Angie tells Natalia that she's going to go to church to beg God for forgiveness for wishing Madison dead (more than twice). Now Madison IS dead. I can just hear God now: "Oh, NOW you tell me!"
Why are the incriminating DVDs that Madison had just casually occupying a chair at Frankie and Randi's apt? Considering that little ceremony Angie made them perform about forgetting about it from this moment onward, you'd think they would have included DESTROYING THE EVIDENCE in the process. Not that Madison's father couldn't have EASILY made copies of them.
Speaking of destroying evidence, don't even get me STARTED on how RIDICULOUS Frankie's method of finally destroying them was! Too late, I'm started! If you have a decent paper shredder, you can shred a CD or DVD (good ones have slots for just that). You can also take pointy instruments such as scissors or screwdrivers and gouge the hell out of it. Or, as Taylor said in R.A.T.S.A, just break it. They really aren't that strong. I sometimes used to get broken DVDs from Blockbuster and/or Netflix just from them being crammed into mailboxes or possibly stuck in machines at the post office. Cassette tapes are even easier to destroy. Pull the tape out and cut it up with scissors. Sticking tapes and CDs/DVDs in a wastebasket and setting them on fire (with the help of lighter fluid) is beyond S-T-U-P-I-D and quite dangerous on several levels. BTW, don't Frankie and Randi have a smoke alarm?

BC - Tue, 8/18/09
OT/TAN: I'm only just now watching Tuesday's show. Moving is exhausting and time-consuming! The big move happens on 8/29, so things should settle down after that. I'll even have access to SoapNet!
Okay, I have to say it -- that hairstyle is MUCH too young-looking for Angie. It's hard to take her seriously when she looks like that. She looks like she's on her way to the airport to welcome the Beatles to the States.
So Randi took the baby. That's such a trite storyline. Woman loses baby, woman steals baby. At least she doesn't seem to be so deluded that she thinks the baby is hers, although she does seem to think that finders-keepers applies. The poor baby must be stinky, diaper-rash-plagued and starving by NOW.
It's the second half of August -- why is there a fire in the Slater fireplace? And why are there lit candles all over the place? It's not even nighttime. The romance of fire kind of loses its sizzle in the daytime, especially in the dog days of summer. The romance will fizzle out even quicker if Spike wakes up and wanders into the living room to take a closer look at the pretty flaming candles.
Uh, don't vaccinations have to be done at least 48 hours before any exposure to a virus? Erica won't have any time to build up immunity if she's leaving for Africa in a few hours.
Natalia's reaction to finding out that Randi "found" the baby is pretty underwhelming. She's acting like Randi found a pair of shoes, was wearing them and Natalia's saying: "Girl, you canNOT wear THOSE shoes with THOSE pants." Except she says it with less concern than she would if there really WERE clashing shoes involved.
Whoever filmed and/or edited the NYC scenes should be FIRED. They couldn't keep anything in focus for more than a half a second and everything was sped up and wildly swinging from one shot to the next. Yeah, I know it's supposed to be artsy and light-hearted, but it's making me dizzy. And they keep shifting from day to night to day and back to night again. A good ending to the scene would have been for the guy pedaling the cart that was hauling them around to have let loose a REALLY loud and pungent fart. Honestly, those shots were worthy of an Ed Wood movie.
If Randi believes that she lost her baby because she did bad things in the past, what does she think will happen to THIS baby now that she's picked it up?
Oh great -- here comes another romance novel from Kendall.
My sister, Sharlene, said:
"OMG ... Ryan just kissed Erica ... that would be like me making out with my son-in-law ... EEWWWWWW!!! Aside from the yuck factor, Ryan and Erica scenes around New York doing fun stuff is a bit sad, considering they are moving the show to California. Once again I have to say that Kendall is too dumb to live ... Damn, she's such an impulsive IDIOT!!!!! Time for another coma ... PLEASE!" I agree with my sister on all counts!
Erica said she's wondering if she'll be different somehow when she gets back. Was that supposed to be a veiled allusion to the big move to California? Is Susan Lucci staying in NY? Will Erica be different when she returns from Africa because someone ELSE will be playing Erica?
