We all know that David has a marked inability to feel love in any healthy kind of way. Watching him now just makes my skin crawl. Seeing how Greenlee goes along with him, for the most part, for HER really puts a punctuation mark on it. She's acting like a captive who is trying to placate her captor in order to buy time, no matter HOW crazy he is or how ridiculous his expectations of her feelings are. She's also being somewhat robotic. It reminds me of cases where someone gets obsessed with someone and thinks their every move or word or eye movement is a secret message that is SHARED between them. If that delusion is threatened, the obsessive person will resort to violence in order to maintain it at all costs.

David's not doing this to be mean (that we know of). He really seems to be doing it because he thinks he loves her and wants her to love him back at least as far as she did before he dropped the bomb on her. If she won't do it willingly, he'll MAKE her do it and she'll thank him for it later. This is NOT going to end well for David. I don't know if he'll be murdered (and then DI comes back as an identical relative), have a brain disorder, or be sent to Oakhaven for a while, but they CANNOT redeem him from this without something major. Female fans will NOT stand for it unless he pays and pays BIG. Domestic psychological abuse is something that a significant number of us have had to deal with and we

REALLY.
DON'T.
LIKE.
IT.

The writers might do well to keep that in mind.

So eBabe and Scott had grief sex (over the demise of their relationships).

A package is delivered to the main house and Scott signs for it. A) the deliveryman doesn't even say whom the package is for, and b) why was it delivered to the main house? Doesn't Adam still have that "crack security team" in place? Even during NON-threatening times he should have guards at the gates that, at a minimum, sign for packages so that the people at the house don't have to deal with mundane things like that.

Aren't rookies usually teamed up with more seasoned officers? Not Natalia. Oh well, I buy her not having a partner WAY better than her, as a cadet, notifying someone (in the middle of a casino, no less) that her husband is dead or her being involved in securing murder scenes.

Kendall chants the Slater mantra to Zach: "Always only you" The part they cut out: "... except when it's somebody else."

I think Aidan's a little rusty. He points his gun at Jesse and the two other uniformed guards/officers and says (regarding Kendall, whom he has in a (fake) chokehold): "Come any closer and she's DEAD!" Uh, shouldn't he be pointing the gun at HER head? How is he supposed to kill her when the gun isn't even pointed at her?

Even if it is proven that someone else killed Stuart, won't Kendall still have to do time for escaping from custody (more than once)? She and her various friends and cohorts escape from justice on a pretty regular basis. And Aidan seems to be involved almost every time.

Kendall wakes up Ryan's bed and yammers on about their problems while Ryan lies there wishing she would shut up and leave. He's feeling bad for having sex with Kendall when he's still mourning for Greenlee. He SHOULD! Jesus, he's had sex in that bed with Kendall, then Greenlee, then Annie, then Greenlee, and then back to Kendall. I wonder if he's even changed the sheets yet.

Did you notice that almost EVERYONE stumbled over their lines today? I wonder what was going on.

Boy was that ever a fake kitten sound coming from the box! It was definitely a PERSON making kitten noises. Sheesh, you KNOW the economy is bad when they don't have enough money in the budget to spring for some kitten mewing sound effects that probably come on a CD with a few thousand other sound effects for $9.99.

Jesse arranged for he and Angie to take Little Adam in temporarily. Oh yeah, no bias THERE.

And how weird was it that Barry Shire, who went over to David's house to draw up papers to wrest custody of Little Adam from the Chandlers to David, went to the PVPD to spring Colby for bonking Krystal on the head so that Krystal couldn't stop JAR from taking off with Little Adam? Oh yeah, no bias THERE.

Greenlee "died" in the water. I wonder if she REALLY wants her ashes scattered in the water.

Ryan explains to Emma that Mittens and Greenlee are both still in Heaven and that's where they both have to stay. What he does NOT explain is why he put the lid back on the cardboard box and is still holding the terrified kitten prisoner in it. Then he sends Emma to take the kitten (still tightly encased in a cardboard box) to the neighbor so they can all ooh and ah over it (probably without ever taking it out of the box). So far, he's having Emma play hooky from school so they can spend a special day together and he's gone out IMMEDIATELY after she came home after spending the night with Corrina, then come home and sent her out again. Okay, so Zach is there and she probably shouldn't hear what they are going to say, but DAMN he's a lousy father! Does Ryan even know Emma's middle name?

