Boogie Chillen, S01E17, C4P1 (Mon, 5-20-13)

So. How long before David and Angie have sex?

JAR has AMAZING muscle tone for having been in a coma for 5 years. I find it hard to believe he can even sit up, let along WALK, even with help.

Oh please! Celia wants to be virginal, yet she wears THAT to bed (with Pete lying on top of the covers and her under the covers)? I'm not saying she should be wearing a granny gown (too much easy access, in any case), but a flimsy gown that barely covers her ass is pushing it.

BCT has relatively white teeth for the kind of life he's lived. Funny -- he never struck me as someone who flosses and brushes on a regular basis. In fact, I'd expect his teeth to be somewhat on the greenish brown side. I think his teeth WERE kind of dingy back in the day (before bleaching became so commonplace, so I guess I can chalk his pearly whites now up to dentures (or Clorox).

TAN/OT: I knew a girl in high school (circa 1972) who had the whitest teeth I had ever seen. I complimented her on them and she rolled her eyes and confided to me that she had used Ajax cleanser (which I think had bleach in it) on her teeth. It had removed most of the enamel, resulting in cavities in every single tooth! She had already been beautiful and popular before she did that (I couldn't believe she was even TALKING to me or that she was so nice), so I was stunned that she felt she needed to do something so drastic. It definitely made her more human in my eyes. It also was a remembered lesson to not ever use cleanser or household bleach on my teeth.

Boogie Chillen, S01E13, C3P3 (Wed, 5-15-13)

Opal! What a sneaky bitch for snitching on Celia (for the sole purpose of keeping Pete for herself)!

Is it my imagination, or are they showing more commercials now? OTOH, I'm "binge watching" at the moment so maybe it just seems like it because I have to sit through them all one after the other without the ability to FF.

Jeeze, I nearly jumped in my chair! JAR was holding AJ's hand and trying to let him know how much he loved him, and then Dixie suddenly opened the sliding door to the room. The sound effect for the sliding door made it sound like Darth Vader was about to sweep into the room!

I love, Love, LOVE that JAR echoed my sentiments and referred to himself as an asshole! :-)

I agree with Debbie that, angst over Cassandra's situation aside, Jesse and Angie are waaaay overbearing on questioning the beaten patient about the sex trafficking ring. Of course, PVH has never been particularly strict about HIPAA violations.

Whoa! It's not often on a soap (never, in fact, until NOW) that you see a guy with loose briefs that allow his package to jiggle around right there on camera! I am, of course referring to the muscle-endowed henchman/porn actor who grabbed Cassandra at the end of the show.

TAN: Speaking of muscle-men, My mother and I were out shopping and, as we waited for a light to change, we looked at a nearby strawberry stand. A man had gotten out of his car to go to walk up to the stand. The first thing I noticed was that his biceps were HUGE. He was modestly dressed and a little on the short side, so they might have been overlooked if I hadn't been looking at the strawberry stand at the time. I pointed him out to my mother. I noticed that his thighs were also bulging with an abundance of muscles and said so. Mom said "he's also bow-legged". He was. I told her that that was because his thighs were so huge that he HAD to walk bow-legged.

BC - Fri, 7/22/11

Okay, there's no doubt whatsoever that David is in charge of whatever the hell it is he's in charge of that involves Ben who is beholden to (and ostensibly in love with) Jane, to whom David is ostensibly engaged. It's also crystal clear now that Dixie and Erica were both being guarded/tended to by Ben under David's direction.  I'm intrigued. What the HELL is David doing, what HAS he been doing, and what is he GOING to do? It's quite convoluted.

JAR trips over the chair AJ is sitting in (where's a 4th floor balcony when you need one?) and AJ barely glances in his direction, not even flinching. He does look upset in a frozen kind of way, though. I had to laugh when Bianca later made a reference to JAR going out a window. I really like how they are throwing us some show-history bones during these last days (just don't throw us FAKE bones).

Boy, that Ben is a real ROCK, isn't he? No really. I've seen rocks with more personality and animation.

When David, still reeling from the punch Jack delivered to his face, grabbed Erica and said she was his beautiful fiance, then kissed her, how many of you immediately FF'd in your own brain to Erica saying "F**K OFF, DAVID!"

