite it, and that the room was reeking of recent sex.

I would LOVE it if, just once, a character would mention the stain on the floor in front of the fireplace. Opal would be a good person to notice it and tactlessly blurt out something about it. And I KNOW something about tactlessly blurting out things. She could say something like: "Ryan, you really should FIRE your housekeeper, or at least have a talk with her. That stain on the floor has been there for the longest time and it just seems to be getting bigger over the years. Maybe you should try some Murphy's Oil Soap or even baking soda. We had a big stain like that at the Chicken Shack once and I -- never mind."

All things considered, why does Colby believe that her Mom got tickets for Colby and Damon to go to Caleb's party, especially since they came from David, not Liza? Even at Colby's age, I would have suspected the motives. Also, why would she and Damon want to go to a party full of "old people".

Does it ever cross Greenlee's little pea brain that, given everything he's done so far to utterly shatter her trust in him, David might be having her followed 24/7? I mean, I would think that would be the EASIEST and most expedient thing he would do and he would have done it from the very outset of their marriage ... or sooner, just as a matter of course, no matter HOW much he loved her.

BC - Wed, 8/11/10

We all know that David has a marked inability to feel love in any healthy kind of way. Watching him now just makes my skin crawl. Seeing how Greenlee goes along with him, for the most part, for HER really puts a punctuation mark on it. She's acting like a captive who is trying to placate her captor in order to buy time, no matter HOW crazy he is or how ridiculous his expectations of her feelings are. She's also being somewhat robotic. It reminds me of cases where someone gets obsessed with someone and thinks their every move or word or eye movement is a secret message that is SHARED between them. If that delusion is threatened, the obsessive person will resort to violence in order to maintain it at all costs.

David's not doing this to be mean (that we know of). He really seems to be doing it because he thinks he loves her and wants her to love him back at least as far as she did before he dropped the bomb on her. If she won't do it willingly, he'll MAKE her do it and she'll thank him for it later. This is NOT going to end well for David. I don't know if he'll be murdered (and then DI comes back as an identical relative), have a brain disorder, or be sent to Oakhaven for a while, but they CANNOT redeem him from this without something major. Female fans will NOT stand for it unless he pays and pays BIG. Domestic psychological abuse is something that a significant number of us have had to deal with and we

The writers might do well to keep that in mind.

BC - Fri, 7/9/10

I know it's totally Erica, but I REALLY think Jack and Erica should slink off to Las Vegas or wherever they can to just quietly get married again. Not only is this wedding #11, but it's to the same guy she married the last time, so what's the point of a big reception? Not that they'll actually GET married this time.

It was supposed to be funny when Caleb sniffed his shoes, but I couldn't help but think he was wondering if they might smell odd because they smelled so NEW, not because he had stinky feet, the shoes were moldy or he had stepped in dogshit.

Have you noticed that AMC now deems it acceptable to use the word "piss" and "pissed"? That used to be a taboo word on AMC.

Liza'a being a total BITCH to Caleb! Not that he's amiable in ANY way, but she should keep in mind that she and Tad are the ones who showed up on Caleb's doorstep unannounced. They are intruding on HIS privacy and he doesn't know them. I wouldn't want to talk to Liza, either, and I sure as hell wouldn't invite her in. Of course, given her intense animosity toward him, she'll probably end up in a love triangle with him and Krystal.

WTH is wrong with Liza and Tad that they are incapable of having (or at least attempting to have) sex in the privacy of a bedroom? Two little girls, Tad's mother, Tad's ex-wife and now his grown son all live in that house, yet he and Liza INSIST on disrobing, making out and attempting to have sex in the living room over and over again, no matter how many times they get interrupted there. Idiots.

Caleb shoos out all of Krystal's customers at the restaurant, telling them that there's a gas leak. The people all get up and quietly leave without a word or even any expressions on their faces as Krystal yells at him for doing it. WTF? What are they, Stepford patrons?

