JaNut (after being told she is morbid for the "corpse pose" being her favorite yoga position): "What is so morbid about corpses?" Annie: "See, this is why I SO don't belong in here!" JaNut: "You killed your BROTHER!" Annie: "At least I didn't kill my HUSBAND!" Marian: "At least I didn't kill ANYBODY ... recently."

I am LOVING having all of them back AND interacting. And while they are sniping at each other, Erica is lying on the floor like a ... corpse.

Tad told JAR that if he had stuck around Krystal's when Tad was talking about him, he would have heard Tad say that JAR grew up to be every bit the man Dixie thought he would be. Apparently Dixie thought he would grow up to be a flaming asshole. In which case, JAR DOES know that he grew up to the every bit the man his mother thought he would be.

Opal told Tad that he managed to spring Dixie out of Oakhaven way back when. BZZZZT!  Adam had Dixie dragged off to a private sanitarium, Laurel Hill. It was straightened out for me once and for all back in 2008 when I saw a video on Youtube. I mentioned it in the Boogie Chillen for 5/7/08 when I said:

"For years and years I thought that Dixie had been locked away at Oakhaven, but she wasn't.  She was locked away at Laurel Hill.  We FINALLY got that straightened out here relatively recently, I think due to a video from that time that was on Youtube.  Now DIXIE says Adam locked her away at Oakhaven.  Sigh.  Here we go again ...  I wish they'd pick an asylum and stick with it!  I do know that Erica and Gloria Marsh have been at Oakhaven, as has JaNut (I think).  I think the first we heard of Oakhaven was when Erica went there after losing Phil's baby (I think Susan Lucci was HAVING a baby in real life and taking maternity leave)."

Do you think Erica remembers which room she was in at Oakhaven back in the 1970s?

Why is the nurse taking everyone's word for ... well, EVERYTHING? Tad explains that his mother is not crazy, so she says okay, we need the room, anyway. Then she walks away, telling him to wait, just letting him roam the inner halls of a mental facility all on his own. The nurse tells the others that yoga time is over and just walks ahead of the inmates without a backward glance at them, despite the fact that they ALL have violent histories. Then Annie says Erica attacked her and the nurse takes her word for it (and JaNut's word that Erica DID touch Annie) to put Erica into isolation. I'm beginning to think the NURSE is one of the inmates.

Then Erica is able to simply burst into Dixie's room without having to do anything more strenuous than turn the doorknob. It's nice to see that Security is still paramount at Oakhaven.

[NOTE, my previously BC headed as Wednesday, 6/15/11, was actually for Tuesday, 6/14/11]

LOD:
Opal: "I mean, I used to have trouble understanding the mechanics behind Dippity-Do!"   As I was a child in the 1960s, it brought back memories (although even as a child I pretty much understood the mechanics of it - it was like jello for hair).

Okay, Tad and the blue hair? That's just plain stupid on SO many levels. I can see if they went blond, shoe-polish black, carrot orange, or even if it all burnt off in patches - all of that would have had a comic factor. Halloween blue, OTOH, falls completely flat for me. There is no WAY Tad would have left the house with blue hair. Either a) he would have shaved it off first, b) he would have Opal apply another color or otherwise try to alter it from Halloween blue, or c) he would have had her get him a wig/toupee. Going to the Yacht Club with blue hair to meet Cara is just plain stupid and NOT funny.

Jesus, does Amanda go to PVH EVERY SINGLE DAY to make out with her husband? Grow UP, Amanda!

BC - Thu-Fri, 1/20-21/11

JAR told eBabe that he had the security "beefed up again" so that she and AJ would be safe. At what point did he debeef it, and WHY?

eBabe tells David that she's going to go file that paperwork with the court. What paperwork? That she's his lawyer now? That he's awake and can now be sent back to prison? That Liza no longer needs to be his advocate? That he's an asshole.

That's an interesting choice of sweater for Madison to wear, considering she's trying to hide her pregnancy. Let's see, I think I'll put on a top that's two sizes too small and designed to hug the belly.