Here's a possible scenario. Perhaps what will happen is that she'll be riding an elephant for a publicity shot, but the elephant goes rogue and thunders off before anyone can stop it, with Erica clinging to whatever one clings while on top of a rogue African elephant. Months later she will finally be rescued from a group of chimpanzees that allowed her to stay amongst them for the duration. The female champanzees will be wearing grass skirts and halter-tops made from vines and leaves. They'll have blossoms in their head hair and will have learned to eat with their pinkies stuck up in the air. A few of them will have learned to make stiletto heels with twigs, leaves and vines and can be seen gamely trying to figure out how to walk on them using their feet AND hands. When the males come sniffing around, the females all start to act coy and begin doing simian simper-dips. The males just roll around in the dirt, bonk themselves on the head, leer at the females and yank them around, and puff out their chests, pounding on them and each other, which is kind of what the males in PV do on a daily basis, anyway.
Erica, in the meantime, will have learned to climb trees without breaking her nails and become an excellent groomer. She never WAS one to eat much, so she willingly gave away the nits, fleas, lice and assorted vermin that she finds in their fur, which was an excellent way to form bonds of friendship and curry (so to speak) favor with desired allies -- this also helped to keep her from being beaten to a bloody pulp. She was already well-versed in the art of throwing hissy fits and flinging things around when she was mad. Her close association with Ryan and his chimpanzee mannerisms had laid the groundwork for her to look speculatively at the alpha male of the troupe. In the meantime, she tried to sabotage the alpha female in whatever ways she could, mostly by trying to get the other females to turn against the alpha female by telling lies about her as she groomed the others and gave them little tiny braids. Getting rid of bodily wastes was not an issue for Erica, and it never was -- in all her life she's only used bathrooms for taking baths, catfights and getting stabbed, after all. Oh, she still had catfights and got stabbed, but bathing didn't happen as often. She will also be sporting some bitemarks, a torn ear and some bald patches, which would lead the way for plastic surgery so that when they put another actress in the role, we'll be EXPECTING her to look different. Dr. Fashionella, alas, is not available to restore her face to exactly the way it was before her sojourn with the chimps, having met a similar fate in the rain forests of Brazil.
I'd say Erica would just be dragged off by lions, but lions like a little MEAT on bones, and I'm pretty sure lions would HATE eating silicone even if they DID bother with her as a snack. I can just hear them now: "PTUI! Ugh! I KNEW I shouldn't have tried this appetizer! I can't BELIEVE the things they put into the food supply these days! I'm telling you, Ralph, do NOT eat that part! Convenience foods can taste so plastic-y sometimes!"

Ryan is acting like Emma is catatonic. She doesn't look catatonic to ME. So she pulled a pillow over her head and refused to talk to anyone. BFD! She's obviously depressed and doesn't want to talk to anyone, but that's hardly a reason to take her to the EMERGENCY ROOM. That's not a psychotic break, that's a depressed version of a TANTRUM. Granted, tantrums probably COULD be interpreted as psychotic breaks if you look at them out of context, but they're pretty normal for children (and more than a few adults). I can't WAIT until she's a teenager. If Ryan's solution to a tantrum by a 7-yr-old is to put her in the emergency room, wait until he has to deal with telling her she can't go out dressed like that or that she's grounded.
Don't get me wrong -- Emma IS traumatized by what she saw and/or did, but Ryan is WAAAAAAY overreacting. I don't think I've EVER seen him discipline her. He just talks in a very concerned voice and tries to reason with her about why she shouldn't do whatever it is that she did or that she shouldn't lie. Just once I'd like to hear him say "GO TO YOUR ROOM!" Emma has a LOT of potential for the next SORASED (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome (formerly known as Pine Valley Glandular Disease back in the late 1980s or early 1990s)) hellion, as does Kathy.
BTW, I think Lucy Merriam (Emma) is doing a GREAT job lately!
If Emma is curled up into a ball in a hospital room, WTF is Ryan sitting OUTSIDE the room in the hallway with Erica??? You don't bring your child to the emergency room and then just leave her there alone!!!
I'm glad to see that at least ONE person on the show (Zach) keeps his gun(s) in a SAFE.
