Did you hear there was a fire at Oakhaven? No, actually, I did NOT because they jumped ahead and it happened off-screen between JaNut showing Erica the gasoline she had saved up in a shampoo bottle and Kendall and Bianca talking about the fire.

I really HATE the fact that they are showing T__ C___ commercials during AMC, but even more than that I hate that they are showing them as the last commercial before returning to AMC after a spate of commercials, so even if you FF, it's hard to miss at least part of it as you jockey to get to the beginning of the next segment of AMC. How UTTERLY disrespectful to longtime fans of AMC!

I just LOVE JaNut! It was GREAT when she reminded Kendall that she was her cellmate back in 1991 or 1992. Damn, that's about 20 years ago! Kendall had already been aged to her early twenties by then, which means the current Kendall should be in her early 40s. I'm not going to try to pin ages at this point, though, because trying to figure out the Erica/Kendall age timewarp is enough to give ANYONE a migraine.

So not only did Oakhaven burn, but it burned to the ground? That's some kind of fire!

Leo has BEEN in Bhutan or is GOING to be in Bhutan? Or are they in Bhutan NOW? WTF? I can see why David's legs would be cramped after the long drive from Pine Valley to Bhutan. I had to look up Bhutan, which, according to Wikipedia is described as: "officially the Kingdom of Bhutan, is a landlocked state in South Asia, located at the eastern end of the Himalayas and bordered to the south, east and west by the Republic of India and to the north by the People's Republic of China."

Hmm, Zach has a tan, too. That David sure knows how to treat his living corpses well! Can't have them looking wan, now can we?

I'm not even sure how I'm feeling about all this. On the one hand, this is GREAT STUFF! On the other hand, it's pretty far-fetched. But since they are going away ANYWAY, WTH? Might  as well pull out all the stops!

BC - Fri, 7/29/11

JaNut (after being told she is morbid for the "corpse pose" being her favorite yoga position): "What is so morbid about corpses?" Annie: "See, this is why I SO don't belong in here!" JaNut: "You killed your BROTHER!" Annie: "At least I didn't kill my HUSBAND!" Marian: "At least I didn't kill ANYBODY ... recently."

I am LOVING having all of them back AND interacting. And while they are sniping at each other, Erica is lying on the floor like a ... corpse.

Tad told JAR that if he had stuck around Krystal's when Tad was talking about him, he would have heard Tad say that JAR grew up to be every bit the man Dixie thought he would be. Apparently Dixie thought he would grow up to be a flaming asshole. In which case, JAR DOES know that he grew up to the every bit the man his mother thought he would be.

Opal told Tad that he managed to spring Dixie out of Oakhaven way back when. BZZZZT!  Adam had Dixie dragged off to a private sanitarium, Laurel Hill. It was straightened out for me once and for all back in 2008 when I saw a video on Youtube. I mentioned it in the Boogie Chillen for 5/7/08 when I said:

"For years and years I thought that Dixie had been locked away at Oakhaven, but she wasn't.  She was locked away at Laurel Hill.  We FINALLY got that straightened out here relatively recently, I think due to a video from that time that was on Youtube.  Now DIXIE says Adam locked her away at Oakhaven.  Sigh.  Here we go again ...  I wish they'd pick an asylum and stick with it!  I do know that Erica and Gloria Marsh have been at Oakhaven, as has JaNut (I think).  I think the first we heard of Oakhaven was when Erica went there after losing Phil's baby (I think Susan Lucci was HAVING a baby in real life and taking maternity leave)."

Do you think Erica remembers which room she was in at Oakhaven back in the 1970s?

Why is the nurse taking everyone's word for ... well, EVERYTHING? Tad explains that his mother is not crazy, so she says okay, we need the room, anyway. Then she walks away, telling him to wait, just letting him roam the inner halls of a mental facility all on his own. The nurse tells the others that yoga time is over and just walks ahead of the inmates without a backward glance at them, despite the fact that they ALL have violent histories. Then Annie says Erica attacked her and the nurse takes her word for it (and JaNut's word that Erica DID touch Annie) to put Erica into isolation. I'm beginning to think the NURSE is one of the inmates.

Then Erica is able to simply burst into Dixie's room without having to do anything more strenuous than turn the doorknob. It's nice to see that Security is still paramount at Oakhaven.

This is ridiculous! Cervical cancer doesn't develop in a matter of 2-3 weeks after exposure to HPV! If Amanda has cervical cancer as a complication of the HPV virus, then she's had the virus for a very long time and there's no way she got it from JAR  unless she got it from one of their earlier go-arounds.  Which means Jake was also regularly exposed to it prior to her "slip-up" with JAR.

Angie sends Maya in to change the baby so that she can talk to Jesse. After a brief discussion between Jesse and Angie, Maya returns to the room and says that the baby has been changed, they had a little play time and now the baby is asleep. A "little" playtime?  How about a nanosecond? Unless the playtime consisted of the baby flinging her own poop around the room while she was being changed, there definitely wasn't any time for play. There wasn't even any time for proper diaper-changing.

How did Dixie's clothes get changed? She was wearing all gray; when she woke up, she was wearing all brown.

Why would Jack need TAD'S help to find a way to legally get into Oakhaven to see Erica? JACK is the lawyer!

I enjoyed all the repartee and in-jokes about show/character history that were being flung right and left at the Oakhaven

BC - Thu-Fri, 3/17-18/11

So Annie came back to PV to ... what?  Panhandle in a park where everyone knows who she is?

Annie tells Greenlee "I would NEVER leave my daughter alone!"  How about that time she kidnapped her and locked her alone in an abandoned church which Emma then accidentally set on fire?  For that matter, she just told Emma (I think, it's hard to say what Annie's reality is at any given moment now) to go take a shower while she went to find them some food.  I can see where, being on the run, she might go downstairs and leave Emma in the room, but telling her to TAKE A SHOWER while she left the room?  Of course, anything Annie says or does about her intent at the moment is kind of a moot point since she appears to be schizophrenic.