Here's an idea. How about Ryan and Greenlee take their "a surprise a day" vows to the extreme and Ryan surprises Greenlee with a trip to the moon or space station or whatever. Evil Dr. David stows aboard to sabotage the flight and the sabotage and extra weight (because he doesn't get off the ship in time) causes the ship to go off course. IOW, they become LOST IN SPACE! Stay tuned to the episode where Greenlee, who notoriously can't cook, tries to make a carrot cake on a planet inhabited by walking and talking fruits and vegetables. Hilarity ensues! Dr. David continues to wreak havoc, and never learns his lesson as he is alternately aided and thwarted by a talking robot dog with whom he trades snide, yet witty insults. They can have their own spinoff (so to speak) wherein Ryan, Greenlee, Dr. David and the robot dog travel to new worlds and new civilizations, and their self-centered and self-entitled views leave carnage and heartbreak in their wake from one world to another as they continue to escape unscathed. Greenlee leaves tiny stiletto hoof--er--footprints on the soils of planets into infinity. Females of every race and planet inexplicably throw themselves at Ryan and demand that he remove his shirt. As long as none of this happens on All My Children, I'm all for it.

BC - Wed, 11/18/09

Today's HIPAA violations: too numerous to count. Not only does David NOT immediately close Greenlee's file on the computer in response to Ryan snooping, but when he finally DOES close it, it's only to show Ryan the names of all the OTHER women who have had problem pregnancies, which David actually explains, since all we see are women's names. Not that I would ever expect David to follow ANY rules, let alone HIPAA ones, or that I would expect Ryan to follow any rules.

Adam sure does like to toss toxic items into his fireplace, doesn't he?

Wow, that's a REALLY narrow balcony/terrace outside the penthouse. It's hard to believe Ryan and Annie (among others) had sex out there (especially in the SNOW).

Assuming that Greenlee is the mystery patient (and it's a pretty good assumption), her arms are AMAZINGLY toned for someone who's been bedbound for, what, about a YEAR?

And even MORE HIPAA violations -- Jake talks to the fertility doctor about Amanda's insemination (or lack thereof).

Upon discussing the way people in PV recuperate from stupendous falling incidents, but lose babies after falling only a couple of steps, Aisling (in RATSA) mentioned that they always land in a pretty pose, unlike people suffering from real life falls. It occurred to me that there MIGHT be a way to increase AMC's viewership. Every time one of the main or secondary characters is brought into the hospital, there should be an extra in the background with something absurd going on. For instance, there can be a man sitting in a chair, waiting his turn, with a leaky hose sticking out of his ear, or perhaps someone has a ferocious and tenacious ferret biting their nose, or their foot is stuck in cement or and hand is stuck up a chicken butt in a freak stuffing incident or something like that. It would ALWAYS be in the background, and never mentioned other than, perhaps moaning, screaming or frantic or futile gesturing that everyone else ignores in favor of the main character, unless it's another extra character trying to remedy the situation by trying to pull the chicken off, etc. Hilarity ensues! Then people would tune in just to see what the unacknowledged extra-medical-absurdity-of-the-day is.

BC - Mon, 11/9/09

I love that Adam's notion of Purgatory is that they are now serving 003 and his ticket shows he's number 420

Those wimpy wings are way too small for Angel Annie. She'd never get off the ground with them!

I'm under the impression that a marriage isn't really valid unless the marriage certificate is signed by both parties and witnessed and that the ceremony is really just a formality. Is that true? Even if saying vows is part of the legality of it, if Adam literally DIED during the ceremony, wouldn't he be considered not of sound mind at the time? Then again, he was clearly not of sound mind when he married Krystal, considering that both of them were shit-faced on moonshine at the time. He was just as eager to be married when he gained consciousness, though, so I guess it's a moot point.

Oh, as as to the question of the color of eBabe's dress, it looked purple on my TV. It's a DULL purple, but a purple, nonetheless.

Aidan schmoozes the police officer, pretending that he and Kendall are having an affair. The officer tells him to relax, that they are real good about keeping secrets around there. Aidan says: "What do you call this place, anyway?" Officer: "Peyton." BWAHAHAHAAAA! I feel really old for having to do this, but for you young'uns, this first line from the Wikipedia page pretty much sums it up: "Peyton Place is a 1956 novel by Grace Metalious. "Peyton Place" has become an expression to describe a place whose inhabitants have sordid secrets." I remember reading it as a young teenager. It also became movie in 1957 and a TV series in 1964 (making Ryan O'Neal and Mia Farrow into stars). It was a ground-breaking book and considered QUITE scandalous at the time.