Why does Tad keep quipping about TVs? First he makes a big deal about installing a digital converter (even though he undoubtedly has cable and/or satellite, which is already digital), and then jokes about Amanda buying him a flat-screen TV (after she knocks over and breaks Taylor's TV). Why does this bug me? Because I distinctly remember him setting up a complicated digital TV/home theater (did Jamie set it up for him?), so unless that TV broke (which he would, of course, immediately replace with a NEW digital TV), it's all just for show (so to speak).
Didn't Amanda say that the window was open, so she just climbed in to be with the baby? Setting aside for a moment the utter stupidity of that action, why was the window open in the middle of the night? "Close the windows and lock the doors." That's Home Security 101 and most CHILDREN know that rule, so why doesn't the Lieutenant-who-can-kill-(and-HAS-killed)-a-man-with-her-bare-hands know that? Apparently she thinks that closing the blinds is all the security that is necessary, despite the fact that a baby-obsessed asshole is obsessed with finding THAT BABY. I'll give her this, though -- the blinds ARE still closed, even though it's a few hours later, which is more than I expected. If she and Tad decide to have sex, though, the blinds WILL be open -- it's apparently written into the condo Homeowners Association bylaws that the blinds MUST be open if people are going to be having sex.
After everything that's gone down, is Zach going to go shoot someone ELSE so that BOTH he and Kendall end up in prison? And how, exactly, does that work out best for the boys who will be stuck being raised by a a woman who insists that they call her Mama's Mama? I'm sure the inappropriate clothing, stiletto heels, hallucinations and copious perfume will be a comfort to them, though.
Are Taylor and Tad going to let the baby sleep on top of Amanda on the couch all night? That's not exactly a safe situation, either.
Unless he has a degree in child psychology, I don't see how it would be legal for the D.A. to force an interview with a traumatized child. It's not like the information has to be elicited from her RIGHT THAT SECOND, and it should be done by someone who specializes in interviewing children.
Why didn't the alarm go off when Annie went out to the patio to investigate the broken flower-pot?
What is Zach hoping to accomplish by shooting through the patio window/door?

Why isn't there a curtain on the door to the balcony from Emma's bedroom? Who knows what kind of pervert might be looking in with binoculars?
Why would the D.A. show up for a simple ankle bracelet issue? Doesn't he have better things to do with his time?
Liza said that after Colby left, one day she looked in the mirror and didn't like the woman looking back at her. I can understand that. I don't like her, either.
Considering that Kendall hasn't actually gone THROUGH with the plea deal yet, it's a major breach of confidentiality for eBabe to go straight to Scott and JAR to tell them that it's in the works. Not that ethics ever stopped anyone in PV.
CHOKE FACTOR: Erica tells Ryan: "With you in her life, how could Emma be ANYTHING but all right?" OH PUH-LEEZE!!!! How many times has Emma been kidnapped already? How many times has Annie managed to break/sneak in and see Emma, no matter how high the security on her? How many times has he shoved her out the door to find her own way to the bus stop? Ryan is a wealthy man. Why doesn't he have a full-time, LIVE-IN nanny who will at least care enough to pick Emma up from school so that Emma doesn't have to sit ALL ALONE AND UNSUPERVISED on a bench waiting for a bus to take her home? Hell, he could pay a DOG-WALKER to at least escort her to and from the bus-stops. Given her genetics AND her environment, how can Emma grow up to be anything BUT extremely disturbed?
The D.A. is willing to cut Annie (a MULTIPLE murderer, kidnapper and all-around psychopath) a deal so that he can take the word of a 7-8-yr-old child about a murder that happened on a dark and stormy night when there were LOTS of people roaming about?

I still don't buy Adam's relatively good frame of mind after losing Stuart. He hardly seems to be grieving at ALL. Obviously he's setting up Annie to try to get info and possibly nail her (in the criminal sense) for Stuarts death, but the closeness between Adam and Stuart was SO strong that it just seems extremely out-of-character for Adam to not be absolutely grief-stricken for an extended period of time and acting out in a big way. Conning Annie might be considered "acting out", but it just seems way too calm and calculated for someone who is overwhelmed with grief to be doing that at this point.
Well, at least Frankie managed to sit in a chair for a while and even stand up. It still doesn't explain why he's even still there at PVH, but at least it's progress. I mean, REALLY, if he needs his bandages changed by a professional each day, there are home nurses for that.