I see Amanda and Jake are continuing to blabber at every possible opportunity about their super, super, SUPER-SECRET plans. What better place to talk about it than the ONE place David is almost SURE to be, lurking around every corner?

Frankie and Randi get married. That's nice. Not INTERESTING, but nice.

Are we REALLY supposed to be rooting for the true love of Kendall and Ryan? I mean REALLY? WTF are the writers smokin' that they think the majority of fans would go along with that?

The writers like to portray women as always following their hearts or their passions. Why can't they show them following their BRAINS once in a while?

Did I hear that right? Do we FINALLY know the reason why Aidan has been SOOOO interested in Annie? Zach said: "Take Ryan down, THEN we'll deal with Annie." Well, I guess that's not REALLY a reason. Zach may be setting things up to help her or he may be setting things up to hurt her, or maybe he could care less about that situation except that Aidan is going to help him take Ryan down and wants Zach to help with Annie (one way or the other) in return.

As much as I like Petey, he seems kind of amoral. He'll help Adam bring down Babe's perfume by physically hurting people, he lets Opal have a bad reaction (yeah, he feels bad about it, but not enough to come clean so that she even KNOWS she drank something that is CLEARLY causing an allergic reaction), nor does he come clean when Greenlee has a reaction to it. Then he sides with Aidan to take down Ryan simply because Aidan paid him some money so he can take Colby on dates now that he has become poor. He's pretty wishy-washy. As lovable, funny and endearing as Petey is, how are we supposed to view his lack of values? He WAS a conniving little kid during the Nanny Kendall days, so it's not necessarily out-of-character, especially since we haven't really seen much of him over the years to even figure out WHAT kind of character he has.

Frankly, I was thinking they would eventually debut the adult Petey as a super-conniving (not to mention very smart) adult who DELIBERATELY caused a lot of havoc, just for fun and to get his own way. OR they could have debuted him as someone who outgrew that. The very nerdy young man who seems to take his cues from older adult men in his life (and from Colby), who cares about people one minute but not the next doesn't really gel ... with anything. You just KNOW he'll team up with David at some point to concoct some potion or other. As I said, he's seems very likeable. Maybe he's a conscienceless sociopath and the next serial killer to hit the canvas. His obsession with Colby could be just that -- an obsession.

Annnnnndddd ... here comes the grief sex. Again. And you KNOW that's not even Greenlee that was in the morgue. How do we know that? Because it's a soap and they aren't going to wait for results. Even if Ryan HAD looked under the cover, the body would have been WAAAY too bloated and decomposed to have been Greenlee. Given the competence of pretty much ANY given "professional" on the show, I wouldn't be surprised if the corpse was a MAN and the staff didn't notice because of all the decomp, hungry fishies, etc.

OMG! Krystal actually took some pills WITHOUT milk!

Dr. Sinclair (her name is finally in the IMDB so I know what it is) is a LOUSY shrink! Ugh! She's bitchy and touchy in a hands-on kind of way and leading, jumping to answer her own questions FOR the patient. The foundation of a patient/therapist relationship is trust from the patient and listening from the shrink. A rapport has to be established so that the patient will open up. I wouldn't tell Dr. Sinclair ANYTHING. She seems downright hostile.

Annie FINALLY mentions Emma. I thought it was quite odd that her memory returned, but she didn't appear to have the slightest thought for her daughter -- only about Greenlee and Ryan. It made me think if Casey Anthony who constantly seems surprised and annoyed that everyone else is focusing on her missing (and then found-dead) daughter instead of HER.

And now the shrink says Greenlee needs to see Annie. Oh yeah, THAT'LL help everyone. Again: WORST. SHRINK. EVER.

It was pretty hard to take ADAM on the stand testifying against Krystal, but I about CHOKED when he said he strongly believes a child belongs with its MOTHER! This from a man who has tried over and over and over again to take his children from their mothers. It's pretty tough to take ANYONE in that courtroom seriously or feel sympathy for ANY of them.