David and Griffin are standing in front of an assignment board.  In the center of the list of procedures that are being done, is Meniscectomy.  When I first glanced at it, though, I thought it said Meaniesectomy.  That made me wonder why David was standing there and not being prepped for his Meaniesectomy [BRRRRRUMPT-TING!]  (P.S.  Meniscectomy is knee surgery.)

While David and Griffin were standing there, there came the LOD.  David stated his opinion that, despite Griffin's plans, Griffin was now in PV for the long haul.  Griffin begged to differ.  Daivd:  "Are you kidding me?  Your sister just married a MARTIN.  If this place were a chocolate factory, they'd be the Oompa-Loompas."

Why do we see women in PV going bonkers on a fairly regular basis, usually due to their feelings about one man or another, but we rarely see the same thing in the guys?  I think the last time we saw that was when Aidan kidnapped Kendall.  Oh we see guys get obsessed with the women in PV all the time, but we almost never see them dragged off to Oakhaven because of it.  They get amnesia sometimes after being bonked on the head, shot or otherwise physically damaged, but the women usually only get amnesia from mental trauma.  To be fair, Ryan did get a combination of the two when a bullet grazed his head and he subsequently (but not right away) forgot who Annie was, despite the fact that they were married and slept in the same bed (he forgot who Emma was, too).

Ah, so Zach DID shoot to frame Annie. He also shot very low, so maybe it will wise someone up that perhaps EMMA did the shooting. Or maybe he just did it low because Annie was on her knees (the way Adam LIKES it ) so it would make sense for the bullet to enter through a lower angle.

Why can't Ryan get his OWN court order to a) keep Annie, the homicidal maniac who has tried (and succeeded) on NUMEROUS occasions to kidnap her daughter, from seeing and influencing Emma, and b) to keep the D.A. from interrogating a traumatized child in the hospital. Emma needs to be interviewed by a person QUALIFIED to interview her for a criminal case. The stupidity of these people never ceases to amaze me.

Erica tells Kendall that she's not CAPABLE of murder. BULLSHIT! Kendall has come close to murdering people on several occasions. She held a gun on Erica, herself, in a restaurant (under the tablecloth). She took a knife with her to Michael Cambias's house. She replaced his allergy medicine with something else. She even let loose a poisonous VIPER in his condo, FGS! She went to Adam's house to K-I-L-L him. Yeah, so she never SUCCEEDED in killing anyone, but it wasn't lack of TRYING. So she couldn't pull the trigger -- BFD! If the gun had gone off accidentally while she was in the process of brandishing it, and someone ended up dead as a result, she would STILL be liable for murder (just ask Phil Spector; oh wait, he's incommunicado in the slammer at Corcoran now; ask the judge, instead). Kendall is QUITE capable of killing someone. She's practically an out-of-control firehose (which can inflict great damage), just mindlessly spraying mayhem in various directions with no real control. Unlike a firehose, though, SHE has certainly formed the INTENT often enough (and I'm probably forgetting some stuff she's done).

Wow, that's the most emotion I've seen from Jamie Luner since she started playing Liza. Maybe there IS hope for her. She hasn't shown the slightest crack in her facade up until today, and it just hasn't been working. The Liza WE knew had some vulnerabilities and a softness that came through even when she was at her most conniving. Part of that was that we already knew the character and actress (on and off) from the time Liza was a teen, but a great deal of it was also that Marcy Walker PORTRAYED her that way in a very nuanced manner. JL plays Liza as simply cold and mostly emotionless -- not because she has a tight reign on her feelings, but because she HAS no feelings. She's like a one-note character. When she laments her relationship with Colby, she might as well be talking about how unfortunate it is that her favorite server at BJ's is cold to her because she forgot to tip her once. MW's Liza was CONSERVATIVE, but she was not emotionless.

Most of the file cabinets in the INTERROGATION ROOM at the PVPD don't even have locks on them. Why would there even BE file cabinets in an interrogation room, let alone file cabinets without locks? Unless those suckers are anchored to the wall, they can be used as weapons. So can those SHARP edges in the cement pillar

Why is Scott, the son of the man Annie is suspected (by some) of MURDERING, allowed to be in the interrogation room alone with Annie? Even is she's not/wasn't a suspect in killing Stewart, she's now a suspect in trying to kill ADAM, Scott's uncle. And even if there WEREN'T those conflicts of interest, why would he be allowed in there to just keep her company or ask her questions while she's chained to a table awaiting questioning by the police?

What happened with the drunken David waiting around Liza's hotel room with the baby? They COMPLETELY dropped that, unless I missed something.

Liza is wearing a lot of carefully applied eye makeup for a women who hasn't had any sleep or been able to comb her hair for a day due to a fussy baby.

Oh, and now Ryan, Annie's ex-husband who had a large part in driving her over the edge, the man who took her daughter away from her, the man who moved her rival into THEIR penthouse practically the MOMENT she was carted away, the man who has to keep fighting tooth and nail to keep Annie from destroying Emma's life, is allowed into the room, alone, to talk to Annie. They BOTH have reason to hate and try to manipulate and/or harm each other. Does the PVPD have shit for brains? (that's a rhetorical question)

Does Emma ever get bothered by having her hair in her face all the time?

And as my sister, Sharlene, said: Why is Emma STILL in the hospital? If she needs to be hospitalized due to her mental condition, send her to the mental ward or off to Oakhaven instead of taking up time and space in the Emergency Room. And stop leaving her all alone in her room since it's obvious that she's perfectly capable of getting up and walking around on her own, not to mention that any stranger could come into her room and do God knows WHAT to her.

BC - Mon, 4/27/09

Yeah, I'm REALLY late on the Boogies. I've had a tough, busy week, but I'm just now starting to watch Monday's show, so here it is.