Ryan frets over how he was unable to protect Greenlee, so how can he protect Kendall? He wonders if he's going to fail his daughter, too. IF?
Who's shaving Frankie? He has some facial hair going on, but it's kind of landscaped.
Kendall is imagining herself on the stand. Only on TV do murderers or accused murderers routinely take the stand. Oh, it happens in real life, too, but RARELY, and only if there is no other POSSIBLE way. It opens the door for just about EVERYTHING you've done in your entire life, and some of it may not be pretty or can be twisted and/or taken out of context. It's better to sit there with your mouth shut, rather than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. The prosecution has to prove the defendant did it. The defense has to throw buckets of shit at the wall and hope some of it sticks. The defendant has to sit quietly and try not to show any emotions. That's the way it works. Trust me, if OJ had taken the stand in the murder trial, he would have been convicted (well, maybe not with THAT braindead jury). If Phil Spector had taken the witness stand in the first trial, he would have been convicted and there would have been no need for a second trial. (Of course, if PS had gotten to a certain someone on the jury, no amount of argument or evidence would have convinced that juror. Gee, that's kind of how the first trial played out, isn't it?) We all would have LIKED to see both of those miscreants testify, but their lawyers knew better than to put them on the stand.
Wow, an actual ALARM went off at Adam's place when Erica came in through the patio doors! I'm SHOCKED!!! Has ANYONE in Pine Valley ever installed a burglar alarm in their homes, despite being kidnapped, assaulted, stalked, etc.? It took them about 25 years just to get some peepholes in SOME of the doors. If they did install one, did they ever use it more than for a single-shot storyline?
Hey, no RIDICULOUS Amanda/Jake/Liza baby storyline today! Cool!
Only in Pine Valley do women (Annie in this case) wear 4"-5" spike heels as bedroom slippers.

Does Liza have a legal speciality? For instance, is she good at contract law, tax law, corporate law, criminal law, entertainment law, family law, etc.? Maybe she just specialized in PINE VALLEY law.
Did anyone else cringe when Spike, in an impromptu performance, stood up on the couch and reached over the table behind it to grab some blocks? I'm thinking of all the full decanters just sitting there waiting for a toddler to imbibe. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!
David insists it won't make any difference if Amanda and Jake get married -- he'll STILL get his child. If it doesn't make any difference, then WHY did he go there to stop the marriage in the first place? More to the point (AGAIN), why hasn't anyone called the police about this person who keeps stalking them, walking into their house, verbally attacking everyone and refusing to leave? They are in serious need of a restraining order. Punching him and tying him up is getting pretty old, and there ARE children in the house. The children should not be exposed to stalking, punching OR tying people up. And where ARE the children? Tad, Krystal and Opal are all there, so where is Jenny? Where is Kathy? Kathy would LOVE to be a flower girl or at least BE there for something like that, especially if she got to dress up. I call B-O-G-U-S!
And why on EARTH would Amanda and Jake want to have their ceremony continue with the bound and gagged David sitting right there? That's not funny and it's CERTAINLY not romantic! Talk about a blight on their wedding!
Watching David sitting there, it occurred to me that if he really wanted to make a splash at the wedding and get back at them, he should pee in the chair they've got him tied to. The least he could do is to muster up a couple of eye-watering farts in the bridal couple's direction.
Erica sweetly commiserates with Annie about being stabbed and how hard it is and how much it hurts. And the blood -- there's SO much blood! Well, maybe for other people, but Erica hardly bled at all when Annie stabbed her.
Where is Annie getting access to false eyelashes while in jail and in the hospital? You'd think they would have sweated and/or rubbed off during her high fever.

Given David's nature and given the MANY times he's just let himself into the Martin residence, you'd think Jake and Amanda would be a little more circumspect about talking in the house about the baby and their plans. He probably has bugs planted all OVER the house (or he WILL, soon enough).
As usual, the Keystone Kops put people of interest together to get their stories straight and/or tip their hands to each other (Erica and Ryan in this case).
JAR told Colby to stop ragging on Liza (she had just told Liza she wasn't part of the family and was NOT wanted there at the funeral). JAR was surprisingly (for HIM) mature and astute when he pointed out that she needed to think about what Uncle Stuart would have wanted. Marian needs all the support she can get, and that includes her daughter, Liza.