AMC - Boogie Chillen, Monday - 4/26/10

JAR gets mad after Annie leaves the room to tuck Emma in. He grabs an empty glass, screws up his face and smashes the glass into the wall. Nice going, A-hole! Now there are shards of glass all over place for the kids to cut themselves on.

I'll never understand how these people can fall asleep on the floor after having sex in front of the fireplace. Yeah, I can understand the sex part, but falling asleep on a hard floor cannot possibly be comfortable unless maybe you're a dog.

Does anyone ever sit on the Pillsbury dinner roll couch near the Fusion elevator?

When Greenlee said to Madison: "What's the job?", did anyone else flash on Lily Von Schtupp (Madelaine Kahn) in "Blazing Saddles" saying the same thing to Hedley LaMarr (Harvey Korman)?

BC - Wed, 2/3/10

Well, it's pretty obvious that Krystal was giving Rob a blowjob while he was driving (or worse, while SHE was driving). Now they are both in the hospital and she's wondering if his manhood will ever recover. This is not the first time we've seen Krystal after a rather broad indication that she had just given someone a blowjob (remember the lab technician when Babe was having a pre-natal DNA test done on the baby? Krystal actually WIPED HER MOUTH as the guy did up his pants).

Ah, so they were NOT driving at the time (unless you count a different kind of driving). Why did Frankie think they should file the case in the strange-but-true file (he was just being facetious, but still). I mean, REALLY, how uncommon is it for people to come in for injuries related to having sex? Falling out of bed would actually seem to be quite common. And, as many medical TV shows have joked (or possibly NOT joke), they have a basket/box for all the odd things doctors pull out of people's asses (with some unusual explanations on how the items could POSSIBLY have ended up so far up there, usually having to do with accidentally falling onto something and, OOPS!).

Why would Fusion go on the record at a press conference and say WHAT was destroyed? Why give their competitors the edge of knowing that? You would think they would want to keep it quiet that it happened at ALL.

Greenlee started a fire when she threw something into/toward the fireplace. Now she's asleep and the place is filling with smoke (a way to get rid of the Wildwind set?). Ryan will, of course, have to rescue her. I wouldn't be surprised if he hesitates first, though, being tempted to let David and what's left of his things burn to the ground.

Fusion has an alarm code?

WTF are Jake and Angie meddling into a delivery of meds for someone who obviously has great need of it? It's none of their BUSINESS! Did Jake ever stop to think that stealing a delivery meant for someone else in the pursuit of snooping on David might compromise his court case against him?

Why didn't anyone at PVH ask David why he doesn't just bring his patient to a NY, Philadelphia or Boston hospital for the better facilities than Gloucester? I mean WE know why he can't move Greenlee, but THEY don't know that (yet).

BC - Fri-Mon, 1/29/10 thru 2/1/10

Wow, that's some crack security team Adam has. They just assume the perp escaped out the bedroom window. The alarm is blaring, but they don't even bother to check ANY hiding place in the room or next to the room (like the bathroom). They didn't even check under the bed.

Krystal tells Rob to take her back to his place. Uh, why didn't she do that the other day when she and Tad both wanted to boink their respective dates in the living room while Opal and the kids were upstairs?

The wind sure came up quickly! There didn't appear to be any wind outside when Greenlee talked to the reporter outside of Fusion, and no one else had mentioned it.

I agree with the comments on RATSA re Erica's fluffy dress. It's little girlish or, at the very least, too young a fashion for Erica. Upon further reflection, wasn't she wearing a similar dress during the fuzzy flashback of her when she was 14 and about to be raped by Richard Fields? Upon even further reflection, I went to http://images.google.com and searched for Shirley Temple photos. BINGO! Check out THIS photo of Erica Kane vs Shirley Temple with VERY similar frilly dresses:

Okay, that's just ... odd. Does Susan Lucci REALLY want people to think of a little girl in the early 1930s when they look at her?

Does Ryan even OWN a bed at this point, or does he just sleep on the living room floor in front of the fireplace every night? Clearly the living room floor with the ever-widening stain on the floor gets way more butt-prints on it than his imaginary bed EVER has.