Colby asks Adam if he ever loved Liza, and he explained that they were probably too much alike and there's not enough room for TWO alpha wolves in the same den, among other things. Then he kindly says: "Why are you asking about this now?" Was I the only one who automatically added one or more of the punchlines to the old Indian joke about naming children? There are different versions, but the gist of the joke is that a child asks how they got their name. The father tells them that either they were named after whatever was happening when they were conceived or by the first thing the father saw when he ran out of the tent upon their birth. The punchlines that *I* know of are a) "But why do you ask, Broken Rubber?", and b) "But why do you ask, Two Dogs F**king?" :-) So I'm trying to think of Colby's Indian name. "But why do you ask, Sperm Switch?" Or perhaps: "But why do you ask, Massive Flooding And Washed Out Bridges?" Of course, there's always the old (true) tradition by changing the name to their current personality or accomplishments: "But why do you ask, Hopelessly Bad Actor?"

Annie's, Ryan's homicidal, kidnapping ex-wife, on the loose. Ryan is VERY much on edge. The doorbell rings and Ryan just walks over and yanks open the door. Idiot. It's just someone delivering a package, but you'd think he wouldn't even ACCEPT a package at this stage. God knows what Annie might think to have delivered to him. She could send him a fresh human heart as a Valentine. Then he reads the return address:

EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA INSTITUE (sic)
FOR THE CRIMINALLY INSANE

I kid you NOT. BWAHAHAHAHAAAA! I think I laughed for a good 30 seconds over THAT one! Wait a minute. It's from Alexander Cambias. I thought he was captured in Las Vegas, not Pennsylvania. Am I missing something. They DID ping-pong back and forth. I wonder if that's the actual name of the Institute (misspelling and all) or if that was AC's joke.

I thought AC was catatonic and b) he was CHOOSING not to talk, because if he did it would show that he was faking. It wasn't that he COULDN'T talk, it was that he WOULDN'T talk.

And they show AC sitting in a cell somewhere grinning. The walls of that cell are plastered with front pages of the PV Bulletin listing the exploits of the Satin Slayer. Yeah, like the Eastern Pennsylvania Institue (sic) of the Criminally Insane would allow THAT. Then again, look at what they named their Institue.

Bianca emotes about how UTTERLY sorry she was that she decided to have a baby with Zach and brought Reese to PV and look at what happened! Kendall tells her she couldn't have predicted what happened. Uh, yeah, she COULD have predicted it -- at least the part about breaking up a marriage and royally pissing off her sister!

BC - Mon, 4/20/09

Annie's transfer to another hospital was really an escape orchestrated by Aidan. It wasn't that long ago that he did something similar to break Greenlee out of a courtroom followed shortly thereafter by her disappearing down a hole, leading to her being poisoned by some weird plant and Aidan and Kendall having grief sex. Oops. WTF is WRONG with him (don't answer that)??? This guy has NO compunction about breaking women out of incarceration, whether it be a penal institution or a mental institution. And I STILL cannot figure out WTF he sees in Annie. Maybe he IS after the $10 million. You'd think Greenlee would have been more aggressive in trying to get it back, but she didn't seem to notice it was missing, even when her company was going down in flames.

Annie is a homicidal maniac. Just because she remembers the childhood trigger doesn't mean she's "cured" -- it just means she remembers it and now has an explanation of how she got that way. I have a pretty good idea about LOTS of things I do or think that stem from childhood traumas, but that doesn't EXCUSE and/or fix them -- it just makes me more aware of WHY I'm that way. Sometimes I get a pretty good handle on things for a long time, but in times of stress, I tend to revert to old habits. From what I've observed, Annie doesn't take well to criticism or romantic rivalry. What will SHE do under stress?

Wow! It's not often we actually SEE the panties come off! I hope Zach is planning to replace that gaming table -- something tells me it will be ... wait for it ...... GAMEY! Brumpt-TING!

Wow, with that red wig on (especially in that style), Annie REALLY looks like Lauren Holly (aka Julie from the 1980s). All she needs now is a hat with 30 buttons on it I suppose the giant sequins on her top will have to do. Why DID he get her clothes with big, gaudy sparkly things on them? I suppose it's his idea of hiding in plain sight. I wonder if he'll advise her to pick her nose in public (causing people to look away -- I remember that from a Richard Dreyfuss movie). The fact is that there will be an alert out eventually that a homicidal maniac has escaped (with his help) and her photo will be on the news -- Nancy Grace will be all OVER it. I can hear her now: "BOMBSHELL TONIGHT! Mentally ill accused kidnapper and accused brother-killer, not to mention sister of CONFIRMED murderer ON THE LOOSE! Deaf father wants NOTHING to do with her, so HOW did this happen! We need a shrink, PRONTO!" Jane Valez Mitchell will also chime in with SHOCKING details! BTW, if you watch Nancy Grace, you'll REALLY appreciate THIS YouTube parody of her. It is DEAD ON

Some people say that having wild, anonymous sex is not Liza's style, but she DID go through a phase like that when she was younger. That got her raped and beaten and she reformed; it served to rehabilitate her in the eyes of many for falsely accusing Jesse of trying to rape her. I still remember Angie's mom, Pat (who was a rape counselor), telling Liza that she was making it much harder for women who really WERE raped and she hoped that it would never REALLY happen to her. Liza stuck to her story, though. I think that's why Jesse fled to NY and met up with Jenny to live in Hell's Kitchen.

I always thought Liza was too conservative when she was with Adam. Anonymous sex on a card table seems to be going a little too far, but we don't know what her life has been like all these years. Maybe they'll portray it as being her way of numbing the pain of being an estranged mother. Then again, when you've gotta have, you've gotta have it. I guess she's never heard of a vibrator. She seems to have targeted Zach, though, so she probably considers him relatively "safe" for her purposes, whatever those purposes might be. I know this will sound blasphemous to some, but I never really warmed up to Marcy Walker playing Liza. Part of it was Liza's frosty character, but part of it was just that she was lacking some kind of spark, IMO. I never watched Santa Barbara, so I only knew Marcy Walker as Liza. She was PERFECT as the hoity-toity, upper-crust teen back in the early 1980s whom we loved to hate, but I was always lukewarm about her as an adult. I'm willing to give this new Liza a chance.

