Boogie Chillen, Thursday - 5-2-13

Oh yeah, I believe there are adult-size jeans that Miranda can't fit into. She's such a butterball, after all.

AJ tells Miranda that the trailer park called and they want their trash back. Has anyone ever sat him down and told him about his mama (and Grandma Krystal, for that matter)? Yeah, there's a hospital wing at PVH named after Babe -- there's also a pier in San Diego where quite a few sailors have carved her name in the wood. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the pier had collapsed from the structural damage!

I see/hear that Griff still sounds like he's about to break into tears with every syllable he utters.

So know we know that JAR is the assh--er--mystery patient (they spelled his name wrong, though (AFAIK). Babe always pronounced it JAR and I'm sticking with it. We still don't know what happened to Tad, though.

David always DID have a hate-on for JAR (and vice versa).

All that medical equipment in JAR's hospital room looks sparkling clean and fresh out of the box. Do they ship in new factory equipment every day for the rich guy?

Now we know for SURE that eBabe (aka Marissa) WAS killed 5 years ago. Well, at least we know there's a gravestone for her, and people seem sad that she's gone.

Pete assures Celia via video that he is NOT a cyber-stalker. He assures her of this via an iPad with the words: TOUCH ME on the screen. In her BEDROOM. There are also flowers for her. In her BEDROOM. Pete's waiting outside her window for her with more flowers. Nope. He's not a stalker. Only creeps who don't respect boundaries are stalkers. Pete's romantic.

The show ends with David putting his hand around JAR's throat. David had decided that JAR being in the prison of his own body was better than him dying; but then he saw JAR's fingers twitching and he's not about to let JAR wake up NOW. So. How long before someone comes into the room and punches David in the face? 5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ...

Oh please -- who has a VCR or DVR nowadays that makes backwards chipmonk noises when rewound during play? Just Jake, apparently.

Why couldn't Amanda walk in from the car on her own? It's not like she was out cold -- otherwise she wouldn't be holding herself in such a stiffly obvious pose, she'd just be limply dangling in David's arms.

The scene changes from Amanda prettily waking up to Kendall furiously pounding on the door to be let out of her cel--er--room. I didn't realize that it was a such a relief not to see Kendall yesterday, in all her shining stupidity, distracted as I was marveling at the stupidity of holding a last-minute marathon in a cramped, tacky office. It may be morning, but Kendall doesn't know if someone else might be out there, so pounding on the door and yelling is foolhardy, at best, although not nearly as stupid as invisibly leaving her child with the neighbors and showing up at a televised marathon to spy on her husband.

David tells Trevor that he (and Amanda) are going to teach Trevor how to be a good man and how to love. Well, AMANDA might do that -- I have a tough time seeing DAVID do that. Meanwhile, Amanda falls for soap trick #5: a despicable man is nice (or worse, tender) to a child/infant in view of a woman and the woman melts, canceling out every heinous thing the man has ever done not only in his life, but TO that specific woman. Amanda's such a SAP! Oh wait, she didn't fall for it. Well, THAT'S refreshing ... OFGS, it looks like she DID fall for it by the time morning rolled around.

Sooo, Aidan DID obtain Ian from the neighbors? A strange foreigner who speaks halting English shows up and says he's there to pick up the rich and famous baby and they, apparently, just hand him over. They also apparently never questioned why the invisible babysitter rushed out and left Ian alone until they could mosey on over to take care of him. Frankly, I would think a call to CPS by the neighbors is warranted.

Angie wonders where she left her purse. Excuse me? A "big" event like that and she just sets her purse down somewhere? This wasn't a BBQ at her friend's house -- it was a televised event with camerapeople, reporters, psychotic and deceitful people like Annie and Madison, deceitful-in-the-extreme, mustache-twirling people like David and Adam and just plain strangers. I hope the only thing she had in her purse was lipstick, because that may be the only thing LEFT in her purse by now.

Krystal is looking very good. She's lost some weight and possibly had some work done. Good for you, Girl -- it's workin' for ya!

Why did Natalia haul a police manual in her purse with her to the marathon? I guess she wanted a little light reading for her break times. Did Angie have a copy of Grey's Anatomy in HER bag? Too late -- it's probably already listed on eBay.

If Kendall gets a new trial (or rather A trial, since she pled guilty without one), how are they planning to swap out her and the impersonator in her jail cell? For that matter, if they CAN'T get Kendall legally freed, how long is her impersonator supposed to sit in the cell pretending to be Kendall?

Ryan tells Erica that he has always thought of the two of them as equal. Really? How about when she was going to be your mother-in-law? What about when she was going to be your stepmother? Never thought of her THAT way? What about Spike? Is he supposed to refer to Erica as Mommy Erica? Not that he knows her as a grandmother, in any case, but this situation is just stomach-turning.