Why is Jake still being such a bastard to Amanda? It makes NO SENSE! He's acting like SHE did HIM wrong when HE'S the one who broke off with her to chase after Taylor. I don't buy the "nasty drunk" excuse, either. Being drunk doesn't tend to TURN people mean -- it just allows people to say what they REALLY think without the usual inhibitions. That is SO out of character for him to be nasty to her like that! I understand his anger toward David and toward his ex-wife who ran off with a trucker, but what did Amanda do to him other than give him GREAT sex? Yeah, she's too free and easy with sex for her own good, but so is HE!

Oh, it's about TIME someone said something about Krystal taking drugs!

Krystal testifies that Babe was an "angel on earth". OH BARF!

Speaking of barfing, Amanda suddenly has to make a run for the ladies room to puke, and we all know what THAT means. She's probably pregnant and she won't know if the father is David or JAR (or even JAKE, for that matter), and neither one of them is a prize, although it WOULD make for some nifty child-support ... until one or all of them tries to take the baby away from her and/or one of the four of them kidnaps the poor little thing.

As mentioned on R.A.T.S.A., that angular doorknob in Annie's room is a big no-no. That entire institution is a JOKE!

Does it ever occur to either David or Krystal for her to just take a damn pill rather than dissolving it in milk? It's not like she doesn't know she's being drugged at this point.

And speaking of the drugs, why is everyone focusing on Krystal having an affair with David as grounds to lose ALL custody of Jenny? That's ABSURD! Taking drugs, of her own volition, and continuing to do so, driving while intoxicated and behaving recklessly might factor into it, but I'm pretty sure that having sex with someone other than her husband is not grounds for anything but a divorce. Yet no one is mentioning the the drugs. Tad KNOWS she's taking them because she TOLD him.

Annie SHOT Aidan. Wouldn't the staff at the hospital (or at least Dr. Sinclair) have photos of the people Annie murdered and maimed, if only to familiarize themselves in order to work out a treatment plan?

BC - Mon, 1/12/09

I understand Tad shoving JAR out the door, considering Tad had other things on his mind. HOWEVER, since JAR is clearly inebriated, Tad really should have taken his car keys first.

This has come up before, but I wanted to mention it again. My sister pointed out that the fireplace at the Slater does not have any screens, despite the fact that there are small children (babies even) in the house! Fires are EASILY accessible from TWO sides! Then there's the matter of the ROUGH stone all around the fireplace (all around the entire living room, for that matter). WTF is WRONG with these people? That is NOT a kid-friendly house! The fireplace is nice but it should, at the very least, have been child/baby proofed even before they ever moved in with just Spike in tow, let alone now that there is Spike, Ian, Miranda and Gabrielle! I was thinking about that as I watched Reese swaying while holding Gabrielle -- with the long, trailing pink blanket swaying over and over again toward the open flame. Yeah, it's a fake flame on the set, but still ...

I LOVED seeing that scrunched-up little face the baby made right before it was decided that the baby should quickly exit the scene as she started crying. God, babies are SOOO expressive -- their emotions and reactions can change like lightning, but they ALL flit across their tiny little faces! Not that I'd want to deal with whatever was causing her outburst (based on the fleeting expressions on her little face, I'd say she was taking a dump), but it's entertaining to watch in brief instances :-) Of course, I was so entertained by it that I had to rewind to pay attention to what Reese and Zach were actually saying. Babies (and animals) are also notorious scene stealers.

I thought of my sister again when Reese made the Princess And The Pea comment about Bianca -- in that regard, *I'm* the princess :-)

Brianne Moncrief (Colby) really needs to stop "acting" by simply letting her mouth hang open. It doesn't seem to matter WHAT the scene calls for; she just stands there with her mouth hanging open (well, except for that time she splashed water on Petey's crotch in the pool, but her mouth was probably hanging open then, too). We used to call Dog-Boy/Gabriel Devane "GaPEriel" for the same reason (the Dog-Boy part was because he had been caged and was semi-wild). At The Pine Valley Podcast, they often refer to her as "dead behind the eyes". She's in serious need of acting lessons.