When Liza extended her hand to shake with Zach, there was a little hesitation on his part. Was I the only one who was thinking that they BOTH might be wanting to wash their hands and wondering what kind of residue was on the OTHER person's hand? Stuff that seems deliciously decadent and natural while having sex can seem icky once the clothes are back on.

When Colby returned, Adam refused to let Liza even talk to her and threatened her with legal action unless she stayed away -- FOREVER. Has the statute of limitations run out on kidnapping? Colby was 15 when she returned. How old is Colby supposed to BE now?

What's beeping in Ian's room? Is he wearing some sort of remote monitor, because I don't see any wires connected to him while Ryan is holding him across the room from his crib.

Liza told Jake she's in the private gaming room. Well at least THAT question was answered (along with why there were apparently no other customers at the casino). That casino worker who has long had an eye on Zach wasn't too happy with her. I foresee a rooftop/Miller's Falls situation in their future.

Annie decides not to kidnap Emma after all, saying Emma would be disoriented. She didn't seem to have any qualms about kidnapping her the LAST time, and locking Emma in an abandoned church (which subsequently caught fire) in Puerto Rico.

Liza presses her nose against the glass of the Chandler living room as she spies on Colby and Adam. That crack security team on the Chandler estate never fails to meet our expectations, do they? I guess they've downsized, too (not that it would make the slightest difference).

BC - Mon-Tue, 4/13-14/09

How did Erica clean her face in the tub without removing any of her makeup?

Why does Aidan just barge on into Annie's room without ever knocking? I know he has to sneak in sometimes, but sneaking usually involves being STEALTHY, not BARGING. Annie is surprised each time he does that. Hello? Crazy woman in the room -- she COULD be unpredictable, ya know, so startling her isn't exactly the best approach.

Why is David risking injury to his shoulder and practically cutting off his airway to use a stethoscope on Ian, who is sitting up, but DEEP in a crib or raised playpen (or whatever it is -- let's just call it a baby-pit) and nowhere near the slats? Geez, pick the little guy up and put him on the couch or something.

Ryan is a millionaire whose life is nothing but chaos in the town where nearly everyone has been (or should be) on trial for murder, kidnap or some other kind of mayhem, and his crazy, homicidal ex-wife keeps escaping the loony bin, but he keeps a key to the penthouse under a potted plant in the hallway? Yeah, RIGHT!

Looks like Emma lost a front baby tooth -- I thought she was lisping more than usual.

BC - Wed-Thu, 4/8-9/09

I don't care HOW long Angie and Tad have been friends -- blabbing about Krystal not being able to have any more children is NONE of his f**king business AND it's against the law!

How many times does this make that Tad is involved in helping people to hide their child from the other parent? Let's see, there's the ultimate one (over and over) of Dixie and Adam's baby (JAR), there's helping Liza escape with Colby so Adam wouldn't have her, there's helping Babe and Jamie abscond with Little Adam (aka Jimmy, aka Ace) so JAR and Adam wouldn't have him (not to mention NOT telling Bianca that Bess was really Miranda), and now he's going to help Jake and Amanda run away and hide her and her baby from David. There are probably more that I'm forgetting. Maybe Tad should open a new agency called "We Hide Your Babies So You Don't Have To" (with a nod to The Pine Valley Podcast).

If Jake wants a new identity for him and Amanda so that they can disappear, why is he getting his new (fake) identity papers AT A BAR WHERE EVERYONE IN TOWN GOES?

Why would the school send Emma home without contacting Ryan first, even if Corrina WAS with them on the field trip? And why didn't CORRINA call Ryan to let him know instead of just barging in with Emma?

I think AMC chose the wrong number of people for JAR to say he laid off -- either that or he misspoke. While 500 people lost their jobs, Chandler Enterprises is supposed to be a BIG company -- laying off 500 people to save a conglomerate that's circling the drain isn't going to cut it. Usually that means THOUSANDS of people lose their jobs.

Isn't Annie even a little bit curious about what happened to Tori's body after Richie killed her? The last we saw, her father was at the top of the stairs calling her name as she stood over the body with a baseball bat. Aidan is pretty cocksure of his diagnosis of Annie as no longer being dangerous just because she had ONE breakthrough just last night, and he insists that she knows ALL the answers now. Uh, no, she DOESN'T. And Ryan is supposed to take AIDAN'S word that she's all better now? Does her doctor even KNOW that she's had this epiphany?

I think they forgot that Ian was awake and babbling (which he could only do on his back or side), because between one sentence of Kendall's and the next he apparently rolled back onto his belly and was out like a light.

BC - Mon, 4/6/09

WTF? At the end of Friday's show Annie thanks God that Aidan is there as he envelopes her in his strong, manly arms; then she introduces him to Tori, who Annie thought was sitting in a chair. Aidan saw that there was no one there and said so. Annie was actually TALKING to the imaginary Tori. When TODAY'S show opened, however, Annie thanks God that Aidan is there as he envelopes her in his strong, manly arms, and tells Aidan Tori's been helping her out; then she is surprised because Tori has apparently left the room. Can't they keep their story straight from one SECOND to the next??? This reminds me of the movie MISERY where Annie (hmmm) Bates gets incensed because when she was a kid they showed a serial cliffhanger at the theater with a man going over a cliff in a car, but in the next installment the following week, the man was no longer in the car. "HE DIDN'T GET OUT OF THE COCK-A-DOODY CAR!!!" That's what AMC is doing!

Oh look, there ARE actually people who work at Oakhaven that have access to Annie's room! Two orderlies came in to tackle her. Then Annie's cute doctor (whom we haven't seen for quite some time) comes in and asks Aidan what happened, so at least we aren't imagining AIDAN. Unless, of course, this is all AIDAN'S imagination. Maybe if Annie's doctor showed up more than once a month or so he'd have an idea of what happened. Then he mentions how they've given Aidan great leeway in visiting Annie because it seems to be helping. I hope that leeway includes condoms! How could the doctor POSSIBLY sanction Aidan having sex with a criminally insane patient because it seems to be helping her mental clarity?