BC - Thu-Fri, 1/21-22/10

Oh please -- who drops their clothes on the floor as they come off with the clothes in the shape of a person? First there's Ryan's shirt, then his pants, then his socks, all lined up the way they would be ON him (okay, so the shirt was twisted somewhat).

I had to bust out laughing when Liza started stripping for Tad. It's probably already been mentioned, but it cracked me up because of the animation on Youtube that was done after Liza came to town and had sex with Zach on a gaming table at the casino. I THOUGHT that was a Pratt Falls episode, but it might have been a different, similar spoof. I find it hard to believe that that little stripping dance done in the animation wasn't at least partly an inspiration for THIS scene, especially since Liza got stuck in her blouse and couldn't get her hands out of the ends of the sleeves.

I loved the look on Erica's face when Opal told her that she's keeping her feelings all bottled up like a can of GRANNY'S PRESERVES! What was even funnier was that Susan Lucci couldn't quite make the face she WANTED to make because ... well ... Granny IS preserved.

Ryan tells Madison that they started Fusion by experimenting with lipgloss in the kitchen. Get your facts straight, Ryan/writers -- they were experimenting by making LIPSTICK.

I LOVED it when Tad went into the hallway and Liza asked him what took him so long. He said: "Well, I'm a little slow, all right? My BRAIN is engorged." ROTFLMAO! We all know which brain HE was talking about!

When the show opened and Erica busied herself bending over some files, Ryan walked behind her and admired her ass. How many of you said: "OMG, he's going to butt-f**k her? Too far? Come on, you KNOW some of you were thinking EXACTLY that ;-)

Are we ever going to see Dr. Bender? He's paged CONSTANTLY at PVH.

If Ryan wants "no games", neither Erica NOR Greenlee is the woman for him.

eBabe asks David WHY he lied about being sick and dying. He gives some reasons, but then says that the reasons don't really matter -- what matters is that he lied to her. I beg to differ -- reasons as to why he lied matter a LOT. If he lied to PROTECT eBabe from something, for instance, that might be forgivable. If he lied so he could go away and stop being such an asshole to everyone he meets, that might be forgivable. But he lied in order to trick a woman into doing all KINDS of things, binding her to him and keeping her from the man she TRULY loves, and to keep a baby that the KNEW was not his. THAT is not forgivable.

In this case, I think Jake punching David out was ENTIRELY justified.

BC - Wed, 11/4/09

Kendall chides Aidan for bringing up Zach's infidelity. Excuse me? ZACH'S infidelity? I believe Kendall was f**king LIVING with Ryan at that point (assuming the point is Liza on the gaming table).

David rages about whether or not Jake and Amanda had sex since it could interfere with the insemination process. WTF? It's only been about a week or LESS since the LAST time J&A had sex; wouldn't THAT interfere with the process? Not only that, but an ovulation cycle has to be established FIRST so that the fertility doctor knows WHEN to do the insemination.

How many of you were thinking David was going to insist on doing a pelvic exam on Amanda (right there on the coffee table) to make SURE she wasn't lying about whether or not she and Jake had sex tonight? And speaking of that, did the contact specify what constitutes "sex"? What about oral sex or manual stimulation? What if they both just masterbated in front of each other? Does the contract forbid Amanda masterbating or, if it's allowed, does it specify what implements, if any, may be used or not used? Would specifications have to be given in inches or centimeters, and would they include wattage or if either battery or electrical power is specifically denied or allowed. If so, is there is a clause about sterilization of said implements or perhaps disposability requirements? If lubrication products are used, are there ingredients that would be allowed or prohibited? We're back to Clinton's question of what the definition of "is" is. Given all the details that would be need to be CLEARLY outlined in the contract, who would enforce it? Don't answer that -- you KNOW David would insist on being there with a ruler, microscope and test tubes for the entire process. Then the contract would have to specify whether or not he can use latex gloves (wouldn't want to introduce any kind of allergy in the developing baby, after all).