That organ music playing at the funeral while Scott was talking to eBabe at the entrance was AWFUL! It was like they couldn't decide on whether or not to play a dirge, vampire music, or carnival/colliope music.
Look! Cat-Ruth made an appearance at the funeral!
Kendall tells Ryan that it's okay -- LIZA is the one that screwed everything up, not him. Kendall should really consider that by abandoning her seconds-dead infant and going to the mansion to point a gun at Adam/Stuart's head, she might have been just a teensy bit responsible for being in her current predicament. Delusional/self-justifying much?
All right, WHO was eavesdropping on my email to Ashley Mendoza at the Pine Valley Podcast? On May 10 at 7:05 pm I had emailed her the following in response to her asking people for suggestions on a name for an award for actors who take the crappiest writing imaginable and just slog on through like troupers, playing it for all it was worth, as opposed to, say, Rebecca Buddig, who clearly was just phoning in her performances in the last go-around.

Hi Ashley!
I've only read a few comments on last week's podcast, but I was reminded about the award and the need for a name. I would like to suggest something along the lines of the Rubbertree Award. Why? Well, I was reading a comment about it and an old song, HIGH HOPES, popped into my head.
Just what makes that little old ant,
Think he can move a rubbertree plant?
Everyone knows that an ant ... can't ... move a RUBBERTREE PLANT!
But he's got, HIIIIGH HOPES!
He's got HIIIIGH HOPES!
He's got high in the SKY, apple PIIIE hope!
President Kennedy used a variation on that theme during his election campaign (with Sinatra singing it). Shirley on the 1970s LaVerne and Shirley TV show also called upon it during tough times to buck up LaVerne's spirits or to get her to do something that seems hopeless.
It seems to fit with the poor actors trying to give a decent performance in the face of monumentally crappy writing.
Looking forward to the next installment!

O-M-G! The fact that AMC just used that as a part of Stuart's funeral is just plain FREAKY!
Annie is in the cell next to Kendall and offers to help her through her first day in jail. I guess Annie doesn't know that Kendall is an old pro at being arrested and has, in fact, done two years in state prison (where she met Janet From Another Planet).
I've been pretty pre-occupied lately, and I don't think I was really paying attention during the hearing for David's "misconduct" over Adam's prescriptions. Nurse Gayle took the fall for him, and he arranged for her to get a job elsewhere. WTF? Why wasn't she immediately ARRESTED for it?
There will be no Friday Boogie Chillen; it wasn't BAD, I just wasn't inspired to comment on any of it.

On a sad note, Susan Willis, who played Helga Voynitzeva back in the early 1990s, has died. Helga was a HOOT! The character and the portrayal of her was VERY reminiscent of Cloris Leachman playing Frau Blucher in Young Frankenstein. RIP, Ms. Willis.
I never noticed it before, but in the nighttime shot of the exterior of PVH there is a silhouette of a man peeping out from behind the left pillar. He's holding something rectangular like a magazine or a clipboard, and then he steps to the left and flamboyantly throws his arms out and JUMPS off of something (presumably a ledge). You can see it in the opening shot of Friday's show and on Youtube.

Once more, the doctor's give vague orders. Angie frantically says "More eppy, more eppy" as she, Jake and a nurse work over little Ian. And WTF was up with the nurse IMMEDIATELY saying "I'm sorry" in response to Kendall's frantic pleas to help Ian? Obviously there WAS something that could be done to at least f**king TRY to help him! Talk about soapy behavior! I'm surprised we didn't hear organ music.
There was a continuity error in the PVH scenes. When Ian's monitor first goes into alarm, the nurse quickly lowers the crib rails (only to tell them that she's sorry -- what did she do, unplug him?) A few moments later when Angie and Jake race into the room, they have to lower the crib rails again.
We were wondering what happened to Emma after Ryan set her down on his way out and went in to stop the confrontation. At this point (especially after being knocked out), Ryan KNOWS that someone pulled a gun on Adam in the living room. So why is Emma STILL there or brought there AGAIN? The place is a powderkeg and Ryan KNOWS it!