Colby complains that her own brother doesn't trust her to protect her father, yet Petey shows up in the park with a shovel, ready to bury a body (he was anticipating the murder of David Hayward since Colby was so mad at David). She asks what's wrong with the picture. The sick part is that she doesn't seem to think the wrong part was Petey's complete willingness to help her bury a body, no questions asked. Petey is like a blank slate, ready to be filled with whatever the writers feel like scribbling on any given day. He has no moral compass whatsoever, and no feelings, either, other than a) an all-consuming (not to mention inexplicable) passion for Colby, and b) embarrassment over his mother. Even his feelings for Colby must be wishy-washy, considering he was willing to sacrifice himself only a day or so before to marry Amanda in order to give Amanda's baby his name. He's not evil, nor is he good. He's not even in-between! He's just THERE, living from moment to moment. The actor has great comedic timing and often steals the scene, but the character is more disjointed than a rubber chicken. He's like water, just flowing around and having it's course altered by slight changes in the landscape.

Would a shrink REALLY have to "report everything back to the DA" in the case of someone who may or may not be criminally insane? If Annie is being treated to get to the point of being competent to stand trial, would the DETAILS of everything she says during treatment be admissible in court? How do they know if anything she says right NOW is the truth if she's not "cured" yet? Is the good doctor going to mention that she's having frequent sex with Aidan while under lockdown and "in treatment" and that it seems to be helping?

Ian is under sedation and has just had heart surgery -- should he REALLY be sleeping on his BELLY? He could stop breathing and not be able to lift his head. Besides that, it must hurt his poor little chest to have that kind of pressure put on it. For that matter, how DO they keep a toddler from busting stitches after open-heart surgery? Do they have to put him in a little body cast, at least for the chest area?

BC - Fri, 4/3/09

I missed the first minute or so due to a special report. It rejoined with Annie telling Aidan she knows she killed someone else and is sure of it. What did Annie see/remember to make her think this? I gather she had a dream of some sort.

Annie wonders why Aidan sticks with her. He says he loves her. WHY????? WTF is WRONG with him? What part of her is the lovable part, other than, perhaps, her nether regions which, let's face it, he can get from any number of sources that aren't necessarily homicidal and psychopathic and don't come with enough baggage to buckle the carousel at an international airport.

I still don't believe Aidan is constantly going in and out of Annie's room at Oakhaven, having sex with her and giving her frequent psychiatric counseling sessions, yet we NEVER see an actual DOCTOR come in, and no one but Tori even suspects that he's ever been there -- and Tori is imaginary (confirmed by the end of today's show).

Oh look, Tori does have different clothes (a yellow sweater vs a blue one)! I guess even imaginary people like to wear different colors occasionally. The yellow is very Easter-ish.

Did I miss something? David said Ian RECENTLY underwent a sternotomy to have a hole in his heart repaired. When did that happen? What's his definition of "recently"? I'm pretty sure I would remember Kendall and Zach agonizing over THAT or, at the very LEAST, mentioning it in passing, but all we've seen is Kendall coming out of her coma, driving around in another state and killing her best friend, and then f**king Ryan over and over again, leaving her children with others most of the time. Am I missing a big chunk of time? Do I have Alzheimers? I'm guessing he's talking about something that was done when Ian was first born, but if that's the case, they should clarify it. The word "recently" has a whole different meaning when you are talking about a toddler vs an adult or even a 3-yr-old.

Oh, I SOOOOO wanted to just slug Ryan in the belly with a mallet when he told Erica he's going to the hospital to make sure Zach isn't going to try to use baby Ian's illness to manipulate Kendall. WTF???? That's EXACTLY what Ryan is doing in going to the hospital -- using the baby's condition to manipulate Kendall AND Zach and to stick it to Zach when Zach is at his most vulnerable!

There's been a lot of speculation for quite a while now that David Hayward might be murdered. And that's just been on the internet -- now even PETEY voiced a concern about it within the show. I'm beginning to think that's not going to happen, though. Now I think RYAN is the one who will be murdered and it will be at the hands of fed-up AMC fans. One day he'll open his mouth and say and/or do something and the fans, in a single moment of clarity, will collectively say:

"THAT'S IT!!!"

Everything that has ever gone wrong in our entire lives will suddenly coalesce into that one moment in time and that one character. If David Hayward gets killed, it will only be because he wasn't fast enough to get out of the way and was crushed by the stampede of pissed-off fans (no doubt carrying torches and pitchforks) who are trying to get to RYAN. At the very LEAST, Ryan will get a thong wedgie that he'll NEVER forget! He'll be singing soprano and trying to dig that thong out of his butt-crack for the rest of his life!

Aidan researches something on the internet and discovers that a little girl named Tori Atherton went missing in 1987. So Annie either had something to do with it or she IS Tori. I wish they wouldn't go that route (of missing children). It's very upsetting with so many of them in the news. It's also upsetting to be constantly reminded of how bad the economy is. I watch AMC to ESCAPE reality, not to be reminded of it at every turn.

How did the hospital rule out anything based on STUART'S medical records? It makes NO SENSE that Adam was able to check in as Stuart and get by with STUART'S medical records. Stuart hasn't had any strokes, only Adam has. Why is the doctor even talking to JAR and Tad? It's a matter of public record that Stuart is married to Marian, so wouldn't they need HER permission to talk to anyone else? I suppose I could fanwank it so that Adam, pretending to be Stuart, told the hospital it was okay to talk to JAR about it, or even that Marian and Stuart are in on it and playing along, but this whole thing is just plain STUPID.

And now Adam has a "mood disorder"? Are they going an Uncle Junior (The Sopranos) route with him, giving him real or pretend Alzheimers? Wait a second! Are he and Stuart swapping in and out of the hospital? No, Stuart wouldn't be drawing Erica; but Adam has never exhibited the slightest interest in drawing things, whereas Stuart has been a lifelong artist. Hmmmmm. Maybe there's a THIRD brother or Adam has multiple personalities (pardon me -- Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID)). Okay NOW it's starting to at least get slightly interesting.