Liza tells Jake and Amanda that the two of them are out of their mind. I'm heartened to hear that the show acknowledges that there is only ONE mind between the two of them, because you'd be hard-pressed to get TWO people to agree to such an asinine plan.

Jesse asks Ryan why he can't trust him (Jesse) to push Adam the rest of the way. Jesse: "What, am I really THAT bad a cop, Ryan?" Me: "YES!"

Aidan tells Kendall that they have to make it look like they were not there at the church. That might be hard to do if they've been using one of the corners for a latrine. Also, Aidan was wounded. Wouldn't there be traces of his blood around?

Hm. Amanda managed to provide at least PART of the definition of what does or does not constitute "sex".

Annie tells Adam that if he confesses, she and Scott could be considered accessories to murder. Why would SCOTT be considered an accessory? He only found out a few days ago that Adam was the one who did it, whereas Annie WITNESSED it.

BC - Tue, 9/29/09

Oh please -- who has a VCR or DVR nowadays that makes backwards chipmonk noises when rewound during play? Just Jake, apparently.

Why couldn't Amanda walk in from the car on her own? It's not like she was out cold -- otherwise she wouldn't be holding herself in such a stiffly obvious pose, she'd just be limply dangling in David's arms.

The scene changes from Amanda prettily waking up to Kendall furiously pounding on the door to be let out of her cel--er--room. I didn't realize that it was a such a relief not to see Kendall yesterday, in all her shining stupidity, distracted as I was marveling at the stupidity of holding a last-minute marathon in a cramped, tacky office. It may be morning, but Kendall doesn't know if someone else might be out there, so pounding on the door and yelling is foolhardy, at best, although not nearly as stupid as invisibly leaving her child with the neighbors and showing up at a televised marathon to spy on her husband.

David tells Trevor that he (and Amanda) are going to teach Trevor how to be a good man and how to love. Well, AMANDA might do that -- I have a tough time seeing DAVID do that. Meanwhile, Amanda falls for soap trick #5: a despicable man is nice (or worse, tender) to a child/infant in view of a woman and the woman melts, canceling out every heinous thing the man has ever done not only in his life, but TO that specific woman. Amanda's such a SAP! Oh wait, she didn't fall for it. Well, THAT'S refreshing ... OFGS, it looks like she DID fall for it by the time morning rolled around.

Sooo, Aidan DID obtain Ian from the neighbors? A strange foreigner who speaks halting English shows up and says he's there to pick up the rich and famous baby and they, apparently, just hand him over. They also apparently never questioned why the invisible babysitter rushed out and left Ian alone until they could mosey on over to take care of him. Frankly, I would think a call to CPS by the neighbors is warranted.

Angie wonders where she left her purse. Excuse me? A "big" event like that and she just sets her purse down somewhere? This wasn't a BBQ at her friend's house -- it was a televised event with camerapeople, reporters, psychotic and deceitful people like Annie and Madison, deceitful-in-the-extreme, mustache-twirling people like David and Adam and just plain strangers. I hope the only thing she had in her purse was lipstick, because that may be the only thing LEFT in her purse by now.

Krystal is looking very good. She's lost some weight and possibly had some work done. Good for you, Girl -- it's workin' for ya!

Why did Natalia haul a police manual in her purse with her to the marathon? I guess she wanted a little light reading for her break times. Did Angie have a copy of Grey's Anatomy in HER bag? Too late -- it's probably already listed on eBay.

If Kendall gets a new trial (or rather A trial, since she pled guilty without one), how are they planning to swap out her and the impersonator in her jail cell? For that matter, if they CAN'T get Kendall legally freed, how long is her impersonator supposed to sit in the cell pretending to be Kendall?

Ryan tells Erica that he has always thought of the two of them as equal. Really? How about when she was going to be your mother-in-law? What about when she was going to be your stepmother? Never thought of her THAT way? What about Spike? Is he supposed to refer to Erica as Mommy Erica? Not that he knows her as a grandmother, in any case, but this situation is just stomach-turning.