It never ceases to amaze me that patients at PVH are routinely treated by doctors who hate their guts and have tried to kill them MORE THAN ONCE! WTF is WRONG with these people?

Okay, for you Misty Croslin types out there, that thing about spouses not having to testify against one another is a MYTH. Oh there's SOME truth to it, but it's not a blanket immunity kind of thing. They don't having to testify as far as things that have been said DURING THE MARRIAGE. We went through this when Kendall and Zach remarried for the same purpose. That only happens on TV and in movies. Anything that transpired BEFORE the marriage is fair game, so getting married to avoid testifying is a stupid and useless thing to do. At least that's MY take on it.

Well, now that Adam nearly died and he probably has to take it easy for a while, it practically makes it MANDATORY that Annie and Scott have sex, not only to make a baby ASAP, but because Annie will be feeling horny and Adam won't be able to satisfy her.

BC - Tue, 8/18/09

OT/TAN: I'm only just now watching Tuesday's show. Moving is exhausting and time-consuming! The big move happens on 8/29, so things should settle down after that. I'll even have access to SoapNet!

Okay, I have to say it -- that hairstyle is MUCH too young-looking for Angie. It's hard to take her seriously when she looks like that. She looks like she's on her way to the airport to welcome the Beatles to the States.

So Randi took the baby. That's such a trite storyline. Woman loses baby, woman steals baby. At least she doesn't seem to be so deluded that she thinks the baby is hers, although she does seem to think that finders-keepers applies. The poor baby must be stinky, diaper-rash-plagued and starving by NOW.

It's the second half of August -- why is there a fire in the Slater fireplace? And why are there lit candles all over the place? It's not even nighttime. The romance of fire kind of loses its sizzle in the daytime, especially in the dog days of summer. The romance will fizzle out even quicker if Spike wakes up and wanders into the living room to take a closer look at the pretty flaming candles.

Uh, don't vaccinations have to be done at least 48 hours before any exposure to a virus? Erica won't have any time to build up immunity if she's leaving for Africa in a few hours.

Natalia's reaction to finding out that Randi "found" the baby is pretty underwhelming. She's acting like Randi found a pair of shoes, was wearing them and Natalia's saying: "Girl, you canNOT wear THOSE shoes with THOSE pants." Except she says it with less concern than she would if there really WERE clashing shoes involved.

Whoever filmed and/or edited the NYC scenes should be FIRED. They couldn't keep anything in focus for more than a half a second and everything was sped up and wildly swinging from one shot to the next. Yeah, I know it's supposed to be artsy and light-hearted, but it's making me dizzy. And they keep shifting from day to night to day and back to night again. A good ending to the scene would have been for the guy pedaling the cart that was hauling them around to have let loose a REALLY loud and pungent fart. Honestly, those shots were worthy of an Ed Wood movie.

If Randi believes that she lost her baby because she did bad things in the past, what does she think will happen to THIS baby now that she's picked it up?

Oh great -- here comes another romance novel from Kendall.

My sister, Sharlene, said:
"OMG ... Ryan just kissed Erica ... that would be like me making out with my son-in-law ... EEWWWWWW!!! Aside from the yuck factor, Ryan and Erica scenes around New York doing fun stuff is a bit sad, considering they are moving the show to California. Once again I have to say that Kendall is too dumb to live ... Damn, she's such an impulsive IDIOT!!!!! Time for another coma ... PLEASE!" I agree with my sister on all counts!

Erica said she's wondering if she'll be different somehow when she gets back. Was that supposed to be a veiled allusion to the big move to California? Is Susan Lucci staying in NY? Will Erica be different when she returns from Africa because someone ELSE will be playing Erica?