When Erica subsequently bit David on the mouth and he yanked away, saying "WTH, you just BIT me!" I had my own little flashback to this morning when I said pretty much the same thing when one of our cats did the same thing to me as I was petting him (he bit me; I did not bite him). He's an instinctual biter down to his itty-bitty little kitty core.

Oh puh-leeze! Did you see Liza's fake tear-wiping? She pressed a square of whatever up to the corner of her eye and just held it there for effect. Press and HOLD ..2..3..4... Shades of Casey Anthony in front of the jury!

Jesse scoffs at Erica's story of being kidnapped by a crazed fan who became her doppelganger. This from the man who faked his own death, hid away for 20 years and who, mere months ago, accepted someone else's baby to switch with his own dead one since Angie had passed out and couldn't see anyway. Yet he is the soul of  skepticism over Erica's story. Okay, Erica's story IS pretty far-fetched (REALLY far-fetched), but not by Pine Valley standards. It's less far-fetched than her unaborted fetus showing up in town 30 years later; the unaborted fetus that was excised, transplanted and subsequently raised by a doctor who happened to be one of Erica's biggest fans, for that matter.

BC - Tue-Wed, 5/10-11/11

Today's product placement:  Cheerios (with a prize inside)

Those were interesting shoes Cara brought to rough it on a DWB stint (we saw them when Jake remembered her standing in front of him in a tent as she was wearing a matching bra and panties with her platform shoes.  I'm they they came in  handy when she had to slog through mud and over rocks to get to wounded people.  Okay, he did mention that it was their wedding day (he was dressed in a grubby t-shirt, loose casual pants and dog tags).  I have to say, though, that her bra DID seem to match the color of his t-shirt.

Asher creates an updated Cortlandt Electronics website (because the multi-national conglomerate doesn't already have one).  He puts bios of Caleb and Erica on the site, too.  Erica's photo, ever professional, pretty much says "LOOK AT MY BOOBS!"  I know that's the only thing that truly gives me TOTAL confidence in Cortlandt Electronics; it's all *I'LL* ever need when it comes to putting my consumer electronic needs, corporate electronic needs, and investment funds into the company.

Ryan tells Madison that he doesn't want her to be stressed at ALL; that's why he plans to micromanage her doctor appointments and probably everything else in her life from here on out.

Why do addicts in Pine Valley always have decanters out at all times?

They missed a golden opportunity when Emma asked Greenlee if she was okay.  Greenlee (lying) said:  "Good."  Emma SHOULD have said:  "Really.  I think you're miserable and I'm REALLY glad!"  What she DID say was:  "Good.  Me, too."  I'm pretty sure they meant she was not upset that Ryan and Greenlee's problem wasn't about her this time, but if they really wanted to, they could spin it that Emma was okay, too, because she knew Greenlee was on Ryan's shit-list.

Semi-TAN:  I like how Jack mentioned jury selection and how people thought he was a fool of a lawyer (because he let Erica dump him like that).  As many of you know, I'm following the Casey Anthony trial now and they are still in the process of jury selection, so it's on my mind.  BTW, one idiot of a juror in that case decided that he could get out of jury duty by talking to a news crew about it (even going so far as to tell them that's WHY he was talking to them about it.  He DID get out of jury duty.  He was also convicted of Contempt of Court and fined $450 and repeatedly blasted by the judge on national TV, and then physically escorted to the clerk's office to take care of paperwork and make arrangements to pay it off.  He'd get away with it at the Pine Valley courthouse.

BC - Mon, 3/21/11

Why is Amanda having an orientation meeting with JAR in a BAR?  Shouldn't they be at Chandler Enterprises where there's stuff that, oh, I don't know, has to do with WORK?  Amanda could just as easily grab his drink (of sparkling water) out of his hand and tossed it in a plant in his office, although it would be harder for Jake to come by and snark at them.  AMC probably left the Chandler Enterprises set back in New York.

Why does everyone think Kendall is all dressed up?  If anything, she looks LESS dressed up than she usually does.  It must be the "little black dress" factor.

TAN:  I just saw a spice commercial where various people proudly hold up their creations.  A woman holds up a big, shallow bowl with pasta and various other things in it.  It all stays put, despite her tilting it toward the camera.  I might have let that go if it weren't for the lady at the end of the commercial who holds up a huge bowl of salad.  She tilts it almost entirely vertical and not a single thing in the bowl so much as trembles, let alone falls onto the floor.  I call BOGUS!  Of course, I suppose the spicemaker never said anything about WHAT you choose to put your spices in/on.  For all I know she was really into putting spice on fake food that's shellacked into a bowl.  Oh wait -- the cherry tomato she added at the end DID roll slightly

BC: Wed, 3/9/11

I know the INS agents were watching Tad and Cara, but leaving the curtains up?  In a HOTEL room?  On their HONEYMOON?  Don't buy it for a second and neither should the agents.