Adam looks HOT in street clothes! JUMP HIM, ERICA!

The first two comments are actually from Tuesday, 3/31, but I didn't feel that they merited their own Boogie Chillen.

Is it my imagination, or does Tori always wear the same clothes?

Why doesn't Annie ever seem to have any therapy with actual .. I don't know ... THERAPISTS? What kind of psychiatric training does Aidan have that HE'S the one who keeps having counseling sessions with Annie.

So now Amanda and Jake are discussing the plans for her baby, THE BIG SUPER SECRET, with a lawyer in a fucking BAR. The stupidity of these two dolts simply defies description.

If Jesse and Angie thought David suspected something after seeing the puppet drawing on Angie's hand, why didn't they CALL Natalia and warn her that David might show up? Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Ryan says he never put up ANY resistance about his son being raised in a different household. Excuse me? I believe he DID threaten to take Spike away from Kendall at one point (before he was even born, I think).

When Kendall walked behind Jack and put her hands on his shoulders to console him over Greenlee's death, how many of you wondered if she was going to have grief sex with HIM, too? Come on, I KNOW I wasn't the only one who had that flash through their minds

Jack said something about the deed to Greenlee's apt that he gave her. Huh? Greenlee bought that apt WAAAY before she ever knew Jack was her father. Did he pay it off and then present her with the deed?

How is it that JAR can keep a scowl on his face even when he's unconscious?

When Kendall said "My best friend is GONE!", was I the only one who, at first, heard her say "My bedspread is GONE!"? Shades of All My Luggage If I actually WATCH her say it, it's clear, but if I look away when she says it (reproducible), it sounds like bedspread. The whole bedspread thing and her angst over losing it might have something to do with her bad habit of having extra-marital sex whenever both parties are grief-stricken. Perhaps she should speak to Lysistrata Schwartz about it.

I think Tori is a figment of Annie's imagination, just like Annie having sex with Aidan in her room. Either that or she's a reporter.

I don't buy this Annie/Aidan lovefest at ALL. Okay, maybe on Annie's part, but Aidan sounds ridiculous and saccharine. PLEASE tell me that it's all in Annie's mind!

Kendall grouses with Ryan over the stupidity of the institution of marriage and then says that at least THEY were smart enough not to have gone through with it. EXCUSE ME? They didn't go through with it because Ryan spitefully married Greenlee (in a marriage of convenience, initially) so that Greenlee could still work at Fusion (or was it Cambias? Whatever). There was no "WE" in that decision other than Ryan being a big wee-wee.

There are photos of Babe in David's living room. Why aren't there any photos of David's little baby Leora?

Why is Frankie doing something as personal as an ultrasound in a room the the doors wide open to the hallway?

Why is BARRY SHIRE a lawyer for David in the custody suit over Little Adam? He's ADAM'S lawyer and has been for at least 20 years! Talk about a conlfict of interest!

Why isn't Taylor showing even the tiniest effects of smoke such as smudged cheeks or clothes? For that matter, neither is anyone else, even though Brot was pretty soot-covered when he carried Opal out. I can see where they might have had time to clean up, but everyone was pretty much SPOTLESS. Aions, Bad-Doctoring, nd not ONE of them (except Opal) is showing the SLIGHTEST physical effect from all that smoke. They should ALL be quite hoarse and coughing.

Well, Annie is obviously on the fast-track to healing. It won't be long before they let her out, despite the fact that she killed and tried to kill several people. It brings to mind the guy who had a psychotic break on a Greyhound bus in Canada. They decided only a few days ago that, due to his mental illness, he's not criminally responsible for the unprovoked stabbing, beheading and cannibalization of another young man on the bus. There were parts of the murdered man all over the bus and some organs (like his eyes and most of his heart, nose, part of his tongue and maybe an ear or two) were completely missing and presumably eaten. The killer is going to be institutionalized, but if he takes his meds regularly, he'll probably be fine from day to day; but you just KNOW that at some point he'll be let out because of overcrowding or budgeting or even a simple error in paperwork. Once out he will probably stop taking his meds eventually and everyone around him will be at risk. Hopefully he'll NEVER get out, but you just never know.

What happened to the armed guard that was ordered for Reese's room to keep Zach away? He/she never showed up from what I could see.

Why didn't the doctor make Zach leave the room when he came in to remove Reese's bandages? The LEAST he could have done was to ask Reese (who had JUST told Zach, in no uncertain terms, to LEAVE) if she wanted him in the room while the doctor examined her. The doctor didn't even know who Zach WAS! Do the hospital gynocologists do the same thing?

Isn't the benefit (or is it just a launch party?) for the Babe Chandler wing supposed to be some sort of "gala"? Why would David a) wait until the day before the event to even START planning it, and b) why would Krystal be working on it? I mean, REALLY! David could afford to hire professional party planners; for that matter CAMPBELL'S can afford to do so. They keep saying that Campbell's is part of it, but I don't see Campbell's pitching in except to provide LOTS of tomato-based products and send a couple of representatives to the party. You'd think they would want more say in the matter. For all they know, there are erotic cakes on display for dessert.

For that matter, who would WANT to go to the party? Babe was hardly a saint, even if the show kept trying to cram down our throats that she was despite YEARS of evidence to the contrary. "Babe" is a STUPID and downright OFFENSIVE name for a hospital wing. NOBODY other than Krystal even LIKES David. Krystal, herself, isn't too high on most people's lists right now. The only reason I can think of for people to even attend the party is for free drinks which, unfortunately, will probably mostly consist of more tomato and fruit drinks. The Chandlers were there because of Babe (as long as all the Chandlers are going to be there, maybe they should get their lungs and blood checked for toxicity after Adam burned Little A's car in the fireplace). I hope Krystal calls in her trucker friends to make it memorable. At least then Winnie would show up.