Here's a possible scenario. Perhaps what will happen is that she'll be riding an elephant for a publicity shot, but the elephant goes rogue and thunders off before anyone can stop it, with Erica clinging to whatever one clings while on top of a rogue African elephant. Months later she will finally be rescued from a group of chimpanzees that allowed her to stay amongst them for the duration. The female champanzees will be wearing grass skirts and halter-tops made from vines and leaves. They'll have blossoms in their head hair and will have learned to eat with their pinkies stuck up in the air. A few of them will have learned to make stiletto heels with twigs, leaves and vines and can be seen gamely trying to figure out how to walk on them using their feet AND hands. When the males come sniffing around, the females all start to act coy and begin doing simian simper-dips. The males just roll around in the dirt, bonk themselves on the head, leer at the females and yank them around, and puff out their chests, pounding on them and each other, which is kind of what the males in PV do on a daily basis, anyway.

Erica, in the meantime, will have learned to climb trees without breaking her nails and become an excellent groomer. She never WAS one to eat much, so she willingly gave away the nits, fleas, lice and assorted vermin that she finds in their fur, which was an excellent way to form bonds of friendship and curry (so to speak) favor with desired allies -- this also helped to keep her from being beaten to a bloody pulp. She was already well-versed in the art of throwing hissy fits and flinging things around when she was mad. Her close association with Ryan and his chimpanzee mannerisms had laid the groundwork for her to look speculatively at the alpha male of the troupe. In the meantime, she tried to sabotage the alpha female in whatever ways she could, mostly by trying to get the other females to turn against the alpha female by telling lies about her as she groomed the others and gave them little tiny braids. Getting rid of bodily wastes was not an issue for Erica, and it never was -- in all her life she's only used bathrooms for taking baths, catfights and getting stabbed, after all. Oh, she still had catfights and got stabbed, but bathing didn't happen as often. She will also be sporting some bitemarks, a torn ear and some bald patches, which would lead the way for plastic surgery so that when they put another actress in the role, we'll be EXPECTING her to look different. Dr. Fashionella, alas, is not available to restore her face to exactly the way it was before her sojourn with the chimps, having met a similar fate in the rain forests of Brazil.

I'd say Erica would just be dragged off by lions, but lions like a little MEAT on bones, and I'm pretty sure lions would HATE eating silicone even if they DID bother with her as a snack. I can just hear them now: "PTUI! Ugh! I KNEW I shouldn't have tried this appetizer! I can't BELIEVE the things they put into the food supply these days! I'm telling you, Ralph, do NOT eat that part! Convenience foods can taste so plastic-y sometimes!"

Madison tells Zach to come and: "I HAVE something that I think you'll find very INteresting." Was I the only one who thought that the way she said it was a TOTALLY soapy moment? I could easily see that line being said just that way when the two soap characters appear on Craig Ferguson's show.

Are we supposed to believe that Erica and Ryan are too stupid to get out of the sprinklers fast enough AFTER picking up their phones? I mean, REALLY, how wet could they have gotten? Did they REALLY get so soaked that they both needed to completely remove their clothes? They were SPRINKLERS, not opened fire hydrants! Sheesh! And why did they go all the way back to Ryan's place to dry out when Erica has a room right THERE at the Yacht Club? (that's a rhetorical question, as most of my questions ARE)

And speaking of deliberately leaving the phones on the lawn, who DOES that? It's one thing to set them down while you're still THERE, but they went out on a sailboat. ANYONE could have stolen their phones. Considering that they are both Titans Of Industry, you'd think there would be some valuable information on those phones. The phones, themselves were probably expensive, but that wouldn't mean anything to the two TOI. Things like Warren Buffet's private phone number, and God knows what kind of photos, OTOH, could mean quite a bit.

On the subject of watering lawns, why would the Yacht club water the grass smack in the middle of a hot day in July when there are people all over the place instead of in the evening or early morning? I only mention the people being around because water conservation or utility bills would, of course, never occur to them.

Does Liza have a legal speciality? For instance, is she good at contract law, tax law, corporate law, criminal law, entertainment law, family law, etc.? Maybe she just specialized in PINE VALLEY law.

Did anyone else cringe when Spike, in an impromptu performance, stood up on the couch and reached over the table behind it to grab some blocks? I'm thinking of all the full decanters just sitting there waiting for a toddler to imbibe. STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!