Ian's heart starts beating again. Angie half gasps/half wails: "Oh my God, he's ALIVE!" She's an ER doctor. I'm sure she's glad that he's alive, but you'd think her training would have helped her keep a calmer and more professional demeanor -- she should have jumped right in to do whatever it is that doctors do the MOMENT a patient's heart starts beating again. I guess I'll cut her some slack since she's already frazzled about Frankie's injuries.
Isn't ANYONE watching the kids? You'd think Adam would at least remind all the many people trying to kill him that the kids are right upstairs.
Does Stuart still drive a canary yellow station wagon?
If Adam KNOWS everyone in town is, quite literally, out gunning for him, why didn't he alert his Security staff and arrange to have a bodyguard with him? I know that wouldn't do any good since no one in town is capable of being even REMOTELY secure, but you'd think he'd make a TOKEN effort at least. Then again, he does seem to have a death wish at this point. He seems to be waffling on that point.
So Kendall went over to Adam's without so much as a gun? What did she think she was going to do to kill him once she got there, stomp on him with her stilettos? The same with Zach. You KNOW Zach has guns stashed somewhere (like the Casino), so why did he show up and pick up a gun from the floor, just like Kendall did?
David drills it into Junior Junior that EVERYTHING he does is for him -- EVERYTHING. Nice, if Adam is killed and David did it, then Junior Junior will spend the rest of his life feeling responsible for it.
The Chandler estate is located at 300 River Road, according to Jesse. I can never think of River Road or River Junction without thinking of the old Carol Burnett skits called As The Stomach Turns. If a character was sent to River Junction, that was the END of the character and very ominous organ music would play -- NO ONE ever returned from ... RIVER JUNCTION! And no one survived a drive on ... RIVER ROAD!
Someone mentioned on R.A.T.S.A. that they think it might have been Liza who shot Adam. I was confused about the pointy black heels on the bared legs we saw. I thought maybe we were meant to think it was Erica, but I think the legs were too big to be Susan Lucci's legs, and I idly wondered if they were using stunt legs, but Liza could definitely fit in both shoes and the scenario. Colby soundly rejected her over the phone, so Liza is probably pretty pissed off at Adam.
Looks like I was right with everyone taking a bead on Adam at the exact same moment. Everyone kept picking up everyone else's dropped guns, though, so each gun is going to have multiple prints on it, assuming they can even GET prints off of them. I don't know, though. It looked to ME like Adam might have had a heart attack or a stroke. Thunder cracked at that moment, so we don't know yet. I do hope at least ONE of them managed to shoot someone other than Adam.

Marissa to Kyrstal: "I just came to give you something."
Me: "A punch in the mouth?"
It really bugs me when people who are supposed to love their child or grandchild constantly refer to it as the child, the boy, that child, etc. At least Erica has the excuse of NEVER saying or allowing anyone else to say the G word -- she's vain. But Adam is KNOWN as Grandpa, as is David. They talk about Junior Junior as if he's a THING or someone's else's kin, not their own. The least they could do is refer to him by NAME or say OUR little boy, etc.
Adam puts a loaded gun in a drawer. After Junior Junior was TAKEN AWAY when he drank the scotch that JAR left out on top of the very same cabinet, Adam still just sticks the gun there without a second thought. Nice. Foreshadow much? I did see JAR use a key on it, at least, but that's hardly the best place for it. It may be handy to shoot Adam's plethora of enemies as they all barge in en masse to kill him, but it's STILL too easy for Junior Junior to get to. Or Emma, for that matter, since she's suddenly coming over to play with him now.
There was another major foreshadowing, too, but I'm not going into detail about it just now. Actually, the entire show was pretty much foreshadowing, but at least ONE of those foreshadowings will bear fruit.
Krystal sure knows how to dress to kill, doesn't she? The neckline AND the backline on that top plunge pretty far -- far enough that the skin UNDER her bustline shows in the front. She could probably wear that top facing either way and no one would be able to tell the difference.
Guns, guns, everywhere guns. I'm wondering if a whole bunch of people are going to shoot at Adam at the exact same time. Then they can all wipe their guns of handprints, throw them into a pile onto the floor and make a run for it. A bullet can be matched to a specific gun, but if none of the guns are registered to any of the people shooting, there are no prints, and everyone shoots at the same time, there would be no way to know which gun was in the hand of which person.