Again, WHY isn't Annie in a locked ward? She KILLED and TRIED to kill several people, but she's right there in a VERY open room with no kind of fetters whatsoever, just because her doctor was trying to kill HER and was treating her unethically. The fact that her doctor was a whackjob doesn't make Annie any LESS of a whackjob OR less likely to do harm to someone. Don't they at least have a locked psych ward to keep her in temporarily? For that matter, why is she still there at ALL? She got a bump/cut on the head, and for that she's taking up a BED in a private room? They could have treated THAT at Oakhaven. If the private room were at least LOCKED that might be acceptable, given the circumstances, but this is just plain wasteful and ludicrous! At one point (when she DID start to freak out), a uniformed man came in, but it was unclear if that was a police officer or hospital security. Either way, he didn't look like he was sticking around very closely.

Who sprang for all the hospital staff to wear red scrubs during the day BEFORE the party? That's not what they usually wear (I would hope not, since patients really don't want to be reminded of blood any more than necessary). David probably made everyone get new red scrubs for the day (and ONLY that day) and then docked their pay for it. Did Campbell's pay for the scrubs (they SHOULD have since it's basically advertising)? I would think that money would have been better spent on ACTUAL health care. They also put down red carpets for the party -- how many immunizations for children could THAT have paid for? It was probably a rented rug, but still ...

There's been a lot of discussion about Kendall's totally unrealistic movements since her heart transplant and the possibly of her chest breaking open again (driving, climbing down cliffs, (giving BIG, HARD hugs) etc). It got me to thinking ... she's probably wearing a tight, uncomfortable bra. What's the rule on bra wearing after open heart surgery? Then again, that may be the only thing holding her ribs together at this point. If she takes it off, she's liable to BLOW like a kernel of popcorn in a microwave.

Speaking of Kendall's breast area, did she get them enhanced during her coma? My sister asked that and she may be right. They aren't glaringly obvious like Erica's, but they DO seem somewhat bigger now. Maybe Zach slipped David a little something extra to enhance them as long as he was already futzing around in the general area. Maybe Josh donated his balls, too

Did you see the SIZE of that needle Dr. Sinclair was brandishing??? Do they even MAKE needles that big for PEOPLE? It wasn't a needle so much as an ice pick! I find it hard to believe it went through Sinclair's arm without sticking out on the other side and downright IMPOSSIBLE to believe she didn't feel it going in.

Why on EARTH would Emma be with Kendall right now? Ryan now HATES Zach and Kendall isn't in any condition to be taking care of kids right now.

Wait a second -- how the HELL did Aidan manage to take Annie, who IS still a patient/prisoner at Oakhaven, to PVH? Just because Annie's doctor tried to kill Annie and inadvertently ended up getting stuck with the horse-needle herself doesn't mean that Annie isn't still INCARCERATED. The administrator (wasn't he fired?) was even standing right there! Annie should have been hustled off to another room, not left alone with Aidan with her door hanging open! Even Angie was concerned about her safety when left alone with Annie in an exam room. If Annie had to go to the hospital, she should have an armed guard(Aidan doesn't count).

I don't feel even REMOTELY sorry for Ryan. He walks into the penthouse feeling desolate and angry and I just don't care. At all.

If Bianca's lawyer already knew that Reese has parental rights as far as Gabrielle goes, why was she trying so hard to make Reese sign the papers? Reese was right to rip the papers up, not only because she does not want an annulment, but because she has NO legal representation as far as the annulment, property or child custody goes! Bianca IS being a bitch and out-of-character, but I don't think it's THAT out-of-character for anyone, even the sweetest person in PV, to go into full-on bitch mode in that kind of situation. It doesn't help, but it IS realistic. When it comes to people getting divorces (or annulment's), just about ANY kind of behavior can emerge.

How do you leave a door unlocked (Annie's room at Oakhaven) that locks automatically?

Why would Ryan and Greenlee travel up to the wedding separately?

Okay, Ryan said something about Emma being taken care of for the evening festivities and Rachel is apparently coming up to take care of her after the wedding. What about Spike and Ian? Ryan says Spike is sick -- either he is or he was just TOLD that because Kendall wasn't going to go. If Rachel didn't know Spike was sick, who is taking care of Spike and Ian now that Kendall and Zach ARE going to the wedding? Spike doesn't appear to be with Ryan, and Kendall is NOT up to full-time childcare at the moment.

Apparently Kendall never wants to see Bianca ever again -- at least she never wants Zach to see his baby (or Reese) ever again.

Does Kendall know yet that Zach is the one who shot Josh?

Aidan and Dr. Sinclair both KNOW that Annie will go after Greenlee and try to kill her. Neither of them seems concerned with letting Greenlee and/or Ryan know that Annie has escaped (again) and is gunning for them, though.

How did Annie get all the way from Oakhaven, which is presumably in Pine Valley, all the way to the Inn in Connecticut with no money or resources? She probably assaulted someone and stole whatever she needed. She always WAS resourceful.

If Ryan and Greenlee rode up on their bikes, how did Emma (who walked in with them) get there? It kind of seems like Ryan did NOT take his motorcycle, unless it was being towed behind him or attached to an SUV.

Maybe Gabrielle was crying because she didn't like her face being smushed up against the hard sparklies on Opal's dress.

Should Kendall really be drinking alcohol so soon after her transplant? Wouldn't that interfere with her medications?

Oh puh-leeze! Zach is already in such hot water with Kendall and now he's making out with REESE? Yeah, we saw it coming, but for all he professes to love Kendall and he'll stick it out with her, etc., that's just bogus, even if he IS feeling a lack of nookie.

Tidbit: February 10 is on or about Jesse's birthday.

Is it just me, or does Livia look like a frosted pastry in the grocery store bread aisle, or perhaps a freshly drizzled cinnamon bun, popover or bunt cake? I was so fascinated by her hair that I had to rewind the scene to know what it was even about. at the very first commercial break after I wrote that, they showed a Pillsbury Toaster Strudel commercial whereupon they drizzled frosting all over one! First Greenlee bleeding on the floor of Fusion to remind us of Fusion Red and now Livia looking like frosted toaster strudel -- don't tell ME that's not product placement!