Speaking of the agents, I agree that it's ludicrous that the INS is putting this many people and hours into their case against Cara.  Unless they think she's a terrorist (I could buy THAT, given her fake names and extensive travel) or a murder suspect they'd have much better success hanging out in places illegal aliens are known to frequent if they are trying to make some sort of monthly quota on deportations.

SEMI-TAN/OT:  I have to thank AMC for being a port in a storm for me, yet again.  After watching hours and hours of coverage of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, checking websites, facebook, tweets for information, it was nice to escape to Pine Valley and its silly problems for a while.  My son and daughter-in-law (who live about 30 miles northeast of Tokyo) are fine.  I finally starting to relax a little ...

BC: Tue, 3/8/11

TAN/OT:  I had finished this BC yesterday and was starting to watch Wednesday's show when I found out about the 8.9 earthquake in Japan.  My son and DIL live about 30 miles outside of Tokyo (30 miles closer to the epicenter), so I've been somewhat distracted since then (like staying up until about 8am this morning watching CNN).  They and their house are okay.  There's a mountain between them and any potential tsunami.  My DIL was in Tokyo (6 stories up in an office building) and was lucky enough to share a taxi with 6 co-workers (no trains running), although it took about 4 hours to get home.  My son was ABOUT to go in to Tokyo when it hit.  Thank God he didn't get stranded on a train!  Also thank God for the internet and Facebook.  I wasn't able to reach him by phone, but he responded within about 15 minutes of my plea on FB, so I was saved a night or more of anguish wondering if they were ok, and I was also able to let other connected friends and family members know they were okay.

My heart goes out to those so strongly affected by this historic earthquake and tsunami.

Back to AMC:

Joe and Ruth actually DID show up for the wedding!  Well, it's worth the lame storyline to see THEM!

I'm also glad to see TPTB bring Cara and Griffin's mother onto the show.  She made a pretty dour debut, but it's obvious she's a strong woman who loves her children very much.  We need more FAMILY in Pine Valley.  Now if only she could convince her daughter to wipe all that glop off of her eyes.

Apparently the PV Transporter is currently located in the Martin living room, because the INS agent took all of 16 seconds to walk out of the Martin living room and into ConFusion.  That may be a record!  Tad and Cara had kissed and been pronounced husband and wife when he stood up, but they hadn't even started to walk down the aisle yet when he walked into Confusion!

I noticed neither Tad nor Cara said anything in their vows about love.  I'm sure the agent will latch onto THAT.

BC - Wed, 2/16/11

As much as it pains me to say it, I have to agree with Ryan -- JAR should have thought about Emma and told Ryan that Annie was going off the rails.

Looks like Bianca has been taking makeup lessons from Cara. Ugh! Watch the scene in the hospital when Bianca is telling Kendall about how bad she feels about Reese not getting on the plane. Alicia Minshew has not gone for that raccooon look (she's back to her regular makeup), and she looks gorgeous. Bianca is pretty, but she, too, looked like black warpaint had been applied to her eyelids.

OT/TAN: I saw an anchorwoman yesterday and she looked VERY odd. She was blond and pale (nothing wrong with that). She had so much foundation on, though, that she looked as if her face had been completely sanded down and then the eyes were painted back on, very thick and very black. Lipstick defined her mouth, so at least I could see when it was moving. All I could think of as I watched her was a) her face had been erased (it was hard just to get past THAT part), and b) she looked like a pale beige sock puppet. I realize this is the makeup trend now, but IMO it looks ridiculous and it looked particularly ridiculous on her.

BC - Tue, 2/8/11

Kendall's mighty energetic considering she just had a stent inserted into her aorta (under a local anesthetic, at that) in a wrecked ambulance.

They put an oxygen mask on Kendall (once she stopped fighting it). Wouldn't that have been helpful when Dr. Hunky was operating on her?

