BC - Fri, 1/28/11

On Friday's episode, Tad gives Jesse chocolates to give to Angie. They both promptly start eating the candy, with gusto, while they still talk. Ok, who at AMC got the sudden urge to show the cast chewing, swallowing and talking all of the sudden?

I can understand why Natalia and Brot used the hotel room the first time, but why are they using it again? Don't they both have their own places?

Okay, now I have to take AWAY props from the Props department; either the telephone handset that Greenlee is holding is WAY too big or she has a very tiny head.

OMG, I was just JOKING about where Jake was going to put his fingers -- now he's telling David that he's scheduled him for a colonoscopy (right after David says he can handle "a few jabs")

So not only does Cara have no idea how to apply eyeliner, but she's rude, too. She just goes up to Tad at Krystal's, plops herself down and starts talking, completely oblivious to the fact that Tad is sitting WITH someone (someone he's investigating for possibly stealing drugs from the hospital). Then she asks him if he's worked any good cases lately.

Fusion is seriously going to have an ad campaign glamorizing a woman carrying a GUN? What next, they create an applicator shaped like a gun? They should go to Cara to find out where she gets hers from, because I suspect she uses a bazooka for that.

Greenlee on Kendall's answering machine: "I feel like everything I do is wrong." You are absolutely correct. And?

Am I the only one who dislikes Greenlee's ruffly coat? Maybe they aren't ruffles, but shirring. All I know is that it reminds me of a dress that my friend had when we were in the fifth or sixth grade. It was yellow and had horizontal, tube-like rolls down the front of it. Kids teased her and called it her "toilet paper dress".

Cara really reminds me a little of the 2nd Raquel Dion Santos (Celi Ara) from back in 1999.

Well, that was a kind of breach of ettiquette. The nurse tells Madison that Dr. Kantor, THE OB/GYN, will be with you in a few minutes. Isn't that kind of like announcing that the doctor who will be telling you to slide down to the end of the table just before sticking a lubed speculum up your vagina will be with you in a few minutes? I think a simple "Dr. Kantor will be with you in a few minutes" would have been sufficient. It's a common waiting area, and not like she's in a women's clinic. Of course, considering the massive amount of HIPAA violations the hospital routinely commits, that's pretty small on the scale. It's rude, though.

Greenlee complains to David that she's still getting blamed for all of his bad behavior. Well, yeah, it IS a little fresh in people's minds, you self-centered TWIT.

Has Greenlee been Botoxed into oblivion? She rarely changes her expression. Granted, she has not been happy (downright depressed, in fact) since she came out of her coma, but Geez Louise, make SOME kind of expression! All she ever does these days is stare while looking guarded or vaguely sad.

Randi told Madison that she will cut any woman who tried to start anything up with her man. Really. For an ex-hooker, she didn't put much into it to back up her words. She said it with all the feeling, menace and warning of someone who ... um ... I just realized that no matter what I think of to compare it to, there ISN'T really anything, because most people put more emotion into choosing paper over plastic or what flavor of pudding they prefer or if someone cuts in line in front of them at the supermarket or someone sends their husband spam advertising Russian "girls" with live webcams. For someone "from the streets", she's got all the street skills of a ... um ... again, nothing to compare her to other than inanimate objects. I had to back the DVR up to hear it again because I needed to make sure she said what I thought I heard; they were just words coming out of her mouth, and nothing more.

Annie tells Scott (who hands her a key to look at a house to buy) that if they leave the Chandler mansion now, JAR wins. No he doesn't. How does he win? By not being all up in her face 24/24? By not eavesdropping on their every word? By not being able to listen outside their door when they have sex (we haven't seen it, but I wouldn't put it past him)? By not churning up everyone's stomach acid simply by breathing the same air space? By upsetting all the children? Oh yeah, JAR wins BIG TIME! She should think about she and Scott and their marriage winning and not giving a flying f**k about JAR outside of the office. I was glad to hear Scott say pretty much the same thing.

Are they doing something with JAR's eyes or makeup or something? Colby was right -- he IS looking like Adam. Is that on purpose? Maybe it's just the way JY is portraying him now with certain facial expressions. He's just sliding on into the rich asshole mogul slot vacated by Adam. Not that he didn't have the "rich asshole" part down pat long before now. It's kind of sobering to think of the characters that we saw being children or teens now stepping into the shoes of characters that have moved on. Tad has been (badly) slipping into Joe's shoes, playing the good guy "Father Knows Best" character for a while now. We didn't see her as a child or teen, but Krystal seems to be slipping into the Ruth/Myrtle role as the woman everyone in town has a cup of tea with as they pour their hearts out to her and she dispenses wise advice based on her years of experience or she just offers sympathy and a hug.