David insists it won't make any difference if Amanda and Jake get married -- he'll STILL get his child. If it doesn't make any difference, then WHY did he go there to stop the marriage in the first place? More to the point (AGAIN), why hasn't anyone called the police about this person who keeps stalking them, walking into their house, verbally attacking everyone and refusing to leave? They are in serious need of a restraining order. Punching him and tying him up is getting pretty old, and there ARE children in the house. The children should not be exposed to stalking, punching OR tying people up. And where ARE the children? Tad, Krystal and Opal are all there, so where is Jenny? Where is Kathy? Kathy would LOVE to be a flower girl or at least BE there for something like that, especially if she got to dress up. I call B-O-G-U-S!

And why on EARTH would Amanda and Jake want to have their ceremony continue with the bound and gagged David sitting right there? That's not funny and it's CERTAINLY not romantic! Talk about a blight on their wedding!

Watching David sitting there, it occurred to me that if he really wanted to make a splash at the wedding and get back at them, he should pee in the chair they've got him tied to. The least he could do is to muster up a couple of eye-watering farts in the bridal couple's direction.

Erica sweetly commiserates with Annie about being stabbed and how hard it is and how much it hurts. And the blood -- there's SO much blood! Well, maybe for other people, but Erica hardly bled at all when Annie stabbed her.

Where is Annie getting access to false eyelashes while in jail and in the hospital? You'd think they would have sweated and/or rubbed off during her high fever.

Although it's been a little corny so far, I have to say that it's nice to see MEK get a chance to be his quick-witted, silly and endearing self again! I wonder if he's going to remember or admit killing Dr. Madden now that he doesn't have as many social inhibitions.

I like Natalia's new hairdo.

Although he's doing a good job pretending to be dead, David Canary's left eye DID twitch a little when Scott was talking to him about a poem.

Ryan is RICH. Why doesn't HE have people out looking for Annie?

The way Krystal's hair is today, she looks a LOT like Marissa/eBabe.

Krystal may still be wearing the same outfit she was wearing last night, but she sure did get her hair and makeup nicely done. I wonder if she stopped and got her nails done, too.

I'm glad Liza explained that she DID contact Marian.

I liked that Scott went in to talk to Stuart and stroke his face and hair and hug him and cry. See, Kendall and Zach, THAT is how REAL people react when someone they love dies. It may have been fairly short, but at least he STAYED.

Adam was looking pretty pathetic in his confusion and grief, and in a VERY human (aka NON-Adam-like) way.

BC - Wed, 5/20/09

I told you Tad would hurt if he laughed. I hope we aren't in for months and months of knock-knock jokes.

Here's another theory on what might have happened. Earlier in the evening Adam had told Stuart that Scott would inherit Chandler Enterprises when he died. Stuart didn't think that was a good idea because Scott just wasn't that type. Sooooo ... what if Stuart got dressed up in one of Adam's suits and combed his hair and then went to see Adam, who would want to know what the devil he was doing in a suit. It's just NOT Stuart's style, after all. Stuart would then have said that he wanted to show Adam that he was making a point -- Stuart is not a suit kind of guy and NEITHER IS SCOTT. Adam leaves the room for some reason, the lights go out, and Stuart is left standing in the dark. Then he gets shot

OR Stuart PLANNED to do the above (except for the last part), but Adam wasn't there, so he was standing there when the lights went out and he got shot. Adam sees what has happened (without others seeing him) and is devastated that Stuart was killed because of HIM. We hear the voices and Adam's own statement that he must die because of what he has done to all of them because that's what's going through ADAM'S mind upon seeing that Stuart has been killed. He didn't need to check for a pulse because their twin connection is so strong that he KNOWS the other half of him has died. Either that or he saw Zach take Stuart's pulse and Zach gave some indication that Stuart was dead. The trauma of what has transpired plus the taking of his altered medication, plus the underlying mental problem sends him into a blackout state.

Liza told Colby she was going to try to find Marian. So why did she then make a beeline for Tad's hospital room?

The baby Liza is "expecting" is probably Amanda's baby. She told Colby and Tad that she went to a sperm bank. That will probably fly for a while, but it's not a very plausible story considering her history. After all, COLBY was a sperm donor baby, but Adam bought the clinic and switched the specimens. People who knew Liza at the time would wonder why she would risk something like that again. Not that Adam would WANT her to have another of his babies. Colby doesn't know about the sperm-switch history or even that she was a product of artificial insemination. She'll probably find that out in the coming months, though.