Did Erica and Ryan actually HAVE sex yet. It seemed like they got together to talk about it (after being interrupted), but it's not clear if they took up where they left off or if they just continued rubbing and slobbering all over each other without consummating the act. I suspect they didn't and we'll still see a scene where they at least find a BED to do it in. Grandma might be in great shape for her age, but doing it on tables, desks, floors or rocks could result in broken bones. If they DID have sex, did they use a condom?

If they carry out this ridiculous Ryan/Erica pairing, would they have Erica get pregnant? We all know Susan Lucci is in her 60s, but Erica, having finally given up the ghost on staying 35, will probably only admit to 45 or 50, so it's a possibility. Maybe THAT's how they'll end the show once and for all after it gets canceled, which can't be far behind after AMC moves to CA and the main cast players stay in NY. Erica gets pregnant and she dies in childbirth (if Kendall, Annie or a resurrected Greenlee don't kill her first). Greenlee may show up again and take Ryan back from Erica. Emma and Spike, meanwhile decide to join forces for a family Thanksgiving dinner that NO ONE will ever forget.

What is Natalia's problem with Brot? She had to be taught how to get the upper hand on a suspect by RANDI, so why does she think it will be SOOOO hard for Brot, a war veteran, to pass a test to get into the academy? SHE passed it and she had NO experience in any form of Security work or traning, whatsoever.

Someone on the Pine Valley Podcast commented on how skinny Marissa is. I don't think she's skinny. Compared to some of the other women on the show, she looks just about perfect as far as weight goes.

Hmmm, it's pretty odd to see David PRAISING Chandler Enterprises at a press conference. What's his angle? Is he setting up Adam and JAR for a big fall? If Ian died or had to have yet another operation to replace the valve, that wouldn't look very good for David, and I don't think he would to that to a toddler. I suppose it's a win-win for David either way, though. If it succeeds, he's the first doctor to use it, and if it fails, he can use that excuse to take down the Chandlers. Maybe the SECOND person who gets it is going to ... well ... GET IT. I doubt he did it JUST for visitation rights once a month with Junior Junior. Or did he? Toward the end of the show he explained to Scott that Ian survived DESPITE it being a flawed valve, because he immediately recognized the problem and was able to fix it on the fly. For now. You never know with David, though. With Chuck Pratt writing, anything is possible.

I have a question about the valve replacement. Ian is just a baby. He's going to grow quite a bit over the coming years. Wouldn't the valve need to be replaced as he grew older? Is it too big for him now and he'll grow into it, or will it be too small for it and have to be replaced every few years until he's an adult? Wouldn't scar tissue build up around the sutures and stay unstretched or, worse, split as he grows?

How many of you guffawed when David, with a straight face, told a reporter that they maintain STRICT doctor/patient confidentiality at PVH? BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!! Stop, yer killin' me!

Why did Aidan get up from the table to warn Annie not to say anything about where she was and telling her she was taking a BIG risk calling him? Wouldn't have have been considerably more discreet to simply sit there and take the call without dramatically pacing about over a sudden phone call? Super secret agent my ASS. He may have done it to get away from the people near his table, but he COULD have been a bit more nonchalant about it, even if he had to pretend he was digging out a wedgie to do it. Come to think of it, a nasty wedgie WOULD explain the expression that's on his face most of the time.

Adam invited DAVID (and Krystal) to the mansion for the celebration party? Oh PUH-LEASE!

Hey, they actually DID acknowledge that Ian was not yet 2 years old (he's 21 months)!

I don't understand why JAR seems to think visitation rights to David are a done deal -- JAR did NOT give visitation rights to him -- ADAM did. Not only that, but wouldn't the COURT be the one to say that David has the RIGHT to visitation? From what I can see, David has no rights AT ALL, even if Adam DID sign the papers. ADAM does not have custody, PERIOD. If JAR is too stupid to figure that out within 2 seconds, then he really shouldn't be running a multi-national conglomerate ... or even signing a report card. THIS MAKES NO SENSE!

I liked the way Adam's voice went high when he told Erica and Nurse Gail that he was FINE. A voice suddenly going high is a dead giveaway when someone is lying or at least nervous about THAT part of what they are saying.

I LOVED how David made it clear to Scott that it's in everyone's best interests for the heart valve to work, as opposed to David telling the world that it was flawed: if anything goes wrong, Zach will make sure they all end up in the desert somewhere after going through a wood-chipper. Ah, THAT explains his angle. Even DAVID has second-thoughts about crossing ZACH.

And then they end the show with finding the doctor (who pioneered the heart valve) hanging from the ceiling, with us seeing his feet swaying back and forth. Man, what a DOWNER! AMC is really pushing the envelope lately. That's the third in-your-face event in about a month or so; first they showed Zach removing Liza's panties, then they showed Jake going down on Amanda under the covers (which was in HIS face in that instance) and now a hanging body. I hope we aren't going to see the man's bloated face with his tongue protruding, his eyes popping out and a rope around his neck on Monday (not to mention puddled urine on the floor, among other things).