Did you notice in the scene where JAR tells Amanda that her coffee sucks they suddenly started piping in water noises to indicate that they were on a water vessel? I noticed it because I thought there was suddenly a loud, leaky faucet or that perhaps a dripping raccoon was climbing up the ladder out the water. There were also motor noises, which made me wonder if 007 was about to race up alongside the yacht on a jetski and ask for some Grey Poupon.

Tad "gives" Krystal to David. The skank is all YOURS, man. Have at it! Damn, David SOOOO wanted Tad to punch him ... again. I think having Tad lose control and punch him was MUCH more important to him than any other aspect of the whole scenario. Maybe I've been thinking about this all wrong -- he can't help himself -- he CRAVES Tad's touch!

David, the world-reknowned cardiac surgeon, has an ANSWERING MACHINE instead of voice mail. Yeah, RIGHT!

WHOA! JAR trying not to punch David REALLY looked more like he was trying not to passionately KISS him! It was quite the intimate moment between the two of them!

COMMENTS ON FRIDAY'S SHOW:

Unanswered questions: Does Opal ever hear from her son Adrian Sword? Did he send her a Christmas present?

Shouldn't Opal have been getting vibes about Krystal and/or JAR and the gun? Krystal's sexual vibes over David must have been running interference, like in the old days when, if you ran the mixer in the kitchen to make cupcakes, the TV reception in the living room would go screwy.

Opal was so hellbent on finding Krystal that she didn't even ASK Tad about Jamie and Jeff. Oh, she's not acting suspicious, not in the least.

More unanswered questions: Has anyone told Brooke that Jamie is now safe? Has anyone even told her he was "missing" in the first place?

I swear I'm about to the point where I'm going to T-H-R-O-W U-P whenever I see Greenlee and Ryan on the screen! Poor little Emma is trying to adjust to all the MAJOR changes in her life and they just THROW her right into their wedding plans. Those two people are even more selfish, shallow and inconsiderate than Erica, and that's SAYING something.

Here's an idea for Krystal. She says that she needs to be with someone who UNDERSTANDS what it's like to lose a child. Here's a concept: how about attending a support group for parents whose children have died? They probably have an inkling. But nooooo, it has to be someone who lost BABE. David barely KNEW Babe, as everyone keeps pointing out, and Babe didn't even LIKE him, so that doesn't fly at ALL. Krystal just wants his magic milk.

Brot stops at Taylor's and offers her a ride to PT. Where did he get a car?

What can I say about Krystal and her "needs"? She is just PATHETIC! She could not be faithful to a man if her LIFE depended upon it!

Ryan tells Greenlee Annie's locked up and can't hurt her or get at her now. Excuse me? Didn't he think that before Annie walked into the room?

Ryan also says they have to stop focusing on the past and focus on their future together, move on with their lives, etc. He doesn't have the SLIGHTEST sense of propriety. He doesn't have the slightest sense period! How about taking a little time each to get used to where they are in their lives and to come to terms with it?

Oh for God's sake! Now Emma is at another sleepover at Opal's. She was at a sleepover at Opal's LAST NIGHT. She was also traumatized by seeing her mother, whom she hasn't seen for a long time and who didn't recognize her. She needs her father, but all HE needs is Greenlee and sex. I don't care if it IS New Year's Eve - what an asshole!

And now we hear that Jenny and Kathy are going to be a the same sleepover as Emma, so what was the point of them coming home at all? I can see how Kathy and Emma can play together and enjoy a sleepover while their respective parents have their respective meltdowns, but Jenny is a BABY -- I doubt she will enjoy yet another "sleepover". What she'd probably enjoy is the comfort of sleeping in her own bed in her own room with her own mother. Well, maybe not that LAST part ...

How utterly TACKY to name a hospital wing "Babe"! Where's the dignity in THAT? That's like calling it the Cheap Slut Memorial Wing. I LOVED that I paused to type this and when I resumed, David told Jake that HE had bad taste. BWAHAHAHAHAAAAA!

Don't the people on soaps ever get tired of burning candles for every romantic evening they've ever had? Hint: Doing the same predictable thing EVERY time eventually ceases to be romantic and becomes routine and boring.

Someone earlier speculated that they are setting David up to be murdered. They may be right. At the very least, he's being set up for something "really bad".