Is Ian really dead, or will they be able to revive him? Kendall nodded at Zach to indicate she would carry through on their pact; did she then LEAVE little Ian to go kill Adam??? It wasn't clear if she was doing that or going back into Ian's room. Was it just to get the car keys? If your baby dies, you don't go running out that very second to wreak revenge. You STAY there with your baby. You hold him close to say goodbye. You stroke his little face, and pat his little bottom, and hold his little hand, and pour your love and grief out to him! He'll be taken away after a while and this is going to be your LAST CHANCE to cuddle him and be with him before they do that. He's still WARM for God's sake!!! There's time enough for revenge LATER. Zach DID run out to kill Adam (only to be stopped by Jesse).
I don't understand this at ALL!!! I absolutely understand wanting to get revenge, but running out to kill someone the very SECOND your baby's heart stops just BOGGLES MY MIND!!! It happened so fast that, for all they know, it was a wonky heart monitor! It makes the hatred and revenge toward Adam seem to be MUCH more important to them than their OWN BABY. I could almost accept Kendall doing that -- she never did seem to bond with Ian, and being comforted by Ryan might be more important to her. Zach OTOH bonded very strongly with Ian from the moment Ian was born. Even as angry and vengeful as he is, the REAL Zach would have stayed with the baby not only when he died, but probably until Zach or Ian was dragged away by force, not unlike how Rhett Butler reacted when Bonnie Blue Butler died in Gone With The Wind. Then again, Rhett DID take time out at first to shoot the pony.
Question: What kind of heartless, clueless writers kill off a BABY and dismiss it within 30 seconds?
Answer: The Chuck Pratt kind.

BC - Thu, 4/23/09, Part 1
I know the BCs have been long lately. I need an outlet and a distraction, though, and AMC makes it SOOOO easy. This one is so long that I'm breaking it into two parts just to make it easier to read.
JAR insists the doctor finish his valve-replacement trials by the end of the week. WTF? The doctor says he won't compromise the lives of his patients. JAR says money is the bottom line and that the Chandlers now OWN the doctor AND his valve, so he'd better do as they say. You KNOW that's going to come back and bite the Chandlers in the butt. And based on the rumors, I can pretty much guess the gist of what's going to happen. Just in time for May sweeps.
When JAR was insisting that the heart valve (which I was under the impression was still in the design phase) had to be finished testing and ready to sell by the end of the week, did anyone else think of the new TV show Better Off Ted? It's pretty funny! It takes place in a business conglomerate (Veridian) that doesn't exactly value the lives of its employees or its customers (to an absurd degree). Pushing an artificial heart valve into production a week after the idea is conceived would be SOP. In fact, that would be considered to be behind schedule. And it would probably be made out of some mystery goo that could as versatile as Brown 25. THERE'S an old reference for you -- it doesn't have anything to do with AMC, though. So, who wants to step up first with the slogan that ended every commercial for Brown 25? Off the top of your head -- no fair Googling it!
I guess it doesn't occur to JAR (or Adam) that the money they make with the heart valve will disappear in the face of all the lawsuits that will be filed if it isn't ready or tested well enough. You'd think at least Adam would keep that in mind, given the Fusion fiasco. Of course, Adam isn't thinking very clearly these days.
Well, now we know where Natalia went. She moved in with Randi at Frankie's request. I wonder if Randi had any say about it.
Krystal asks Angie to go with her to Wildwind to get her stuff. Tad butts in and says he'll do it, because Krystal should stay away from Hayward. Oh yeah, THAT will go over well. Let's see, who is the ONE PERSON that David hates most in the WORLD? Tad? PERFECT -- as long as he volunteered, let's send HIM over!
If Ryan is so worried about Emma being kidnapped, why isn't he WITH EMMA? I know, I know, some police personnel are supposed to be guarding her, but you'd think RYAN would want to hover near her during this time of crisis instead of hanging around the police station badgering everyone about finding Annie, whisper-shouting and glaring at Aidan. How much you want to bet the key to the penthouse is STILL under the flowerpot? The next time she goes to school he'll probably shove the poor little rich girl out into the hallway alone again. Her next play-date with Kathy is probably going to consist of Emma sitting at a desk and taking notes as Kathy, with Power Point presentation and a laser pointer, takes her through the finer points of being a Bad Seed, passing along inside secrets. I wonder how long it will be before Emma starts smoking and shoplifting.