Did Erica and Ryan actually HAVE sex yet. It seemed like they got together to talk about it (after being interrupted), but it's not clear if they took up where they left off or if they just continued rubbing and slobbering all over each other without consummating the act. I suspect they didn't and we'll still see a scene where they at least find a BED to do it in. Grandma might be in great shape for her age, but doing it on tables, desks, floors or rocks could result in broken bones. If they DID have sex, did they use a condom?

If they carry out this ridiculous Ryan/Erica pairing, would they have Erica get pregnant? We all know Susan Lucci is in her 60s, but Erica, having finally given up the ghost on staying 35, will probably only admit to 45 or 50, so it's a possibility. Maybe THAT's how they'll end the show once and for all after it gets canceled, which can't be far behind after AMC moves to CA and the main cast players stay in NY. Erica gets pregnant and she dies in childbirth (if Kendall, Annie or a resurrected Greenlee don't kill her first). Greenlee may show up again and take Ryan back from Erica. Emma and Spike, meanwhile decide to join forces for a family Thanksgiving dinner that NO ONE will ever forget.

What is Natalia's problem with Brot? She had to be taught how to get the upper hand on a suspect by RANDI, so why does she think it will be SOOOO hard for Brot, a war veteran, to pass a test to get into the academy? SHE passed it and she had NO experience in any form of Security work or traning, whatsoever.

BC - Mon, 9/28/09

Would you want Angie treating you at PVH after she spent all night at a dance marathon?

Where did the nanny go? Amanda handed Trevor off to Krystal to watch.

Did anyone else get whiplashed by two pop-culture evocations from Erica, one after the other? First Erica tells Ryan that the LAST thing she wants to hear from him are the words "I'm sorry" (Love Story - "Love means never having to say you're sorry"), followed by telling him that she doesn't want him changing for her because she likes him just the way he is (Billy Joel - "Just the Way You Are"). Then I noticed that Erica's dance couple number is 10. Is that their not-so-subtle way of labeling her as a 10 (yet another pop-culture reference, ala the movie "10").

Whose bright idea was it to drop all that confetti fall in the OFFICE? Who's going to clean THAT up? The (invisible) people in the office are going to be picking confetti out of crevices for WEEKS.

Speaking of crevices, Ryan and Erica are in the process of getting it on in her office. EWWWWWWWW!!! He's the father of her GRANDSON and on-and-off lover of her DAUGHTER and the presumed SON of the man she was going to marry (Chris Stamp)! Either way, Ryan would have been referring to her as "Mom" in one form or another. And now they are ripping their clothes off with each other, swapping spit and grinding pelvises, among other things. EWWWWWWWWW!!! Surprisingly, the age difference didn't bother me THAT much (okay SOME, but not as much as I thought it might), but the squick factor of the near incest connections skeeves me out PLENTY! Let's break it down, shall we?
Erica is the biological mother of Kendall, Bianca and Josh. Erica was formerly engaged to the late Chris Stamp, who was presumed for a while to be Ryan's biological father. Erica was temporarily married to Jack, her long-term on-again/off-again lover. Jack is Greenlee's biological father. Josh and Greenlee had hooked up on occasion. Greenlee was married to Ryan and was Kendall's best friend (and occasional enemy). Kendall was driving on the wrong side of the road, forcing Greenlee to lose control of a motorcycle and to disappear over a cliff; she was presumably killed in the process. Kendall and Ryan then started hooking up (yet AGAIN) before Greenlee even had time to decompose. Kendall is mother to Spike and Ian. Ryan is Spike's biological father and stepfather to Ian. Ryan is also the biological father of Emma and was formerly married to Emma's crazy, homicidal mother, Annie. Annie, Kendall, Greenlee, Adam and Ryan have all worked at Fusion in various capacities. Annie (aka InSannie) is now engaged to Adam, who has twice been married to Erica. Adam will become Emma's stepfather when/if he and Annie get married. Somewhere in all of this is a novelty song waiting to happen (along the lines of "I'm My Own Grandpa").