WOW! Someone (aside from an angry resident) actually ~ANSWERED THE DOOR~ at the Chandler mansion!!! Caleb didn't just walk/barge on in through an unlocked door -- he told whoever answered the door to tell JAR that he wanted to see him! I'm STUNNED! How ironic that the gruff mountain man is the only one in town with enough manners to actually knock on a door or ring a bell. THEN he barged on into the living room (barged as in slamming the door open).

On Monday Angie fretted about her impending blindness as she cuddled a sleeping Jesse's arm after they made love. All I could think of was how close her presumably infected and contagious eyes were to his skin. Then I thought about how close her eyes had probably been to other parts of his body. I can just hear Jesse now: "OMG, I've got contagious fungal endophthalmitis dickitis with an added trace of some sort of ocular involvement!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! How the hell did I get THAT??? It's only GOT one eye, you know!" Angie: "Oops."

Is that a giant diaper pin holding Krystal's dress together? For you young'uns, a "diaper pin" is a quaint term to describe what was basically an extremely large safety pin that was used in the olden days to hold CLOTH diapers together. And yes, we DID sometimes inadvertently stick the poor little babies with the pins (along with ourselves). Ah, the good old days.

Annie's mourning "hat" with the spotted veil was HILARIOUS! Big black spots on her face kind of suit her -- it makes her look like she has malignant moles. Did she already HAVE that strappy veil holder/hat? If not, where did she get it on such short notice? Do they sell them in the lobby at the Pine Valley Mortuary?

Why do Scott, JAR and Annie keep talking about The Nanotech Project? Most projects that are still in development have a code name, sometimes with a sly reference to what the product actually is. I once worked on a project called Harem. It had to do with a Unix operating system in the 1980s. It was called Harem because "you'll always find eunichs in harems". Okay, so it was nerd humor -- maybe you actually had to be there So what should the code name for the Chandler nanotech project be? We could call it Mork since Mork was always saying "Nanoo, nanoo!" Or possibly Orson. Or, in keeping with the spirit of the project: hot stuff or booty since it's basically stolen goods or perhaps some sort of up-yours reference to Steve Jobs (actually the booty reference would also work if you've ever seen the TV movie Pirates of Silicon Valley. Any suggestions?

TAN/OT: One of my favorite, but old nerdy jokes was someone saying that he likes to name at least one computer/server elvis, because then if he used the command "ping elvis", it would come back and say "elvis is alive"

Krystal has a new restaurant now -- why is she still working for Jack?

That's an amazingly flimsy memorial to Palmer! What's it made out of, potato chips?

Why would they have a reading of a will at a yacht club outdoor restaurant? Don't the other yacht club members ever get tired of the same snobby, self-entitled people taking over the place on a pretty much daily basis?

If this is the newest version of the will that Jack hasn't even read yet, then why were Nina, Lanie, Bobby, Ross, etc., already taken care of? For all he knew, Palmer wrote them out of it in the Pigeon Hollow version. And shouldn't Adam be there? You'd think Palmer would leave something extra special in his will for Adam, like a sailboat paperweight ( a long time ago Palmer caressed and admired a sailboat figurine or paperweight as he taunted Adam while Adam was lying helpless on the floor of the boathouse after suffering a stroke).

JAR left the will reading while it was still going on, but after his own part was read. How RUDE!

How is it that neither Scott nor JAR knew of who or what owned HALF the stock in Chandler Enterprises all this time or that there even WAS this giant block of stocks? How could Palmer own HALF of it? There's never been any clue that Palmer did that, and Adam has ALWAYS had controlling interest. If Adam had only HALF interest in the company, a) someone would have had to represent the other half, and b) who were all those OTHER mysterious stockholders to whom they always had to answer? Talk about creative accounting!

If Palmer had all those shares of Chandler, why didn't he cash them in when he lost his own fortune, or, better yet, go into THAT business and continue to make Adam's life hell while making money, too?

Well, now we know Caleb's connection to PV -- he's Palmer's nephew. Why didn't the West Virginia relatives (i.e., Dixie, Will, Lanie, Di or even Del) know about him? We knew he had to have (or, in this case, WOULD have) money one way or another to even the playing field in PV. Caleb had better keep a chastity belt over his kidneys at all times lest he wake up in the morning in a bathtub full of ice and Del's fingerprints all over the place.

BC - Wed-Thu, 6/16-17/10

People in and from Pine Valley are SO RUDE! Jack and Krystal just make themselves at home in a cabin that they KNOW someone has been occupying. Now they're helping themselves to the resident's moonshine.

Damn, that is a REALLY high (cgi) fire Caleb built!

Krystal is complaining to Jack about still being single. Uh, she was married to Adam, Tad and then David, one after the other. She should be thanking her lucky STARS she's "still single"!

So now Krystal and Caleb seem to have developed an attraction. Erica assures Krystal that he's not so bad. Uh, yeah, Erica, he IS. He may have saved you over and over again, but he refused to get you any kind of medical treatment or help you back to civilization.