Kendall is STILL in the wrecked (and not particularly sterile) ambulance, yet Jack and Bianca both leave for unimportant things (Jack to get food at Krystal's and Bianca to go home and reassure the boys that Kendall is okay). Hello? Kendall just had her AORTA operated on in iffy circumstances after a rollover crash! You'd think they would want to hang around to make sure she's REALLY okay now.

Why is Cara's butterfly bandage only near one edge of her wound, and why isn't it actually holding the wound together? If anything, it's holding the skin APART.

OT/TAN: Well, I have to save I was moved by a commercial. It was about "intense feminine itch". The voiceover sounds very understanding as it assures the woman that it KNOWS that's the LAST place you want your itch cream to fail (which oddly implies that there ARE circumstances during which you WOULD want your itch cream to fail) . The poor woman who is being bedeviled by intense feminine itching is a bride being prepped for the ceremony, and she looks very apprehensive and worried.

After some product info from the voiceover, the bride subsequently looks very happy, itch-free and confident as she and her new husband descend the stairs while people toss flower petals at them. Obviously she took the voiceover's advice and used Vagisil for her intense feminine itching. That's all well and good, but the poor woman still has something of a feminine problem on her HONEYMOON, doesn't she? I feel bad for her. I hope the newlyweds plan to use protection until she can see a doctor, because whatever is causing it in the first place might be communicable.

BC - Fri, 2/4/11

I really like the blouse Colby was wearing as she stupidly taunted Annie after telling her that she recorded Annie's confession (such as it was) about assaulting eBabe and stealing her stuff. Here's an idea: record a conversation and then take it to whomever you plan to take it to, WITHOUT cluing in the perp about it before anything can be done. Not that the recording would likely hold up in a court of law, since it was not legally sanctioned, but at least others might hear it and know that Annie DID do it.

The three main doctors at PVH all abandoned their posts to go out in an ambulance looking for Kendall. So who's running the hospital? Maybe Dr. Kravitz and Dr. Bender are holding the fort.

OT/TAN: My latest commercial annoyance: the Amazon Kindle commercial where a man in the sun is trying in vain to read a book on his ebook reader, but there's too much glare. He asks the woman next to him, who is engrossed in whatever she is reading on HER ebook reader, how she's doing it. She smugly says that it's a Kindle and it's only $139. Even more smugly, she remarks that she paid more than that for her sunglasses. Must be nice to have money to toss out on such expensive sunglasses, let alone an ebook reader. It might have been tolerable if she simply stated that the price was $139 and left it at that, but the sunglasses part makes me want to SLAP her. The gist of the commercial that really stood out to me, though, is that while they show the screen of the man's ineffective ebook reader in the sunlight, they do NOT show the screen of the Kindle in the sunlight. So how do we know how much better it is in the sunlight it is than the man's, other than going by the smugness of the bitch with the expensive sunglasses?

BC - Tue, 1/18/10

I don't think Alicia Minshew was mic'd properly today. She kept fading too quiet or too loud, no matter how much I adjusted the volume.

Jesse handcuffs David to his bed. Dr. Castillo asks what he's supposed to do if he needed to take him in for tests. Hint, Dr. Castillo: The bed has wheels.

TAN/OT: Imagine my horror/that-figures when I clicked on a link at CNN about a ripoff airline and saw the photo accompanying the article!

It DOES make me wonder if that's what Zach's plane looked like before it crashed into the ocean.

BC - Wed-Thu, 10/13-14/10

Jesse begs Jack NOT to call Angie as a witness (who also had a motive to kill David) in Greenlee's trial. He says that he can't DO this to Angie now -- not if Jackson is the decent, honorable, and ethical lawyer that Jesse knows him to be. Hello??? Jesse, Jackson is a LAWYER. He could be disbarred for not vigorously defending his client, and he has a duty to create reasonable doubt. The fact that everyone in town wanted to kill David means that there are PLENTY of other possible suspects and reasonable doubt. As a doctor and Chief Of Staff, Angie would also have easy access to Digitalis.

Why is it that Scott is already in an orange uniform, but Greenlee had to wear her own clothes day after day while in jail? He's even in the same cell she was in (#4).

OT/TAN: Am I the only one who HATES that commercial about the mom who borrows her daughter's green shirt? It gives me the creeps. While I'm on the subject, that commercial with the cardboard cutout of an angry leprechaun gives me the creeps, too.

Did you notice that Jesse doesn't know how to pronounce "amnio"? He said "ammio".