How is it that people keep getting into the Maximum Security Ward unseen? Wouldn't it, by DEFINITION, have security cameras at LEAST on the doors?

Ryan saying he needed to know that Annie was no longer a threat to his wedding day or any other day was the reason for him being not only at Oakhaven (at night), but IN THE MAXIMUM SECURITY WARD is totally bogus! He could, oh, I don't know, CALL Dr. Sinclair to discuss it with her or make an appointment to see her in person, not just pop up in a secure area like some kind of toaster strudel.

Today's blatant product placement: Natalia toasting Jesse at ConFusion with Fusion V-8. I wonder what the markup is if you buy it at a bar (where the set it on the table for you like it was a bottle of wine). Did they pour some in Natalia's glass first so she could swirl it, sniff it, sip it and pronounce it acceptable? Brot was also drinking Fusion V-8. Jake had a martini, though. That's only because they are going in the direction of him having a "drinking problem", though, so they don't want to link THAT to their sponsor. Then he had a beer (as did Tad) back at Tad's place to reinforce a brotherly bonding scene.

What, exactly, is Dr. Sinclair going for in trying to force a confession out of Annie? All she has to do is testify that Annie confessed to her and that she finds her to be faking. All things considered, telling that story without a confession from Annie would be a simple matter for her to do. Does she have the room videotaped? If so, I would think they could bring her up on charges just for the way she GOT a confession!

Is this day in Pine Valley EVER going to end? People have been in the same clothes for what seems like a very long time. Reese and Bianca went to bed and Bianca slept and then woke and they were STILL wearing the same clothes they were wearing last Wednesday. Then they moved to the Casino and had a fight and Reese went downstairs to drown her sorrows and they STILL were wearing the same clothes. Tad planted drugs at David's place, David was busted and blackmailed into dropping charges, Angie and Jake both went back to work and apparently put in a full day. Brot is working and Taylor is visiting him and all the doctors were on duty until a few minutes ago, even though it was now WELL into the night. Rebecca finds out her chemo isn't working, buys presents for everyone, says goodbye, flies back to Denver and commits suicide, and Krystal was STILL wearing her clown collar top (which she was wearing on last Thursday's show) while she and Tad were divvying up their properties with their lawyers, even though it is now WELL into the night. Kendall said goodnight to Zach quite a while ago (he declined to go to bed and went to the Casino and ended up commiserating with Reese instead). Greenlee and Erica had a fight a the office AFTER DARK, whereupon Greenlee was knocked unconscious, taken to the hospital and treated, had a heart-to-heart with Erica about Kendall, went to the Slater house (possibly stopping to buy a formal dress for Kendall on the way), made Kendall try a dress on and got her to spill her guts (so to speak). The doctors go to Fusion to celebrate Jesse's birthday. Krystal FINALLY changes her clothes, but they make a point of it because she and David are going out to dinner, not because it's a new day. Natalia is also wearing different clothes, but it's only natural she would change to go out. Despite all that, that SAME NIGHT Angie ruminates that she should have sensed something "the day Rebecca left". HELLO? REBECCA LEFT EARLIER ~~~TODAY~~~!!! And you DID sense something about the way she said goodbye -- that was VERY clear! Then Natalia receives a letter that came "overnight from Denver". How did Rebecca send something overnight from Denver the day BEFORE she went back to Denver? This is TOTALLY a time-warped day!

BC - Mon, 2/9/09

Dr. Sinclair apologizes to Annie for HITTING HER and says it was out of line and unprofessional of her. Ya THINK?

It's awfully bright in the Fusion office, especially since the windows indicate that it's nighttime. If they want to cut costs, they should remove some of that overhead lighting. Speaking of it being nighttime, why does the phone at Fusion keep ringing? It rarely rings during the DAYTIME.

Did you notice that Kendall is wearing gray, even after changing her clothes? I think it's a deliberate choice to try to make her look more pale and sickly.

I LOVED that little interlude where Erica asked Petey if he could handle the place alone while she went out on an errand. Petey scoffs: "Is an electron NEGATIVE?" Erica just stares blankly at him. Now THAT was funny! It was even funnier when he tossed the candy in the air to catch with his mouth and hit himself in the eye with it That guy's a keeper! I lost a soft contact lense once in a little half bathroom back in the 1980s. It did NOT go down the sink. So where was it? I never DID find it and I searched high and low without ever leaving the tiny room. To this day I wonder if it's lost inside my head somewhere.

As an observation, clearly Petey CAN'T handle it on his own because he's made no move to answer the incessantly ringing phone. None of them have. Is the ringer stuck? I used to live on a street behind a Toyota dealer. They had the phones connected to an outside pager tone so that if someone was on the lot they would know the phones inside were ringing. One night, after they had all left, the phone rang and rang and rang ALL NIGHT LONG! So all night long we got the LOUD tones in some sort of pattern (1 long, then 3 short, followed by 4 seconds of silence and then it would repeat). It drove me CRAZY!

Annie says Dr. Sinclair talks just like Richie used to talk to her -- so calm and so smooth. Really? I think she's RARELY calm and gets shrill on a regular basis. She's quite the harpy, in fact. Still, I suppose I should cut Annie some slack, considering she's nuts.

Did Annie just get her lips plumped again, while in the loony bin? Do they bill it to her room?

Okay, if Rachel is at the casino suite with the Miranda and Gabrielle, and Zach is at the Casino because Kendall is giving him the cold shoulder, who's watching Ian and Spike? The nurse? Kendall certainly isn't up to it at this point.

That black dress Kendall is trying on (for Greenlee's wedding) looks like it's choking her (especially the ruffly part that looks like a hairy snake working its way up one side on the way to encircling her throat). Maybe the style is a subtle indication that she has a scar (it probably still has stitches) that needs to be covered up. It is NOT flattering a flattering look for her, IMO.