Ryan's holding a gun on Aidan and Annie and is about to shoot them when his cellphone goes off -- and he looks down to F**KING ANSWER IT! Oh PUH-LEEZE! I'd say he has the attention span of a flea, but even fleas pay attention long enough to suck their fill!

Ian is brought home from the hospital and both parents head out the door IMMEDIATELY. I was a taken aback when Zach left, but I was downright PISSED OFF when Kendall did. Then again, the best thing for a traumatized baby is routine and familiar surroundings (and staying overnight in the hospital must be traumatic for a baby, especially after having had surgery a few days before that). So having Mommy and Daddy leave him in the care of the nanny pretty much IS routine for Ian. But considering all he's been through and the fact that mere MINUTES before that they were worrying about getting VERY BAD NEWS about him at the hospital (the news was that they could take him home), you'd think they'd want to stick around for at least a few minutes before abandoning him again.

LOD:
Adam to David, who just walked into the Chandler living room: "You keep showing up uninvited, I'm going to have to rent a mongoose to take you out." BWAHAHAHAAAAA!!! Mongooses catch and eat all kinds of vermin. According to Wikipedia: Mongooses mostly feed on insects, crabs, earthworms, lizards, snakes, chickens, and rodents. However, they also eat eggs and carrion. Some species, such as the Indian Mongoose, are popularly used to fight and kill venomous snakes, even King Cobras. There is just SO much that could be read into that line

I also LOVED Reese telling Kendall what a hypocrite she was and ordering her out under no uncertain terms!

Aidan says Annie is supposed to be traveling under the name of Esther Waxworth. Really? Esther Waxworth? That's not exactly a common name suitable for being incognito. I can see how the name Esther might not merit a second glance, but Waxworth, with two Ws and an X in it calls attention. Not that I believed Aidan ANYWAY, it's just not a very good "generic" alias.

Jesse arrested Aidan. What did he charge him with? If he charged him with helping Annie to escape, then how can he drop the charges if/when Annie is captured if it's no longer up to the PVPD? Not that any jail can hold Super-Aidan for long.

I'm thinking more and more that Aidan is going for the $10M. He wanted to go with Annie because she'll go to where it's hidden. Now he'll have to track her down to find the money. There really IS no other explanation for his utterly unfathomable "love" for her. It just does NOT compute. Of course, his love affairs rarely DO compute.

WTH? Kendall has a propensity to use sex to deal with stress in her life, but that scene with her BEGGING Ryan for it because Zach won't tell her who he had sex with was just PATHETIC! Are they going to give her a sex addition storyline, or is she just, quite literally, a mindless f**k?

Touching on the Julie Chandler (Lauren Holly) and Annie (Melissa Claire Egan) resemblance, here's a comparison of the two. Maybe it's just the combo of the red hair and style that keeps bringing the comparison to mind:

BC - Mon, 4/20/09

Annie's transfer to another hospital was really an escape orchestrated by Aidan. It wasn't that long ago that he did something similar to break Greenlee out of a courtroom followed shortly thereafter by her disappearing down a hole, leading to her being poisoned by some weird plant and Aidan and Kendall having grief sex. Oops. WTF is WRONG with him (don't answer that)??? This guy has NO compunction about breaking women out of incarceration, whether it be a penal institution or a mental institution. And I STILL cannot figure out WTF he sees in Annie. Maybe he IS after the $10 million. You'd think Greenlee would have been more aggressive in trying to get it back, but she didn't seem to notice it was missing, even when her company was going down in flames.

Annie is a homicidal maniac. Just because she remembers the childhood trigger doesn't mean she's "cured" -- it just means she remembers it and now has an explanation of how she got that way. I have a pretty good idea about LOTS of things I do or think that stem from childhood traumas, but that doesn't EXCUSE and/or fix them -- it just makes me more aware of WHY I'm that way. Sometimes I get a pretty good handle on things for a long time, but in times of stress, I tend to revert to old habits. From what I've observed, Annie doesn't take well to criticism or romantic rivalry. What will SHE do under stress?