Don't they have interrogation rooms at the PVPD? They "modernized" it some time back. You'd think they would at least have some enclosed cubicles rather than Jesse's office. Or IS it Jesse's office? It sure as hell isn't a standard interrogation room. There's WAAAAAY too many things in Jesse's office that a) can be used as weapons by criminals, b) have to do with paperwork, filing, computing, etc., that can be destroyed or divulged to criminals, and c) the office is NOT private. They have blinds (which can also be used as weapons), and a door -- that's it. Ryan is standing right outside the office where Aidan is talking to HIS LAWYER. Ryan can see everything Jackson is saying. Maybe someone should remind the PVPD that Ryan's former father-in-law is deaf and Ryan may have developed an interest in lip-reading while married to Annie. Hell he might have done that just from his con-man days.
Here's a novel idea: Lock AIDAN up for insanity. I'm serious. I'm listening to him justify Annie to Jack. Jack reminds him of all of Annie's crimes. Aidan is aghast that she would have to go on trial because she's INNOCENT. WTF? No. She is NOT innocent. I'm beginning to think Aidan is having some kind of breakdown in reaction to losing Greenlee, first to Ryan and then to death, although I think he might know that the body that was found was NOT Greenlee. After all, someone DID switch the DNA report and, unlike Ryan and Kendall, he DID look under the tarp at the morgue. He was helping Annie before that, though. He helped her kidnap Emma quite a while ago, although he WAS pissed at Ryan. Maybe his need to get back at Ryan is behind all of this.
JAR asks Scott what life is like for him at night in bed and suggests he GET a life. Uh, a guy that looks like THAT is not going to have any trouble finding someone to go to bed with him. There's also no shortage of women who would appreciate his ideals and would probably fall in love with him fairly easily. Money may or may not come later. JAR can attract women with cash and power, but once they find out what an ASSHOLE he is (not to mention the alcoholic part), they're not going to stick around unless the only thing they are interested in is money. Money certainly has it's place, but it can't buy a decent personality. JAR has "junior syndrome". He is never, EVER going to feel like he measures up to his father's expectations, and he's going to punish everyone around him for it for the rest of his life. Of course, we haven't seen all that much of Scott since he returned to town, but he seems like a good guy on the surface, even with some flaws. They don't appear (yet) to be massive, GAPING flaws like JAR has. He may be a player when it comes to the ladies, though.

Are Jake's vest and striped shirt a new fashion? The only reason I ask is that is suddenly occurred to me that he kind of looks like a gondolier or possibly an organ grinder. All he needs is a droopy mustache.
Amanda really needs to learn to look through the peephole before opening the door (it DOES have one). Lots of doors in PV have peepholes, but 99 out of 100 times no one uses them.
Why is David saying Amanda has no money? Didn't he pay her $5 million (i.e, all the money she had lost) to get JAR drunk and provide proof? Even if it wasn't $5 million, it was still a considerable amount that was supposed to make her well-off again. I did NOT think she was crashing at the Martin's due to lack of money, but for protection against David (and her yacht was stolen). She may not be as rich as David, but she's not penniless.
Jesse tells Angie that they should invite Randi to dinner and tell Natalia, too, to give her a little break from the academy. Did Natalia move out? When did that happen?
Amanda was NOT in immediate danger from David. All he was doing was being an asshole and taunting her about how he's going to get her baby. So why did Jake pull a GUN? There are CHILDREN in the house! What if DAVID had had a gun, too? Would there have been a shootout! Tad made a point (afterward) of saying that the gun was locked back up in the shed. Did he say that to make a point of them being good about keeping the gun away from the children, or is it a foreshadowing of one of the kids managing to get to it, anyway?
Why is Tad so often wearing a suit? Tad is much more likable when he is dressed more casually. A suit makes him look and sound like an old fuddy-duddy and there's no REASON for him to be wearing one so often.
Zach and the "mystery woman" start to have sex on a gaming table in the casino. I DO hope that room was reserved just for her. "No names, just sex", huh? Too late! Closed-captioning told her me name the first time she opened her mouth.