Speaking of Liza and her history, where the hell did she get her law degree? This came up on R.A.T.S.A. and someone astutely pointed out that Liza has been on the run for all these years. She KIDNAPPED Colby. Adam agreed to drop the charges (for Colby's sake) if she left Colby alone, but Adam probably wouldn't have any say in the matter since the FBI was involved. It would be the FEDS that would decide whether or not to drop the charges. Liza would not have been able to pass the bar using her real name due to the outstanding charges. Does she even have a license to practice law in Pennsylvania? I'm pretty sure she was using aliases. She would have been easily found by Adam if she'd been going by her real name. A law school would probably insist on having her transcripts from PVU. So how is she able to now be a legitimate lawyer (assuming she really IS one) and move about Pine Valley freely using her own name?

Colby is very relieved that her father isn't dead, but considering that her beloved Uncle Stuart IS dead, she's not very upset.

That was pretty good grieving by Scott (right up until he joined the ranks of people who want to kill Adam now more than EVER. He dried up right quick at that point.

It's also possible that SCOTT killed Stuart, thinking it was Adam, because he really DOES want the company or to pay him back because he thinks Adam arranged to have the doctor killed. Then there's the matter of a BABY that might die because of the faulty valve. He COULD have a motive. In any case, he's devastated that Stuart was murdered instead of Adam. If Scott did, indeed, do it, then he's also feeling tremendous guilt.

BC - Tue, 5/19/09

Jesse tells JAR that what happened tonight (Tad getting shot) was a horrible, horrible **ACCIDENT**. No it wasn't. Jesse's gun did not ACCIDENTALLY fire itself THREE TIMES into Tad's body. I think only one of the bullets made a direct hit, but he FIRED three times. That's no accident.

Kendall's baby's HEART STOPPED a very short time ago. Now the police want her to come down to the hospital to question her or they'll come and GET her. Why can't they send someone to the hospital to question her THERE? That way, if something happens to the baby she'll at least be nearby. All things considered, she's amazingly calm about it, asking Erica to stay with Ian. The way they are writing her, it's like she doesn't even GIVE a damn about Ian! He's always been an afterthought to her. Right before he temporarily died, she and Zach were told that Ian would probably be dead by morning. They managed to revive him, but I didn't hear anything about his prognosis magically changing. The police can damn well wait until morning for Kendall's statement! She was there and even thinks she was the one who killed Adam, but THEY don't know that (yet)!

Later in the show, David talks about how much Ian is improving and says that they might be able to do surgery to replace the valve soon. Huh? At what point did he miraculously get BETTER as opposed to being revived after his heart stopped? According to them, he was leaking all over the place internally. How did THAT part stop? Did they squirt some of that stuff you squirt into tires to plug a leak down his airway?

Kendall should know better than to lie about leaving the hospital. There are cameras all OVER the place and she would have been caught on them.

Jesse shot someone. Shouldn't he be on Administrative Leave now?

Based on what we heard today, I think we're going to see a LOT of "inappropriate" behavior from Tad pretty much right off the bat. I don't buy the instant laughing, though. You don't laugh as you are coming out from under the influence of anesthesia, and once you DO start laughing, it's probably going to hurt enough that you stop, especially if you've just had surgery on your HEAD. And your throat would be VERY dry, so your voice/laugh would probably be kind of croaky.

As it turns out, STUART was the one who died, not Adam. I wondered about that, because the spoiler I had heard previously indicated it would be Stuart, and I thought the spoiler might have been wrong, although no one seemed to bother to even LOOK for Stuart. I have no idea why he was wearing a SUIT, but he was. The look on "Adam's" face as the camera circled around him WAS very Stuart-like, though. That was a good method to keep us guessing, because if you were surrounded by people trying to shoot you, you might go slack-jawed, too (personally, I'm pretty sure some OTHER part of me would go slack first, but that's just me ), so it could fit either scenario. But then they had his "thoughts" being heard by us, which certainly seemed to indicate it was ADAM. Maybe it was Stuart remembering what Adam had told him and we didn't see it. There's a LOT we don't see these days.

Looks like they are back to showing us previews at the end of the show.