Wow! It's not often we actually SEE the panties come off! I hope Zach is planning to replace that gaming table -- something tells me it will be ... wait for it ...... GAMEY! Brumpt-TING!

Wow, with that red wig on (especially in that style), Annie REALLY looks like Lauren Holly (aka Julie from the 1980s). All she needs now is a hat with 30 buttons on it I suppose the giant sequins on her top will have to do. Why DID he get her clothes with big, gaudy sparkly things on them? I suppose it's his idea of hiding in plain sight. I wonder if he'll advise her to pick her nose in public (causing people to look away -- I remember that from a Richard Dreyfuss movie). The fact is that there will be an alert out eventually that a homicidal maniac has escaped (with his help) and her photo will be on the news -- Nancy Grace will be all OVER it. I can hear her now: "BOMBSHELL TONIGHT! Mentally ill accused kidnapper and accused brother-killer, not to mention sister of CONFIRMED murderer ON THE LOOSE! Deaf father wants NOTHING to do with her, so HOW did this happen! We need a shrink, PRONTO!" Jane Valez Mitchell will also chime in with SHOCKING details! BTW, if you watch Nancy Grace, you'll REALLY appreciate THIS YouTube parody of her. It is DEAD ON

Some people say that having wild, anonymous sex is not Liza's style, but she DID go through a phase like that when she was younger. That got her raped and beaten and she reformed; it served to rehabilitate her in the eyes of many for falsely accusing Jesse of trying to rape her. I still remember Angie's mom, Pat (who was a rape counselor), telling Liza that she was making it much harder for women who really WERE raped and she hoped that it would never REALLY happen to her. Liza stuck to her story, though. I think that's why Jesse fled to NY and met up with Jenny to live in Hell's Kitchen.

I always thought Liza was too conservative when she was with Adam. Anonymous sex on a card table seems to be going a little too far, but we don't know what her life has been like all these years. Maybe they'll portray it as being her way of numbing the pain of being an estranged mother. Then again, when you've gotta have, you've gotta have it. I guess she's never heard of a vibrator. She seems to have targeted Zach, though, so she probably considers him relatively "safe" for her purposes, whatever those purposes might be. I know this will sound blasphemous to some, but I never really warmed up to Marcy Walker playing Liza. Part of it was Liza's frosty character, but part of it was just that she was lacking some kind of spark, IMO. I never watched Santa Barbara, so I only knew Marcy Walker as Liza. She was PERFECT as the hoity-toity, upper-crust teen back in the early 1980s whom we loved to hate, but I was always lukewarm about her as an adult. I'm willing to give this new Liza a chance.

When Liza extended her hand to shake with Zach, there was a little hesitation on his part. Was I the only one who was thinking that they BOTH might be wanting to wash their hands and wondering what kind of residue was on the OTHER person's hand? Stuff that seems deliciously decadent and natural while having sex can seem icky once the clothes are back on.

When Colby returned, Adam refused to let Liza even talk to her and threatened her with legal action unless she stayed away -- FOREVER. Has the statute of limitations run out on kidnapping? Colby was 15 when she returned. How old is Colby supposed to BE now?

What's beeping in Ian's room? Is he wearing some sort of remote monitor, because I don't see any wires connected to him while Ryan is holding him across the room from his crib.

Liza told Jake she's in the private gaming room. Well at least THAT question was answered (along with why there were apparently no other customers at the casino). That casino worker who has long had an eye on Zach wasn't too happy with her. I foresee a rooftop/Miller's Falls situation in their future.

Annie decides not to kidnap Emma after all, saying Emma would be disoriented. She didn't seem to have any qualms about kidnapping her the LAST time, and locking Emma in an abandoned church (which subsequently caught fire) in Puerto Rico.

Liza presses her nose against the glass of the Chandler living room as she spies on Colby and Adam. That crack security team on the Chandler estate never fails to meet our expectations, do they? I guess they've downsized, too (not that it would make the slightest difference).
